***2015 NHL Reg Season*** Gostibehere best prospect ever (1 Viewer)

Last time the Wings didn't make the playoffs Bel Biv Devoe was poisoning the radio airways and feathered hair was still in.

Flyers better wake the **** up or they should just forfeit tomorrow. What the f*** are they doing!?

Looks like the flyers might be too much for the pens jv/minor league team. I think 90% of the starters arent even playing. Would have been nice to help knock them out of playoffs

Congrats to all of the Wings and Flyers fans. Well done.

Hopefully the lack of playoff revenue for a second year hits the Jacobs family where they finally will feel it and they do what's necessary to get the Bruins back on track. A fan can dream, can't he?

See you all in the playoff thread.

Does Julien take the fall for it?

And not to start off your offseason with a nightmare, but Milbury has told theBruins front office that he's interested in coaching if they have an opening.

Nm, I see Neuvirth is ok.  Presumably will get a little tuneup tomorrow.  Don't over exert though.  Maybe hextall could jump in for the third.

I've heard the Milbury thing. Maybe wishful thinking on his part, but who knows what to think.

As for Julien, like I posted earlier, I truly believe he was gone if they had lost that Game 7 to Toronto in '13. Instead they go to within a minute of taking the Hawks to a Game 7 in the SCF which bought him some slack. But then a Game 7 home loss to the Canadiens followed by two straight playoff misses. This season marred by maddening inconsistency and mediocre play at home. The core is getting old and consecutive collapses down the stretch won't help.

It wouldn't surprise me either way. Could be a classic "fire the coach to shake things up" move but I'm not sure that would be the quick fix with this group. It might be time for a bigger rebuild. Sweeney and Co. have their work cut out for them.

This is not a news flash, but Mike Commodore really doesn't like Babcock ...

@commie22: How about those Red Wings...this year above all others...I am glad they made the playoffs.

Bruins' 93 points would have been 8th (comfortably) in the West.

Wild's 87 points would have been 10th (1 ahead of Ottawa) in the East.

crazy.

West is really top-heavy this year. Lots of garbage teams overall though.

Horrific choke job by the Kings tonight.

Yeah, I think everyone just assumed the West was tougher. But the average point total in the East is 91.75, the West is 90.21.

Have to wonder if at some point they examine the 16/14 East vs. West split in regards to teams getting into the playoffs. (And this has nothing to do with the B's not getting in ... they don't deserve it with the way they finished and didn't show up today.)

East took home 152 loser points or 9.5/team to the West's 123 or 8.8/team so all that shows is they went to overtime more.

the schedule isn't balanced and everything is divisional focused, not conference.  in this year in particular, there was one good division and one bad division in each conference.  the advantage this year rested in which division you were in, not conference.  the Atlantic finished with an average points per team of 87.9 which was third just in front of the Pacific with 85.9.  Metro was 95.6 and Central was 94.6.  so if you played in the Pacific or Atlantic, in general, you played worse competition that the other two divisions.

the system is dumb, but no one in the East has a real gripe this year.  Atlantic was wide open for the taking.

Central has sent 15 teams to the playoffs since the new format 3 years ago, the most possible.  I'm sure every team in the Central would gladly take an additional team in the division if it meant more patsies.

We really need a three-point system. Trying to hold on to tradition for records' sake is just stupid because you never had teams missing the playoffs with 95-96 points in the past, so there's no comparison.

To think that this year's Caps were even in the same stratosphere as the 1976-77 Canadiens is a joke.

RIP Mr Snider  - you may not have always made the right decisions but you wanted to win.

Thank you  :(

Really enjoyed Washington's game Saturday vs. St. Louis. Holtby tied the record for goalie wins in a season (while playing 12 fewer games than Brodeur did in his record season) and Ovie with the hat trick to reach 50 for the third straight season. Nobody else has scored 50 once during that time, and only 7 other guys have scored as many as 40 goals in a season. None of them has hit 40 twice during that time.

He also won his fourth straight Rocket Richard Trophy, and has scored 53 more goals than any other player over that span.

Now he needs to get it done in the playoffs.

Canada named 18 players to their World Championship team

F: Duchene, O'Reilly, T.Hall, Gallagher, Domi, Jenner, McDavid, Marchand, S.Reinhart, Scheifele, Stone

D: Rielly, Murray, Ceci, Hutton, Tanev

G: Talbot, Pickard

Pretty strong group of forwards. Will be fun to see McDavid there at least. Reinhart, McDavid, and Domi all were on last year's World Junior team together.

they went very young.  though I guess they've been doing that for a while now.
