is set of polls is for rookie picks post NFL draft. As always - please feel free to add any comments on why you selected a player at this slot and to suggest players who you think have been overlooked (or if you voted other, then please feel free to add a post on who you voted for).

The purpose for these polls is to attempt to roughly gauge the perceived values of the rookie players now that we know the context of their draft position and team that they are drafted by. These polls that take place after the NFL Draft should now factor in situation as well as talent, and of course the knowledge of what NFL Draft round and team each player has landed on.

Debate is very welcome as we all want to know not only which players are specifically ranked ahead of others but also why. This also bumps the thread so that more people will see the poll and hopefully participate by voting.

I will try to stay on top of these and keep the polls moving. The more votes the better. I prefer to not close any poll until there are at least 100 votes (since revised to close to 50 votes) and I might leave a poll open longer if the vote is very close between prospects.

I went Mariota - Winston - Maxx Williams.

I'm most curious to see where the 3rd QB falls in the 2-QB league poll.

Is the 2-QB poll PPR?

I don't think there is a specific designation of standard or PPR in the 2QB poll. I assume people are voting based off of their scoring and experience with 2QB leagues. But the scoring systems in 2QB leagues likely vary quite a bit, so that may be a mixed bag. Some 2QB leagues will have IDP as well. So hard to say really where people are coming from on that poll.

I assume 12 team 1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1 flex (not QB) for the standard and PPR polls (what my rankings are based on) but that may vary with the voter as well.

I voted for Mariotta in the standard and PPR poll. I have been voting for him for a few polls now. I am voting for Tyler Lockett in the 2QB poll. He is my highest ranked tier 2 prospect.

25 votes into this now.

Mariotta has a substantial lead on the rest of the field in the standard poll with 13 votes.

Winston and Mariotta are tied at 7 votes each leading the PPR poll. I am somewhat shocked that both of the QB are still available this late here. People are voting for Jeremy Langford over these QB?

Maxx Williams is leading the 2QB poll with 5 votes.

At 31 votes now.

Winston has a one vote lead on Mariotta in the PPR poll.

A 3 way tie has developed in the 2QB poll with Maxx Williams, David Johnson, Devin Smith all having 4 votes each.

Sounds like the problem is that the QB vote is split. If you only offered one of the QBs and not the other, he probably would have won by now. I know that's not the way these are done (I think I ran them a couple of summers about five years ago and did it the same way you're doing it).

Just shows how deep QB is that neither of these guys is a consensus 1st rounder. I don't think I'd consider either one of them in a start 1 QB league until about 2.03 and then it would on team need vs. the next tier of guys down to about 2.06.

I do agree that if either of them fall all the way to the mid-2nd in a rookie draft, you almost have to take them over the Day 3 RB draft choices and lower end WR options though. Even if you have a couple good QBs already, from a value perspective it just leans too heavily towards the QBs at this point.

I started voting for Mariotta at 2.01

I don't even consider myself that high on these QB. However being picked 1st and 2nd overall carries a lot of weight in how I view both QB. I still prefer Mariotta for fantasy because I think he will run the ball more than Winston.

My rankings look like this:

Tier 1a will contend for a top 12 season within the first three seasons.

RB Todd Gurley 21 pick 10 Rams
WR Amari Cooper 20 pick 4 Raiders
RB Melvin Gordon 22 pick 15 Chargers
WR DeVante Parker 22 pick 14 Dolphins
WR Kevin White 22 pick 7 Bears

Tier 1b could contend for a top 12 season within the first three seasons, but most likely only top 24 production.

RB Ameer Abdullah 21 pick 54 Lions
RB Tevin Coleman 22 pick 73 Falcons
WR Phillip Dorsett 22 pick 29 Colts
WR Dorial Green-Beckham 22 pick 40 Titans
RB TJ Yeldon 21 pick 36 Jaguars
WR Nelson Agholor 21 pick 20 Eagles
WR Breshad Perriman 21 pick 26 Ravens
QB Marcus Mariota 21 pick 2 Titans
QB Jameis Winston 21 pick 1 Bucs

Tier 2 these players I expect to be capable of finishing top 24 at their position but not top 12.

WR Tyler Lockett 22 pick 69 Seahawks
WR Devin Smith 23 pick 37 Jets
WR Devin Funchess 21 pick 41 Panthers
RB Duke Johnson 21 pick 77 Browns
WR Jaelen Strong 21 pick 70 Texans
RB Jay Ajayi 21 pick 149 Dolphins
TE Maxx Williams 21 pick 55 Ravens
WR Sammie Coates 22 pick 87 Steelers
QB Garrett Grayson pick 75 Saints
RB David Johnson 23 pick 86 Cardinals
RB Cameron Artis-Payne 23 pick 174 Panthers
WR Chris Conley 22 pick 76 Chiefs
RB Jeremy Langford 23 pick 106 Bears
TE Clive Warford 23 pick 68 Raiders
QB Bryce Petty pick 103 Jets
QB Brett Hundley 21 pick 147 Packers
RB Javorius Allen 23 pick 125 Ravens
WR Justin Hardy pick 107 Falcons
RB David Cobb 21 pick 138 Titans
RB Mike Davis 22 pick 126 49ers
RB Matt Jones pick 95 Redskins
RB Josh Robinson pick 205 Colts
WR Ty Montgomery pick 94 Packers

So I consider both QB to be the 13th and 14th most valuable players of the 2015 draft and a tier above the larger tier two group of players who I doubt have better than top 13 upside at any point of their careers.

These are the players in the PPR poll that I consider to be tier 2 players who have gone ahead of the QBs:

2.01 RB Duke Johnson (23.2%)

2.02 WR Devin Funchess (21.3%)

2.03 WR Jaelen Strong (25%)

2.04 TE Maxx Williams (24.4%)

2.05 RB Jay Ajayi (25.3%)

2.06 RB David Johnson (40.5%)

The RB here I do really like. But they enter 2015 in time share situations that are going to be difficult competition for opportunity. They certainly do not have as clear a path to starting as the QBs do. The WR may only be the second best WR on their own team.

I guess I could see myself opting for one of these guys if my QB stable was already strong. But in a vacuum I consider the QB to be safer bets to become useful players in fantasy.
