He played 46 minutes. That possession right after the Warriors took the lead would bother me most if I was a Cav fan. Kyrie just tries to shake Klay. Everyone knew that Irving wasn't going to pass it, even Iggy starts to slack off of LeBron because he knows. That is bad when your best player doesn't even touch the ball in that spot.
I think one of those Bullets/Celtics games were better. But we really don't have much to choose from, huge clunker. The most exciting, competitive game of the entire playoffs and people still talking about Jordan. Makes sense.![]()
Pause it when Durant crosses half court and you'll see there's no pressure at all. LBJ is meandering flat footed behind the 3 point line, Kyrie has his back turned and JR Smith is guarding Iggy. LBJ is still on the floor and still behind the 3 point line when Durant pulls up.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AnfBqbNmfI
8:04. Durant pulls up and LeBron puts a hand in his face before the ball is released. Is it the perfect contest? No, but it was the 4th quarter and LeBron had played all, but 2:30 minutes. If he goes out to aggressive Durant goes by and there is no help.
+7 needs to be +17Lebron +7 in 46 minutes of play and the Cavs lose by 5. Holy ####.
Sure but he still won't surpass DEVO as the most famous Akronian/s.If the Cavs come back and win, Lebron will be the GOAT.
Your tears are indeed delicious.Lol @ all the crying about calls. Your tears are delicious.
I would actually love to see this. What more does Bron have to play for than 82-0?LeBron should just Opt out and join the warriors. Why watch
You are welcome friend. All though that was not my tears but I've heard it is a little salty.Your tears are indeed delicious.
What about when he blatantly kicks AI in the nuts? For me, any notion that LeBron didn't think twelve moves ahead went out the window when he instigated Draymond's infamous nut brush at the end of game four last year. It was so egregious, yet so masterful at the same time. And it worked.
Plus the game was being played at a fast pace early AND the Cavs were aggressively doubling the ball screen all night. This things add up. Especially when the warriors have 4-5 guys they use to initiate the offense. He played 46 minutes.
I kept wondering why he played so many mop up minutes against the Eastern Conference but now I see he was trying to condition himself for this series. Their role players have disappeared and James is trying to do everything.
Don't forget Lebron is coaching for 48 minutes.Plus the game was being played at a fast pace early AND the Cavs were aggressively doubling the ball screen all night. This things add up. Especially when the warriors have 4-5 guys they use to initiate the offense.
And refereeing.Don't forget Lebron is coaching for 48 minutes.
Careful. msudaisy26 will be by to tell you they would have lost even if James had played those other two minutes.Lebron +7 in 46 minutes of play and the Cavs lose by 5. Holy ####.
The nature of the Warriors style makes it to where they can still get rebounds, despite not having traditionally big "bigs." They take so many 3s that the rebounds are often long, so an opponent might have you boxed it, but the missed 3 rebounds so high and long that a Warrior can still swoop in and grab it before you adjust. I think that is part of their game that is overlooked, and it's clear that they practice how to get those kinds of rebounds.Curry had 5 of the Warriors 8 offensive rebounds. Interesting.
That's what happens when your "point guard" only has 3 assists. That possession right after the Warriors took the lead would bother me most if I was a Cav fan. Kyrie just tries to shake Klay. Everyone knew that Irving wasn't going to pass it, even Iggy starts to slack off of LeBron because he knows. That is bad when guys are slacking off on the best player on the planet because they know the ball isn't going to move.
I dunno, I think it's pretty cool that it doesn't involve a team that went 41-41 in the regular season.Only good thing about this final is the current thread title.
In addition to this it's also possible that LeBron didn't expect Durant to pull up that quickly because it handed the Cavs a two for one.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AnfBqbNmfI

It was van gundyIn addition to this it's also possible that LeBron didn't expect Durant to pull up that quickly because it handed the Cavs a two for one.
Can't remember which color guy it was who laid into Irving for not executing the two for one in the subsequent possession, but they were dead on. For all the things he did wrong in the final 90 seconds that was IMO the most egregious. Lue deserves a decent share of the blame for it too.
Karl Culver? Yeah he's a bum.Great game. Durant = just no defending him.
K. Irving is unbelievable when finishing in the paint. Just unreal. Too bad he doesn't know how to distribute the ball like a, oh I don't know, point guard.
Curry is pretty good. As is Clay.
Lebron attacking the rim only to throw it back out to that bum JR Smith... inexplicable and worthless.
Would be shocked if Cleveland has Smith and Culver on that team next season. Their whole bench sucks.
Warriors will dominate the next two years+ if Cleveland doesn't get another star and a better bench.
Bottom line for this series: D.U.R.A.N.T
This is moving the goal posts. I just said LeBron wasn't in horrible position.Pause it when Durant crosses half court and you'll see there's no pressure at all. LBJ is meandering flat footed behind the 3 point line, Kyrie has his back turned and JR Smith is guarding Iggy. LBJ is still on the floor and still behind the 3 point line when Durant pulls up.
Up 2 points, I'm playing aggressive defense and not giving up a 3 pointer. Then again I only played JV basketball so what do I know.
I hope he goes to the Clippers after Paul signs with the Spurs.
Bron can't leave CLE again and he shouldn't leave the East.
why?Is it safe to assume all Red Sox/Patriot fans are rooting for Lebron now?
Agree with this. This is moving the goal posts. I just said LeBron wasn't in horrible position.
I don't get your post though, you wanted LeBron to pressure Durant at half court? It was a miss on the other end, it is a horrible idea to pressure a guy when the rest of the defense isn't set. They were up 2 points, the last thing you want to do is get super aggressive and give up an easy 2 or a wide open 3.
LeBron wasn't that far inside the 3 point line. I think Durant seen a defense that was winded and went for the kill and made a play.
I would guess a large majority of the PA (everyone but the all star types) would be opposed to removing max salaries. As long as GS is willing to spend the $$$ to keep this group together the NBA is a forgone conclusion (barring injury or injuries).
Maybe some people want to watch 1 team just roll to a Championship every year, but I'd rather see some doubt in the outcome.
The NBA probably couldn't get a hard cap through the PA, so take the max salary limit off hoping to spread out the top talent more?
amazingamazing game by Irving, but they never used it. Cavs never do - they dont look to develop something that's working well for them into a secondary level to exploit how they have the other team off guard. the Dubs always do. part of it is that they have more weapons, but they always look to use an overplay to open something else up. cavs are like a pitcher who's shown all his stuff and has no out pitch for the 3rd time thru the lineup. That's what happens when your "point guard" only has 3 assists.
oh, that. that's just our seconditis w NYC playing out. i'm lookin for the sweep, maybe even the pathetic cave-in (Cav-in?). cant see LeBron humble, so i wanna see him humbled.Don't you like underdogs and comeback stories?
Yeah, the PA would never agree to that. The best 15-20 players would make more money and the other 430 players would all make less.I would guess a large majority of the PA (everyone but the all star types) would be opposed to removing max salaries.
Nice.oh, that. that's just our seconditis w NYC playing out. i'm lookin for the sweep, maybe even the pathetic cave-in (Cav-in?). cant see LeBron humble, so i wanna see him humbled.
LeBron ended up in a "non horrible" position, but the actual defense played before was terrible. He allowed KD to walk into a pull up 3 pointer. When you play defense it's not black or white like you suggest. LBJ could have applied pressure to prevent the 3 and still be in a position to defend a drive (where he has the speed advantage) just by simply picking up KD about 2 feet ABOVE the 3 point line. Pretty simple. This is moving the goal posts. I just said LeBron wasn't in horrible position.

That's the way the cookie crumbles, but it doesn't change the fact that they allowed an easy 3 pointer when they were up 2 points.Agree with this.
Had Durant missed that three people would be talking today about what a stupid shot it was to take in that situation and how Durant isn't clutch. It's amazing to think about how the fortunes and reputations of these players can be effected by a few inches of a shot from 25 feet away.
