I havent watched many Knicks games this year, but last night it seemed like Rose stole numerous shots away from Prozingis. He was feeling it mid/late 4th and there is Rose trying to do too much. Rose luckily hit the game clinching shot, but there might not have been a need for that shot if he gave some of his shots up to the hot hand. #UnleashPorzingis

Lucky for Knicks fans, Porzingis has some vets on the team teaching how not to play. After a couple more years of futility he'll learn that their style doesn't work.

FWIW, most of Porzingis's offense still comes from "flow".  He's a terrific cutter and especially as a stretch 5 can find open spots on the perimeter.  He also has a terrific midrange game when he has the space or isn't bodied which leads to his big weakness...

He has trouble in the PnR both setting the initial screen and then posting on the switch.  Most teams switch since you don't want him "popping" for a 3 and he still has trouble holding position against even small guards (i.e. he still needs to improve his leg strength).

I'd also say this...a ridiculous percentage of his shots come from assists. Close to 70% of his buckets come from assist, so as the quarters/possessions slow down and the ISOs to Anthony become more frequent, he's going to "disappear".  He's still a work in progress since he still can't hold position on the block or set the initial screen well, but his shot is so pure for a 7'3" guy that it doesn't matter at this point.

3 straight loses by the Hawks and they looked bad in the last two.  They've now lost to the Knicks, Pelicans, Lakers and Wizards.  No offense to any of those teams but that's ungood.

Speaking of wizards, Luke is one for Nick's transformation alone!  This postgame quote was priceless...

Los Angeles Lakers ‏@Lakers  9h9 hours ago
LA native Nick Young recalls Kobe, Horry & Fisher hitting game-winners: "Mine's kind of unique because I stole it from my teammate."
:lmao:
Wasn't thrilled with Walton's approach to the last 5 minutes or so. It took way too long for him to figure out Mozgov was getting worked by Westbrook in the 2 man game. And I don't know whose idea it was to devolve into iso ball there at the end but it almost cost them the W. I'm hoping he tried to call actual plays and guys just ignored him or panicked, but there was coaching ineffectiveness going on there either way.

Yeah, the ISO ball was particularly bad.  He said on the postgame that while the players needed to do better, some of that was on the coaches for not reigning them in and making them get away from it.  He's made his share of mistakes, but I like that he recognizes them and will make the needed adjustments.

No big deal, one of the Devos family members is Secretary of Education or something.

Go Magic!

#### I hate this team.

From Lowe's article today:

Turner will be the scapegoat if Portland, now carrying the league's third-highest payroll, ends up trapped in the middle. (He was almost as stunned as you by Portland's mega-offer, by the way, which turned out to be for four years and $70 million. Turner's agent made him promise not to tell anyone about the proposal until he signed it. Turner was too giddy, though. He hung up with his agent, immediately called Andre Iguodala, still a close friend and mentor, and blurted out, "Yo, Dre! They offered this!" Turner recalled, laughing. Iguodala told him to take the deal right away.)

:lmao:  Even Turner thought it was an overpay.

Oh hello year
Funny this got a like. I drank beers. It was getting loud. I drank beers. Swaggy did a good Swaggy thing. I meant to post. "Oh hell yeah."

But oh hello year works I guess.

I'm off to Vegas to get money down on these Showtime Lakers before they blow out the Warriors for the third straight time. I kid of course, about the game not another gross holiday in Vegas, ugh.

Happy Thanksgiving HoopsGuys.

Well through one quarter and Davis making a strong case for undisputed best big man from Kentucky with a 21-2 points advantage over KAT.

I'm honestly not sure what the NBA can do to hold the Sixers back. Should have been on a 3-game winning streak as of tonight, and once they get SImmons and Noel in the line-up i don't see them losing a game for the rest of the season. I think we are witnessing history here everyone, still have a couple seats left on the bandwagon. Sit back and enjoy the ride  :fro:

80 for the Warriors in the first half. Ouch.   I guess they were a bit motivated for this one. Lakers doing all they can to help them too with 10 turnovers and not much effort on D.

It's worth considering if the shark move would be for OKC to deal Westbrook while he's still got another year left on his deal.

I can't imagine any sort of deal that would make sense. Westbrook re-upped, as long as they keep paying him and allow him to do his thing, I think they gotta ride the guy until the wheels come off, and hopefully build around him.

Picks/young players? There's a decent chance they are a .500 or worse this year and next year. When Westbrook loses a step he's going to go from a top 5 player to mediocre really quick. If Boston calls with the two Brooklyn picks and Bradley, wouldn't that make some sense?

Bradley's great, but guys that you can build an offense around like RWB are so rare. I think they just need to keep pressing on as-is, continue to get shooters/defenders to put around RWB/Adams, and hope he doesn't bolt.

They're probably not going to get to the Finals that way. But rebuilding can often take a loooong time, and sometimes it doesn't work.

Hornets, once again, getting taken behind the woodshed at the end of the game by a team with Championship pedigree.

Hornets play brilliantly. Late in the 4th, Tony Parker (who was mostly invisible all game) comes up with two big steals and and huge 3. On one of the steals, he completely put Kemba on tilt for the next 1:30 (with only about 4 minutes left in the ####### game). On the first steal, Tony barely nicked Kemba on the wrist right before Kemba went flailing about trying to get the foul, truly pathetic. Kemba lost his #### and spent the next few possessions whining, including when the Hornets defense completely broke down leading to a Danny Green 3. Of course, he eventually turned that anger into a couple "Kemba dribble around figure something out" plays that ended with some brilliant finishes. You have to finish brilliantly when you basically have 4 guys guarding you, as any team with any sense knows there's zero chance of a pass in the final 3 minutes.

Then, with the game still to be decided, the Hornets turned the ball over a couple of times trying inbound the ####### ball.

At least this time it wasn't vs a team with a Championship pedigree

Looks like Wiggins's shooting is regressing to his mean. For awhile I thought Tre was going to be wrong about Lavine being better.
