How'd Baseball 101 work out for them?

Sometimes it does not work out......but I would still do what they did every time. Because it works most of the time. They are paid to play the percentages. Baseball is all about reversion to the mean. 

They did not lose because of intentional walks. Credit to the hitter.

Why intentional walk instead of trying to paint the corners to get him to out?

Maybe his cutter is not working great. Maybe the manager feels his pitcher is not hitting the corners and instead will hope he can induce a ground ball keeping the ball down.

There are so many things to consider. But one thing you can do is at least make a force at any bag so a ball hit anywhere in the infield can be a potential double play and get the hell out of there.

It just did not work out that way. I love this game.....this is what makes it great. Discussions like this.
