2016 NBA Draft - The place where Kings' fans dreams are crushed. (2 Viewers)

I don't blame him for holding ouit for more. Nor do I blame him for trying to convince teams (Sixers) that he will take Dunn if he doesn't trade the pick. But the Sixers have the leverage here. They can trade Okafor (or Noel) to teams after Boston and still get Dunn. If he's gone, they can get Hield or Murray.  Boston needs a big. They are set at guard.
Weird leverage.  If the Sixers want a PG this draft; then they want Dunn.  If the Celtics take Dunn, they have all of the leverage.  There are 28 other teams for the Celtics to get a big from.

Hinke has to be throwing a major temper tantrum with the Sixers about to #### all over the process.

Not that he didn't completely bungle it but I would love to see his reaction.

But the sixers need more than just a point. They can't be held hostage over Dunn. Murray and Hield would fill needs too. The one place Philly is loaded is with bigs. With the addition of Simmons, they'll have four guys to essentially play two positions (assuming Embid is back and healthy).  I do believe they want Dunn. Just as I do believe Boston would like Okafor. But Murray or Hield would be great fits too.

would you rather have okafer for a three or greg monroe and the eternal thanks of swc for a box of popcorn not even with extra butter take that to the riddle me this bank bromigos
Only if you include michael crapper williams and one of those vendor's hotdog warmers, brohan.

This is true, but I don't think the Suns want Okafor or Noel with Chandler and Len already there.  The Wolves' need is also a shooter and they have KAT/Dieng.  Maybe the Pelicans would be the next chance for the Sixers?  Noel might be nice with Anthony Davis...but Gordon is a free agent and Asik is under contract...so maybe they'd rather go SG too?

So, this thought that the Sixers can hop in whenever and get one of Dunn/Hield/Murray might not work out is all I'm saying.

TREmock:

1. Simmons - PHI

2. Ingram - LAL

3. Dunn- BOS

4. Chriss - PHX

5. Hield - MIN

6. Murray - NO

7. Bender - DEN

8. Brown - SAC

9. Skal - TOR

10. Sabonis - MIL

I actually stopped at 12 because I have no idea what the Hawks will do...Dejounte Murray?  Malik Beasley? Ellenson?

I know they want to move it too...so

Kinda nice that draft night isn't a huge deal for the Pistons for once.

Their biggest needs are backup PG and a bigger PF/C who can shoot outside but still defend down low and rebound.

PG will more likely be addressed in free agency. There's actually a lot of bigs that would fit... Skal, Ellenson, Sabonis, D. Davis... but they're mostly projected to be gone by 18.

I wouldn't mind Valentine, he's been mocked to the Pistons a few times, but I'm not a doctor and I have no idea how bad the knee issue is.

In conclusion... I have no idea who they'll pick and it probably won't be interesting.

:goodposting:  great stuff

Couldn't have put description better for Wade Baldwin.  Love that he's the #2 take. And his length didn't help him finish at the rim in college. Maybe he finds his way as a bench defender or put in a position like Roberson with okc. Absolutely see nothing in him as nba pg.

Nice takes on Chriss, Levert, and Dunn. I think Levert will wind up being a great nba role player if can stay reasonably healthy. Hoping bulls can nab in round 2 if he falls. Whoever gets Dunn are gonna be happy campers. Robbery imo if he falls to minny. (Him Kat and Wiggins would be insane. And I'm still a lavine fan but dunn is special at the rim and breaking guys down).

I disagree somewhat on the ulis take in today's nba. I think he's gonna eat in transition and tremendous in the half court pick and roll game. I see his downside as a very good 6th man. Physically doesn't bother me at all in today's nba. He's got a great floater so not greatly worried about finishing. Baldwin can't finish at rim either and he's got what a nearly 7 foot wingspan. And unlike Baldwin, ulis actually has pg instincts and will be able to run a nba offense.

Brice Johnson maybe?

They do not have the leverage over the C's...the C's are a young playoff team with the #3 pick, two more Brooklyn picks (and other picks) on the horizon and a great cap situation...the last thing they need to do is make a move for the sake of making a move...if they can't get something done they can simply take one of the Guards (if that's who they like) and continue the trade process this offseason...that may not be the splash we want to see as a fan but it would be the fundamentally sound thing to do...

There are concerns with Ulis offensively because of his size, but mostly its on the defensive side. He is going to have a hard time defending NBA athletes with NBA size. He's taller than Earl Boykins, but not much heavier. I had to suffer through years of watching and it was infuriating watching him go in with the second unit and get bullied.

Yeah, the defensive side is going to be rough for Ulis.

Glowing review for my man Brice Johnson, higher on him than I might be.  But does anyone have any guesses as to what this means?

I thought it was a way of saying he won't be able to stick a sharp shoulder into someone to create space, but when I googled "basketball round shoulder" the first hit was talking about trainers trying to get people the desired basketball rounded shoulders.

Also I love that scouts still can't help themselves with the white guy to white guy comps, even though they've been called out for it for years.  This guy went Jake Layman-Chandler Parsons.

Excited for the magic to take some guy who will never play or if he does he will really suck.

hopefully it's another guard who can't shoot.

Rounded shoulders made me think Tayshaun Prince immediately.

OK this kinda makes sense- not broad enough in the upper torso, basically.  I guess Dwight Howard would be an example of a squared-shouldered person.

They do the same thing with foreigners and black guys too. The pool of white guys is just much smaller than black guys so they have to reach a little harder to find an applicable comparison.

You gotta respect that Magic believe this 3 point thing is a fad.

It'll blow over.

Yup.  I was kinda disappointed that Porzingis actually does sort of play like Dirk, I was ready for that one to be hilariously off.

Sources: Sixers have had significant engagement w/ Boston (3), Minnesota (5) Sacramento (8) in past 24 hours. Boston talks continuing now.

Been reading lots of teams have plenty of interest in both Noel and Okafor, just depends on needs and resources. Philly trying to maximize in the way Hinkie did.

Lol. I love how we are doing the exact opposite of where the league is moving too.

We are zagging while they zig
If it makes you feel better, Warriors owner/gaping ###hole Joe Lacob agrees!

Lacob said the Warriors intentionally lead trends only to look for the next -- almost a prerequisite for anyone in Silicon Valley business."We drove this idea of small ball, and it's a different style of play," he said.

"Having said that, I think it's important to know that whenever everyone else starts doing things, it's time to start doing what's next. We're on to the next idea -- How can we iterate to evolve to get an advantage? I can assure you we're very forward thinking in that regard."
Christ, he's just the ####ing worst.

Dolan? Kroenke? Vivek?
I literally pray Kroenke dies the most horrible death possible.

Like a, after being attacked by a grizzy bear, a bleeding Stan attempts to climb a tree where he falls into his own camp fire and is horribly burned and as he lays bleeding, burned and broken on the ground, he is eaten by a swarm of bullet ants, type death.

Bender reportedly ruled out by Boston. Should be interesting to see who Phoenix chooses if go with a 4.

If I'm Celts I take Dunn and use Smart&16 (or other pick) to trade for a contribute now big. If Ibaka is infact on the block, perhaps OKC finds a way to snag Avery Bradley.

Pretty good shtick on SportsCenter right now:

1) Live look-in on the Kings war room, which had 2 people in it and 12 empty chairs.

2) Simmons entering the building, looking at his phone (probably at The Ringer), and a camera-man in front of him just eats ####. Simmons kind of looks at him curiously and steps around him and keeps going.
