Why isn't Love playing?
Didn't suit upThanks. During the game or did he not suit up?
Bryce Love hurt his ankle against Oregon. Wonder if he would have made a bigger difference last night. Stanford got lucky as hell.ClownCausedChaos2 said:Thanks again. Bummer. Was hoping to see him play.
Week 8 is in the books, and there are some wild numbers coming out of the weekend.
TCU held Kansas to 21 total yards in a 43-0 win, the fewest yards by any FBS team since at least 2000.
That includes minus-25 rushing yards. It’s the fewest total yards ever for a Big 12 team, according to ESPN. Kansas’ road losing streak stretched to 44 games, dating back to Sept. 12, 2009 at UTEP. That ties for the second-longest in college football history. The record is Idaho State’s 48, from 2006-14. KU’s last road win against a Power 5 team was on Oct. 4, 2008 at Iowa State.
Penn State has outscored opponents 90-0 in the first quarter, the only team yet to allow a first-quarter score.
That included 14-0 in Saturday night’s 42-13 win against Michigan. PSU’s first drive went 75 yards in two plays for a touchdown, and the second went 78 yards in four plays for a touchdown. Compare that to last year, when PSU was outscored by opponents in the first quarter 88-68.
Michigan’s defense was allowing 3.68 yards per play entering the game. Penn State’s offense recorded 8.29 per play in the win.
Alabama has won 72 consecutive games against unranked teams, one shy of the FBS record (Florida, 1990-2000).
With Saturday’s 45-7 defeat of Tennessee, the Tide have won 20 consecutive SEC regular seasons games, the second-longest streak in school history, and 20 consecutive games against the SEC East in all contests. Alabama is 11-for-11 on fourth downs this season, and they’ve racked up more than 600 yards three times, including 604 on Saturday. Their average margin of victory in SEC games this season is 40 points.
Tennessee’s stretch without an offensive touchdown will go over a month, and spans more than three games, since Sept. 23 against UMass. The Vols’ lone TD against Alabama was a defensive score. They were shut out by Georgia and kicked three field goals against South Carolina.
SMU wide receiver Trey Quinn caught at least 15 passes for the third consecutive game, the only FBS player to do that since at least 2000.
Quinn had 17 catches for 186 yards in an overtime win at Cincinnati. One of those catches was on 4th-and-26 in the OT period. It led to a field goal, and the defense got a stop for the win. Quinn also had 15 catches against UConn and 17 against Houston.
FAU put up 804 total yards in a 69-31 win against North Texas.
That broke the previous Conference USA record of 791 (Tulsa, 2008). The Owls scored on their first 11 drives. Lane Kiffin's team averaged 14.9 yards per completion, 9.3 per rush and 9.7 per play. All of those are school records. FAU has scored at least 30 points in four consecutive games. After an 0-2 start, and it sits at 4-3, 3-0 in C-USA.
South Florida set an AP Poll-era record (since 1936) with its 24th consecutive game scoring at least 30 points.
The latest was a 34-28 win at Tulane, moving USF to its first 7-0 start. Oregon did 23 games from 2011-12. The Bulls rushed for 378 yards and 7.3 per carry against Tulane, including 141 yards from running back Darius Tice and 138 from quarterback Quinton Flowers, as both averaged more than 10 yards per carry.
Army completed eight passes in a 31-28 win against Temple. It entered the game with eight completions on the season.
The Black Knights failed to complete a pass in three games earlier this year, going 2-1 in those games. Ahmad Bradshaw, Kelvin Hopkins Jr. and Luke Langdon combined to go 8-for-18 on Saturday, for 141 yards. Army entered the game with 125 passing yards. The Black Knights are 6-2 and will go to the Armed Forces Bowl, their sixth-ever bowl and the first time with back-to-back bowls since 1984-85.
Houston has given up seven points in its last two first halves and 80 points in its past two second halves.
Last week, the Cougars led Tulsa 10-7 at halftime and lost 45-17. On Thursday, they led Memphis 17-0 at halftime and lost 42-38. Turnovers were a big problem in both. Against Memphis, Houston had three turnovers in the second half, including on each of its final two drives. The Cougars are tied nationally for the fifth-highest turnover total with 16.
Baylor dropped to 0-7 with a 38-36 loss to West Virginia, and the Bears have been within a touchdown in the fourth quarter of six of those games.
On Saturday, Baylor trailed 38-13 entering the fourth quarter. The Bears scored 23 consecutive points, but a failed two-point conversion with 17 seconds left secured their 13th loss in the last 14 games. The Bears are a very young team and injured at several key positions, but they’ve been in almost every game under Matt Rhule. They’ve yet to finish.
There's a game in Jacksonville?Sucks for Fox that their OSU/PSU match-up is up against the big game in Jacksonville.
Ok. Well your definition of good expands to close games. Not one that would go on to be a 42 point dog.UF-UT
back and forth this week in here.Check the team threads.Sorta surprised the OSU/PSU homers haven't beenback and forth this week in here.
oh.....yeah, na, I'm goodCheck the team threads.
Good idea. Those fans from That School Out West are a little...well...good luck to them.oh.....yeah, na, I'm good![]()
Thanks for keeping it there though![]()
That LSU/Auburn game was kind of fun.Has there been a decent 3:30 SEC game yet this year?
Bama’s gap this year has hurt this game more than anything. That’s almost half their games. A&M game was solid though and some big ones coming.I didn't mean decent as in the score ended up being close, just decent as in it involved two "good" teams playing one another
I missed all but the end, but I should have recalled that at the clash of Nussmeier v an offense that hasn’t scored a TD since that game. That game was freaking horrid with a really great finish.
isn't he from Columbus?Jack Nicklaus will be the guest picker at Gameday tomorrow. Why would they bring a PAC12 alumnus for this?
Well... I have never seen them in the same room together.same guy, no?
the media hasn't debunked the idea so far as i know. pretty much validates it for me.Well... I have never seen them in the same room together.![]()
It's happening right before your eyes! Like watching mold growing on bread left on the window sillFsu has played like 5 straight noon games and now a Friday nighter. Usually takes longer than this to turn into a Conference USA team.
I don't know. Hard to believe. How much more talent do you need? He should honestly be embarrassed to take 5M+ for this garbage. What is happening to FSU is pretty alarming...we’ve been there (‘00) but with a coach who was completely in over his head. How often do really good coaches bounce back from a season like this?
I get the offense struggling some without Francois but WTF has happened to the defense?I don't know. Hard to believe. How much more talent do you need? He should honestly be embarrassed to take 5M+ for this garbage.
I think that is most FSU fan's beef. This defense should have carried them to some 21-14 wins. Instead they're getting trounced. And the D is almost totally healthy.I get the offense struggling some without Francois but WTF has happened to the defense?
no shame in losing to Addazio. It's happening right before your eyes! Like watching mold growing on bread left on the window sill
Didn't want back to backs if that was the title gameW(hy)tf is Bedlam next week?
Kelly is one example after 4-8 in ‘16.gump said:What is happening to FSU is pretty alarming...we’ve been there (‘00) but with a coach who was completely in over his head. How often do really good coaches bounce back from a season like this?
Having a full round robin and a title game is monumentally stupid.Didn't want back to backs if that was the title game
Isn't this the last MAC Saturday of the season? The rare 11:30 AM ET start for UB/Akron today. Literally the best game in the country right now.
I don't know about the rest of the MAC teams, but this is UB's last Saturday game (as it has been in the past few years, not sure they've played a Saturday game past the end of October in years). Their last 3 games are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.Isn't this the last MAC Saturday of the season?
are you among them?Tens of fans dotting the stands in a downpour at Infocision Stadium right now as the Bulls score first.
