2017 College Football Thread: Hawaiian QB devastated to find out Jesus was "kinda rooting for Georgia" (1 Viewer)

What a joke. The Big Ten is the best conference in college football. If they were named the SEC they’d have 3 teams in the top 4 instead not one team in the top 5. What a slap in the face.

But, please, continue. Say LOL, add something snarky and pretend you’re the most intelligent creature god ever created. That is every interaction I’ve had with you.

I don't recall ever having any interaction with you.

What 3 Big 10 teams should be in the top-4? You made the ridiculous comment, not me.

This is great. I love how serious these boobs take themselves.

http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0717012957665433987-4 - @CFBHeather - "For those of you wondering about bias in the room -- nobody is allowed to wear their school logos in the meeting room. They also symbolically "check their hats at the door," a tradition started by former committee chair Jeff Long, who is still on the committee. They were all given hats with their names on them on Monday"
Say what now?

I'm just pissed that those A holes decided to slight Bama this week, for Christ's sake.  Couldn't have waited a week?  I hope their dork hats don't make them look cool at all.

He never did answer me. I guess the third team is Wisconsin? Jesus.
If Bucky wins out (however unlikely), they're probably in. But I don't know what that guy was talking about. They're right where they deserve to be right now.

Signed,
Bucky fan.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say undefeated Big 10 champs would definitely be in.

While I feel it necessary to beat down the "best conference" talk at every opportunity, I can't help but appreciate the irony of SEC fans leading the charge this time around.....well done

I only venture in here from time to time, but this thread is sharkpoolesque.

Yeah, I don't think anyone in the Top 10 can really complain. Lots of games left to make your case.

Also the four teams were Bama, FSU, OSU and either USC or Oklahoma, can't remember. I would still take that against the field. Don't know how that makes me wrong.
You were spot on bro.  Sorry I mentioned it.

You were right.  I was wrong.  Have a great one.

Go Seminoles!  Go Ducks!

Looking at them, probably the only Top 10 team that doesn't have it's destiny in its own hands is PSU.
I was about to question this too... How does PSU get in???

I've watched a healthy amount of CFB this year and I just don't think there are 4 better teams than them.

Bama/UGA winner in (assuming they both win out, which I think is probable) - the question becomes, if it is a tight game, are both in?

OSU - wins out and they're in

Wisconsin - wins out and they're in

ND - meh, they win out, are they in? Most likely. Are they better than PSU? I'd say no.

Clemson - are they in if they win out? That was a really ####ty loss at Cuse, I'd have no issue not letting them in... You can't lose a game like that and expect it to be forgiven, IMO of course.

OU - Impressive win at OSU, decent loss to a good ISU team, but nothing else really stands out to me on their resume

Miami - Nothing would be worse than them winning out. I'm just so unsold on this team

Pac - I've written this conference off, maybe some east coast bias, but no way should any team there be in over PSU IMO.

They did last year with a loss to Pitt
It'll depend on the landscape of course, but if Bama/UGA win out and play a close game in the SEC Championship, no way I'd put Clemson in over either of them. If PSU dominates for the remainder of the season, no way I'd put them in over them either. Same with the winner of OSU / Wisconsin.

Obviously they wouldn't put 2 B1G teams & 2 SEC teams, but I'd have no issue if it wound up Bama/UGA/OSU/PSU if all won out and Bama/UGA played a tight game.

Committee has set ND up so that if they win out and UGA's only loss is to Bama, ND could leapfrog into 2nd and finish ahead of a team they lost to(at South Bend).

Penn State's only way in IMO is for Ohio State to stumble in the regular season, get Penn State into B1G championship game and beat Wisconsin.

FYP

For PSU to get into the championship game, OSU would have to lose 2 of: @Iowa, Sparty, Illinois and @UM. At least I think so, since they have the H2H tiebreaker vs PSU.  Not sure if there's a 3-way scenario possible that gets them in.

ETA: There isn't.  PSU-Sparty this week, and they're the only other current 1-loss team in the division.

You are right about the 2 way tie.

If they lose to Sparty, you'd have a 3-way tie and most conferences' tie-breaker is highest ranking.

Edit - never mind, the B1G is convoluted according to Wikipedia. Looks like if tOSU, PSU, and Sparty all finish with 1 conference loss, Nittany Lions would go because they have best winning pct.

Three or more-team tiebreaker procedure

If only two teams remain after any of the following steps, the tiebreaker will revert to the two-team tiebreaker above.

The records of the three tied teams will be compared against each other.

The records of the three tied teams will be compared within their division.

The records of the three tied teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5, and 6).

The records of the three tied teams will be compared against all common conference opponents.

The team with the best overall winning percentage (excluding exempted games) will be the representative.

The representative will be chosen by random draw.
