2017 College Football Thread: Hawaiian QB devastated to find out Jesus was "kinda rooting for Georgia" (1 Viewer)

I'm not a 1000% convinced on him but I am excited for a coach who doesn't game plan Wake Forest and Boston College as talent equals and will take full advantage of his massive team talent advantage.

Also, a guy who won't wait 35 seconds to get every play in and understands 4th down basic math. Going to be refreshing.

Holding onto a single recruiting class is never worth hiring the wrong coach.
This is literally how Rutgers ended up with Kyle Flood. Schiano left like 6 days before NSD of what was our best class during his tenure (top 25 on Rivals).

That class was "saved" and Flood managed to have a whole class worth of kids wash out through arrests and/or transfers down to FCS within a few years.

Josh Heupel becomes UCF HC.  WoW!    Venebles being thrown around as well for a HC.   Sooners DNA starting to spread out.

Richt is now the longest tenured FBS head coach in the state of Florida.

I was very critical of Heupel at the end of his run at OU but am very happy to see him get a great job like UCF. Bring them into the Big 12 an let WVU pick whoever as the 12th school so they can have a travel buddy.

After Barkley burnt OSU twice, OSU shut him down for the rest of the game. Here are his stats just after his 36 yard TD run in the 2nd quarter:

3 carries for 35 yards and a TD, 3 catches for 23 yards, 1 kick return for 97 yards and 1 TD (7 plays for 155 yards and 2 TDs)
Those are pretty awesome stats to have at just 11:40 to go in the 2nd quarter. But here are his stats from that point on for the rest of the game:

18 carries for 9 yards, 1 catch for 0 yards, 1 kick return for 8 yards (20 plays for 17 yards).
That's all he could do for the last 41:40 of the game. So much for his Heisman chances.

I don't know that Barkley lost the Heisman yesterday....i mean, he did return the opening kickoff to the house.
Well, now we know.

:bye:  Heisman.

My nonothing ### thinks Morris is a good fit for Arkansas.  Runs a spread offense, knows texas high school and the dwf area.  Will be able to recruit well.  Also if Venables is the D coordinator, it’s a big win for Arkansas.
Why would Venables leave Clemson for Arkansas at the same position?  I want Venables for HC

I really don't know anything about him.  Nota  great record, but it's SMU.  All I know is what is on his wikipedia page.

Leavitt posted on Twitter he is still looking to be a head coach somewhere.  Very surprised Oregon didn't offer him the job.  Leavitt told recruits the past few days he was staying at Oregon no matter what Taggart did.  If he leaves with Taggart like it now sounds he has no integrity either.

Now I agree bringing in someone new if Leavitt is in fact gone.  BSU coach, Wilcox, Sumlin,Memphis coach, all possibilities.

Morris was awesome at Clemson and brought our offense into the new era of college football.  He had a lot of talent in his tenure with us but was pretty inventive with his play calling and got pretty solid results. I think he’ll do well.

On the BV thing, I just can’t understand why he would ever go to Arkansas to be a DC. HC I get, but how do you take the same position at a school that, no offense, isn’t on the same level right now.  He’s getting to scheme with a near endless supply of NFL talent coming through at the moment, so why would he want to be 3rd or 4th in line in his own division players?  I mean if he goes and that’s what he wants, more power to him but that would just shock the hell out of me.

Most Oregon fans are upset at the way he handled it.  I have heard that Taggart is the one that initially reached out to FSU, not vice versa, slimey.  Last Friday Taggart was asked by media "Have you been contacted by Florida State?"  He responded "no".  Today, Oregon AD stated Taggart told him last Thursday that he had spoken to Florida State.  Taggart was asked if he would be coaching the bowl game last week and his response was "why wouldn't I?".

It Taggart would have simply been honest with folks it would have gone a long ways.  Look how Frost handled leaving UCF to go home to Nebraska, much, much better.

He probably didn't get contacted by FSU. But his agent did.

An Oregon fan not understanding how this stuff works is amazing.

That's not what you said though. You said if Leavitt leaves he has no integrity. Now you're just moving the sticks because you know how stupid this stance is.

I hope Wisconsin wins next week.  I hate tOSu, their stupid fans, and their Fred Sanford (I'm coming to see you Elizabeth!) cheating coach.  But I think the Buckeyes win by a lot, so that sucks.

The SEC Champ and the ACC Champ are in.

If Wisconsin wins they're in.

If Oklahoma wins they're in.  That would be the four.

If OU or Wisconsin lose Bama is in.

If both OU and Wisconsin lose then tOSU and Alabama are probably in, even though OU and tOSU would have two losses and OU beat them head to head.

I think Clemson v Alabama and OU v Georgia are the playoff games.
Damn, this guy is good.
