FIFYHoly ####. I'm sitting in a hotel in Oregon watching the local news after the Ravens vs Steelers game and Joey Heisman is the sports guy. I guess that's better than selling playground equipment. Just thought it was interesting timing after these comments.
Edit: I guess he's 1 of 3 sports guys on KGW8.![]()
Charlie Batch is a businessman.Holy ####. I'm sitting in a hotel in Oregon watching the local news after the Ravens vs Steelers game and Joey Harrington is the sports guy. I guess that's better than selling playground equipment. Just thought it was interesting timing after these comments.

I wonder if he starts Day 1. He doesn’t sit a year, correct?Shea Patterson to Michigan is official.
Good pickup for the Wolverines.
Allegedly he (and the other Ole Miss guys) are confident they won't have to sit out. They are appealing the ruling.I wonder if he starts Day 1. He doesn’t sit a year, correct?
Let the legit QB competition beginShea Patterson to Michigan is official.
Good pickup for the Wolverines.
Patterson is a stud. If he's eligible , he'll start IMO.Let the legit QB competition begin![]()
The floor here is "game manager Peters" which is an upgrade from "O'Korn"
He's doing fine. He owns a restaurant, does some sports, works when he wants, is a dad the rest of the time. There are a lot more former athletes doing way worse than Joey Harrington. He's a damn good guy, too. Does a LOT for charity.Holy ####. I'm sitting in a hotel in Oregon watching the local news after the Ravens vs Steelers game and Joey Harrington is the sports guy. Plays a mean piano too. He's doing fine. He owns a restaurant, does some sports, works when he wants, is a dad the rest of the time. There are a lot more former athletes doing way worse than Joey Harrington. He's a damn good guy, too. Does a LOT for charity.
He's a rock star out here. Everybody loves Joey.I believe that. Always seemed like a class act. Wasn't trying to put him down. Just thought the timing was funny after I brought Crouch's name up.
There was a post on 247 that claimed Leavitt called a player's meeting yesterday and said he is staying at Oregon. However, multiple posters claimed this was not true and I find it hard to believe that players would not have tweeted about it if it were true.So @Don't Noonan and @General Malaise, my dad texted me today that Leavitt stayed at Oregon. Is this true? I can't find it anywhere.
Haha you sound just like my dad. Well I wish Oregon had named him HC, but hopefully Uncle Phil realizes Mario might be screwed without Leavitt and kicks in enough Jordans to keep him. There was a post on 247 that claimed Leavitt called a player's meeting yesterday and said he is staying at Oregon. Leavitt has been extremely quiet but everything I have heard is that they are trying to keep him but he is likely following the weasel to FSU. He has family ties in Florida, no state income tax, and the biggest reason is the state retirement benefits he would get by returning to Florida. His pension looks at his top 5 years earnings in Florida to determine his retirement income. If FSU pays him $1.15 to match his current salary it would increase his pension around $40-$50k per year in retirement because it would drop two lower years of income to replace with his highest.
All that being said, it would not shock me if Oregon upped the ante and paid him $1.5M and he decided to stay.
Oregon Public Employee Retirement Former Ducks Coach Belotti makes almost $50k/MONTH. Gotta love the People's Republic of Oregon.I've never heard of a college football coach getting a state pension.
The thought here is that one of the reasons Mark Whipple came out of retirement (he was out of football for a year and living in Arizona) and came back to UMass is because he needed four more years after he was here for six years in his first stint. It kicked it at the end of this season (top three earnings years for Mass. state employees) ... Plus he is getting an undetermined extension beyond the final year of his deal next season.I've never heard of a college football coach getting a state pension.
Most coaches who stay long enough at a State school will get pensions. The problem today is coaches don't stay long enough to receive them.I've never heard of a college football coach getting a state pension.
Mine does not (of course I have little outrage for Taggart, just disappointment at anything that sets the program back). This is going to happen more and more for players of teams not in the playoffs/major bowls. But when I texted my dad the news today he made some connection between money-hungry players and how this kid probably won't stand for the anthem.Fat Drunk and Stupid said:So, does our Oregon outrage toward Taggart extend ro Royce Freeman?
It's not really his fault. He shouldn't be in this position. It's hysterical one of the 30 best jobs in America is headed by that guy. At least it will probably be bad enough that it should last only one year.Oh my god this ####### sucks. Hate this coach so much already.
Tell Uncle Phil you made a terrible mistake. Fire him at halftime. It's not really his fault. He shouldn't be in this position. It's hysterical one of the 30 best jobs in America is headed by that guy. At least it will probably be bad enough that it should last only one year.
Kept the recruiting class somewhat together. My god. This is an unmitigated abortion. What have we done?
Impressive tackling by C-St just now in the other gameNice wrap up![]()
Legarrette Blount is unimpressed.LOL #20 just threw the football at the Boise guy
Yeah that was ugly to watch today. Definitely lowering my expectations for next year. The offensive line was atrocious and given that is Cristobal expertise even more disappointing.General Malaise said:Can't wait for a full season of Cristobal.

Source tells me Jim Leavitt is expected to head to FSU with Taggart.
Leavitt has agreed to stay at Oregon. Great news for the Ducks.Noonan with duck egg on his face tbh.
