2017 "How did I do" Thread (1 Viewer)

Drafting daily beginning tonight through 09/07.

Draft Positions assigned so far: 3, 5, 6, 9, 12, 12...waiting on 3 others to fill. You'd think with that many draws, I'd get at least one share of Johnson/Bell, but no luck so far...

The finale.

From the 10:

QB: Ryan (10)

RB: Zeke (1), Gordon (2), McCaffrey (3), Gillislie (7), Rodgers (11), Kamara (14), Joe Will (19)

WR: Pryor (4), Adams (5), DJax (8), Kupp (12), Doctson (13), Mitchell (20)

TE: Eifert (6), Hooper (9), Davis (17)

D: Sea (15), NYG (18)

K: Tucker (16)

GL to all during the season.

Last night, 6th Position - couldn't resist Zeke falling to 2.07, went RB-heavy and off-script (Brady in 4th) to mitigate possible suspension. For waiting on WR, very stoked about crew I landed, Huge on Hooper this year, was able to mine some depth there as well...

Brady/4, Stafford/12

Freeman/1, Zeke/2, Fournette/3, Abdullah/5, JHill/17, AMorris/19

Crowder/6, Marshall/7, Hogan/8, JoBrown/10, Ginn/11, Golladay/13, Beasley/14

Hooper/9, Gates/16, Kittle/18

McManus/20

Seahawks/15

Hi guys, I just found this thread...Im drafting in my first FBGs league tomorrow (spot 5) and using the Draft dominator for the first time. Im not really sure how to attack the draft, any advice or input? Im definitely waiting on QB and thinking of waiting on TE but when I draft a TE Ill get 2 in short order like TE 10-14? DD keeps throwing up WRS for the first 3 rounds in all my mocks. Anyway, Ill post my team tomorrow....thanks in advance!

From the 1 spot:

Strategy:  Build solid core (1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE quickly).  Fill out starters, then all backups, choose upside.

  • QB:  Winston (10), Flacco (16).  Flacco had best matchup in Week 11 for Winston's bye week.
  • RB:  Bell (1), Miller (3), West (7), Perkins (8), McFadden (11), Perine (13), K. Williams (17).  Yes, went Bell over DJ.  I live in PA.  At 7/8 I couldn't pass up on starting RBs still on the board.  McFadden gave me DAL starter if Zeke misses time, and Perine/Williams for all upside.
  • WR:  Bryant (2), Watkins (6), Wallace (9), M. Williams (12), A. Stewart (20).  Weakest part of the squad, but also most easy to overcome.  I think WRs are deep and I plan on swinging big for the FA that shows up.  Really big on Stewart as I think the NYJ wing it most of the year.
  • TE:  Reed (4), Rudolph (5), Howard (15), James (19).  I liked the Reed/Rudolph combo.  Planning on starting both of them all year.
  • PK:  Lutz
  • DEF:  Minnesota
Thoughts?

Just drafted in the main -- my only one this year.

QB: Winston (10), Manning (15)

RB: Lynch (4), Ingram (7), Kelley (8), Forte (11), Sims (12), Lewis (17)

WR: OBJ (1), Demaryius Thomas (3), Martavis Bryant (5), Desean Jackson (9), Robby Anderson (13), Shepard (14), Torrey Smith (19)

TE: Kelce (2), Rudolph (6), Cook (16)

K: Santos

D: Bills

Like this team a lot better then my three FBG ones so hoping for the best.

I wish you were in my draft.  i went second last night and was hoping the #1 guy would go Bell.  That being said, I think either one is a great pick.  I don't know why you even bothered getting a second QB if the bye isn't unitl week 11.  You could ride Jameis until you have to pick up a filler.  Lots will change from now to then.

Agree with your take on the WR.  Not very dependable group there.  If you find the waiver wire darling, it should be fine.

If Zeke plays, I don't see your second flex.  You really trusting West or Perkins there?  Maybe you go 3 TE set for week 1, but who knows if James will even be used with the addition of McDonald.

You say you went with upside, but I am not seeing it in a lot of your backups.  Just bench fodder in a redraft, unless an injury happens.

Good luck!

My last FBG team from the 2 spot.  I am not happy.  Missed out on just about everything I was looking for.  Maybe others have a different take.

QB: Big Ben (9), Wentz (17)

RB: Bell (1), Martin (6), Gilislee (7), Quiz (10), Hill (15), Spiller (20)

WR: Cooper (2), Tate (3), Jeffrey (4), Theilen (8), R. Matthews (11). Robby Anderson (13). White(14), JJ Nelson (16)

TE: Eifert (5), Clay (12)

PK: Mcmanus (18)

DEF: BUF (19) (week 1 against the Jets, will stream all year)

Actually, as I type this the next morning, it isn't as bad as I thought last night, but still might need some work done.

My first chance from the 1 spot this past weekend -

QB: Mariotta (9) Dalton (13)

RB:  D Johnson (1) McCaffrey (2), D Cook (3),  Kamara (11), Deandre Washington(15), Darkwa (19), McKinnon(20)

WR: Jeffrey (4), T Pryor (5), B Marshall(6), Garcon(7), Shepard (12), Amendola (14)

TE: Doyle (8), Fleener (10), Engram (15)

PK: Koo (18)

Def: Steelers (17)

From the 11 spot

qb: Russell Wilson

rb: Demarco Murray, Lynch, Woodhead, Lacy, James White, Jeremy Hill

wr: Evans, Tyreek Hill, Cobb, Marvin Jones, Lockett, Mike Williams, Kevin White

TE: Hunter Henry, Swoope, Higbee, OJ Howard

k: gostkowski

d: Hawks

BEND THE KNEE Da Gildz!

Total Domination
Two weeks later I feel even better about this.

Really? why? Haha.

All kidding aside, there's bad vibes with a lot of these guys you have rostered.   Not sure what you're looking at to be quite honest. Flexing a Woodhead/Cobb duo?  That gets u pumped ? Henry and a bunch of air at TE? This lineup would have me as excited as sitting in traffic on the commute home.

I know I know.  I'm glad you don't love it Gildz....Yada yada, snooze, yada.

Love your kicker tho.

Pretty solid.  You paid a premium for Cook and McCaffrey but the value you got on those WR's helps offset that some.  Haven't seen Pryor in rd 5 in forever.  Shocked u got him there this weekend even.  You should cakewalk to the postseason.  Assuming health of course.

It does leave a blah type feeling I gotta say.  Just don't see any value here.  Tate at 3.2?? He was the best available at that spot?  Seems like an egregious reach.  I like him and he's solid but you know what you're getting there.  Low ceiling for investing that kind of pick.  I want the upside there with a potential WR1.  Or even doubling up at RB.  It's decent overall.  But for a Bell team, it's on the weaker side.

You need your vibe-radar re-calibrated bro. Woodhead is a year removed from top 3 in this format and check Cobbs splits/see what he did when healthy last year. I think Nelson/Adams TD totals regress and move towards Cobb. Im thin at TE for now.....love the depth on my squad.

Plenty of peeps think Cobb is the guy. Sorry you bought lots of shares in Adams?

Not bad but not jazzed after seeing it either.  What pick did you have 6/7/8 something like that I take it?

TEs are strong but you will need a lot to go right after that IMO.  Not big on Ingram though so maybe that is why, I think AP is the better choice there.  They tried to trade him during the draft and he has always been in payton's doghouse.

No one commented on my ME so maybe I am the crazy one.  We shall see pretty soon though and cannot wait.  I wish you the best of luck this year.

Don't hate it but would liked to see one more RB in there.  Not sold on Gillislee this year. He might have some good games but good luck guessing which ones.

I had decided to just do best ball leagues this year (mostly MFL10's) but got the itch Labor Day weekend and drafted a 3-pack. I like this team the best. My 2nd draft, got the 2nd pick. Not sure if I adjusted my strategy all that well going from the MFL10 to FPC contest, but can be competitive if Powell and Ingram live up to my expectations (RB2's) and/or I get lucky with the WW.

Week 1, I still haven't figured out who I want in my Flex2. Waiting for Maclin, Bennett or Wright to whisper a little something in my ear.

Roethlisberger, Ben 9, Prescott, Dak 10

Bell, Le'Veon 1, Powell, Bilal 5, Ingram, Mark 6, Bernard, Giovani 11, Lewis, Dion 18, Brown, Malcolm 19

Bryant, Dez 2, Thomas, Demaryius 3, Maclin, Jeremy 8, Wright, Kendall 12, Beasley, Cole 13, Woods, Robert 14, Stills, Kenny 20

Ertz, Zach 4, Bennett, Martellus 7,McDonald, Vance 17

Crosby, Mason

I see some nice teams posted here. GL all.

This seems like a team that has a good shot at the playoffs so long as one of your later round guys works out which I suspect they will.

Did two more main events (so 3 main and 3 FBG this year):

From 6 (Friday night):

QB: Winston (10), Stafford (12)

RB: Montgomery (3), Miller (4), Perkins (8), J Rodgers (11), Sims (13), Buck Allen (15), Zenner (20)

WR: Julio (1), Hill (2-- remember this is after Thursday night), Martavis Bryant (5), Kevin White (9), Torrey Smith (14), Travis Benjamin (17)

TE: Ertz (6), Henry (7), Kittle (16)

K/D: Pittsburgh/Prater

From 1 (Today): like this team the most out of all of my teams ...... I know WRs are weak but its easiest place to get options on waivers and took bunch of gambles late.

QB: Alex Smith (10), Cam Newton (11)

RB: David Johnson (1), Jordan Howard (2), Tevin Coleman (7), Donta Foreman (13), Sims (14)

WR: Tate (5), Matthews (6), Maclin (8), Shepard (9), Kendall Wright (12), Robby Anderson (15), Funchess (17), Marquise Goodwin (18)

TE: Kelce (3), Reed (4), Watson (16)

K/D: Pittsburgh/Walsh

Anyone have any thoughts?

I also like team 2 better.

I wouldn't call your WR's weak. There may not be a big stud in the group, but if Maclin and Wright are as productive as I think they're going to be, you should have solid starters every week.

Studly at RB & TE.

You got a great week 1 out of Alex Smith, but I'm not sure what to expect out of either of your QB's the rest of the season (i think of Smith as a QB2 & Newton's performance last year doesn't inspire me). If one or both can be relied upon as a QB1 each week, I think this team can dominate.

This decision may not be that important this week. The guy I'm playing against this just picked up Goff to sub in for Luck (he only drafted one QB). He's got Hurns in for Landry (Cameron Meredith and John Ross are the only other WR's on his bench).

I'm not sure what this guy is doing. He dropped Ryan Mathews for Kenneth Dixon ($1 bid, such a deal).

He does have Gronk and Olsen, but I don't think they will make up for the rest of his team.

Probably bad karma to have posted this, but this team just seems so weird.

First and only main team:

QB: Cam (9), Cutler (18)

RB: Zeke (1), Cook (2), Riddick (7), McFadden (11), Breida (12), L Murray (14)

WR: Adams (4), Crowder (6), DJax (8), J Brown (10), Shepard (13), Treadwell (20)

TE: Kelce (3), Eifert (5), Howard (16)

Def: KC (15), Buff (19 - for this week)

K: Gostkowski (17)

Well , so much for my second team with David Johnson's injury -- supposedly out several weeks. Painful

Don't like the receivers but the rest of team looks very strong. Hopefully, for your team Kelce and Eifert play better throughout the rest of the season (I suspect they will)

I sure hope so. Dalton looked like hot garbage.  On a 4 day week now to boot.  Are Eifert owners rolling him out this week?

What a gross week 1.  Luckily I was able to play someone even crapper in the main.

Sitting at #2 overall in the Main event with 211+

I would be in first had I started Kizer over Big Ben  :P

Long way to go, but its a good start.  I just hope its not like last year where all my teams juxtaposed week 1 to week 2.

Did you take Hunt and bank his 47 Pts in the 1st rd?  Assuming so. Don't see another 1st rd pick there.  Definitely gave those teams a crazy boost given how crappy this week was all around.  The guy in mine took him over Bell at 2.  Thought it was crazy at the time.  Perhaps not.

yeah, I definitely did.  I reasoned it (now unfortunately proven by the DJ injury) that I am banking 47 points no matter what happens from there on out,  I took him 4th overall after DJ, Bell, Zeke (news broke on Zeke not long before the draft, so that helped)  I also reached a round for a lot of my guys because i wanted to make sure I got them.  I am ok with it, and I hope it works out for me.  I usually draft for value, but after I drafted such a crappy team in my last FBG draft missing out on so many guys I wanted, I decided to take the other approach and not wait for the guys I liked.

It is funny(ironic) now looking at week 1 but most of the first round picks did not really do much.  I can only think of Brown and MAYBE McCoy or Jordy who really didn't disappoint in week 1.  Of course, this might prove to be a losing long term strategy, but its still fun to be where I am right now.  I felt pretty good about it after the draft, and obviously got some breaks, but am definitely worried about my RB depth.  Going to be looking hard at the waiver wire.  Feel great about WR top to bottom.  TE should be good enough to compete.

I can see falling off a bit in week 2 as I think we will see more of pre-draft expectations come to fruition.

Yep hard to argue banking those Pts.  Would have gone DJ and Bell over him for sure.  Zeke probably a tough call after his news broke.  But at pick 4 there's no decision there. 47 Pts just too big to pass on in an 11-week season.  Even saw Alex Smith going in the 9th. That seemed egregious even with his good game in hand.  But maybe not if you back him up the next round.   It definitely throws a wrinkle into things.  Gostkowski lasted till the 17th in mine when I took him.  He scored 9+ so I didn't get that. Guess owners wanted better and not have to draft 2 k's?  Odd.  Kelce also lasted to 3.4.  Wild.  His 11 Pts dropped him.  Probably was what the #4 TE this week? Ha.   Your team looks big time.  Howard would concern me some.  Think Cohen will put a real dent into his production.  But after that not much not to like.  Especially if Theilen is now a younger Jordy Nelson.

Eifert is going to SUCK this year.  That line is horrible and when healthy he will be staying in to block I think.  They have got to fix that line for any hope.

Lots of injuries early which I'm sure will change up a lot of the standings over the next few weeks. It'll be an interesting stretch to the playoffs.

This place has been a ghost town.  How is everyone's season going?  Been a mixed bag for me.  A few good ones, couple dumpster fires and some in between.  Let's see your best teams or your favorite at least...Here's mine

QB: Watson, Ryan, Dalton

RB: Gurley, Fournette, Mccaffrey, Kamara, Washington

WR: A Brown,  Maclin, Shepard, J Brown, Schuster, Doctson, Marshall

TE:  Henry, Olsen, Eifert

K: Tucker

D: Buff

If Olsen and/or Eifert ever make it back, should be an interesting finish.  I'll sign for 1 even.

Of my teams, this is still the one I have most confidence in (but not that much really). Currently 4 - 1. I've been very lucky in my match ups.

Roethlisberger, Ben 9, Prescott, Dak 10 - Not a great start at QB, but hoping it turns around. Not much on the WW.

Bell, Le'Veon 1, Powell, Bilal 5, Ingram, Mark 6, Bernard, Giovani 11, Lewis, Dion 18, Brown, Malcolm 19, Collins, Alex BAL - Looked like Powell was going to recover from his poor start, but injuries can linger. Looking for Ingram to get a bump in usage with AP gone. Bell's production on the rise.

Bryant, Dez 2, Thomas, Demaryius 3, Maclin, Jeremy 8, Wright, Kendall 12, Beasley, Cole 13, Woods, Robert 14, Stills, Kenny 20Amendola, Danny NE , - My drafted WR's not doing as well as I hoped. Amendola could be a little boost.

Ertz, Zach 4, Bennett, Martellus 7,McDonald, Vance 17 ,Watson, Benjamin BAL  - Ertz!

Crosby, MasonHopkins, Dustin WAS

I didn't play this year, but this looks really nice, especially if Shepard can come back healthy and be the man for the Giants. Who have you picked up for tight ends?

Dak has been great so far, not sure what you are worried about. Hopefully you only have to start Ben once.

Bell is starting to pick it up and I think he finishes as rb1 the rest of the way, Peterson getting cut is looking really nice too. Lewis could be on the rise as well.

You need to find a boost with receivers. Dez and DT are fine for 1 and 2, but you really don't have a flex guy.

Ertz is awesome and Watson has been helping, maybe Hundley will look towards Bennett more than Rodgers did.

Pretty solid team, but you need some good flex guys to keep it going.

Thanks! Yeah, I actually do like this team, I think I freaked out a little due to the slow start from a couple of guys. Being 1 point ahead of the next highest scoring team, and that team losing A Rodgers, is a good sign for making the playoffs in this league (damn, these 11 week regular season contests are so quick).

I had high hopes for Big Ben because of he weapons I thought he had at his disposal. Settling in on Dak has worked out.

Bell's slow start and Powell's role not being as significant as I had hoped had me in a little panic. Feeling a lot better with Bell and Ingram. Powell, Lewis and maybe even Collins can factor in at flex.

Dez and DT are both past their byes. I do like my other WR's in support, but probably need a little luck in flexing them the right weeks.

TE is looking solid. Ertz is an example of luck winning out when Reed, Olsen & Graham were gone in the 4th round before I got a chance to pick them.

GL this week.

Picked up Fleener this week.  Just hoping to ride Henry and get Olsen back for the stretch run.  Added Corey Davis there as well.  Pretty loaded.  Likely will play the wrong guys when it counts.  Here's another team pts are avg but 6-1 and should get in the dance.  Couple others I like more but not in as good of shape at the moment..

QB: Smith, Carr, Dalton

RB:  Zeke, McCaffrey, Kamara, Henry, C West, Yeldon

WR: DJax, Cobb, Ginn, Lee, Crowder

TE: Gronk, Rudolph, Griffin

Def: NO

K: Zeurline, Boswell

Will need Gronk to stay upright and Zeke playing to have any chance.   Ginn and DJax while average both have cupcake champ rd schedules.  Just $30 left only here

11 weeks and miss by 0.05. Damn that's close. No guarantee to the big dance, but still a 3rd or 4th seed though.

Good luck!

So, after I made this post I lost the next 3 weeks in a row.
Apparently, Dak needs a dominate O line and RB to be productive, and Ertz needed a break.

OTOH - I still made the playoffs as the #2 seed and I'm the only team in this league >1500 points. I'm ready  :boxing:
Lewis looks like a starter to me. Unless something happens, I think I going to trust Ben over Dak the next few weeks. So my tough decision will just be my Flex2 (Maclin, Ben Watson, Amendola, Alex Collins).

GL all

Had a pretty solid year.  5 teams in playoffs.  4 of 5 in champ rds.  Including my only main team.  Was close to getting that 5th in the dance also.  Instead I get the 4 seed and have to play a top 20 OA team who went 11-0 in rd 1.

GL to all

Alvin Kamara for President.
