Murray had a real good game but they helped him out a lot. 51 shots on goal plus another 20? missed. And a lot of them better opportunities than the actual recorded shots. Frustrating to watch these guys try to offense.Murray came up huge for Penguins.
Malkin could be looking at a suspension here
@YahooSportsNHL: Super ugly stick swing from Geno Malkin. Yikes. https://twitter.com/BarstoolJordie/status/1095149297895657472/photo/1
Leafs actually played really well (aside from their PP, which is simply off the charts poor this year, all year) - was impressive to see Georgiev stand on his head like that (on his birthday to boot!) with such an incredible performance.55-60 saves the other night for the Georgiev against the Leafs.
That was sick. Nice steal of a win.
Love watching the Leafs play this year.
Speed.
No, they're dynamic.
Loved watching Hyman stick up for Marner, even though the play looked more like an accident than a cheap hit.Leafs actually played really well (aside from their PP, which is simply off the charts poor this year, all year) - was impressive to see Georgiev stand on his head like that (on his birthday to boot!) with such an incredible performance.
Don't like watching the Leafs lose, but if you like hockey, you have to like watching a goalie performance like that -- place the entire team on his shoulders and staved off 55 shots.
LOL, you are right about looking like an accident. We are a decidedly "unheavy" team, even with the addition of Muzzin. We could use some of that old Gilmore/Tucker/Domi/Wendel/Tiger grit. Kadri brings it, but that's about it.Loved watching Hyman stick up for Marner, even though the play looked more like an accident than a cheap hit.
Zibanejad has been unbelievable. If he keeps this up for the next couple years while the rest of the team fills in around him they'll be back to being a real contender much quicker than expected.Think maybe it's time for Zibanejad, Kreider and Zuuc to get the flu or something. Pretty sure Rangers couldn't be competitive in a game without them and lose for Hughes would be in full effect.
not sure why last night would lead you to the Dubnyk conclusion. only one you can really pick on him for was the Giroux goal but that was a hell of a shot.BeTheMatch said:The Wild are unwatchable. Dubnyk is the most overrated player in human history. Staal, Granlund and Zucker are worthless. Suter has one foot in the grave. Good times ahead.
Absolutely. But he's worthless to THIS team. Because they can't hit open nets. He should probably have about 200 assists.not sure why last night would lead you to the Dubnyk conclusion. only one you can really pick on him for was the Giroux goal but that was a hell of a shot.
when Fenton trades Granlund for a bag of pucks and he starts skating with finishers he's going to be a point per game player.
I thought several of the goals last night were on Dubnyk. Make a save once in a while. When the team needs it. And he never - EVER - takes accountability for anything. He's not afraid to throw the rest of the team under the bus, but I've never heard him say he's got to be better or a loss was on him.not sure why last night would lead you to the Dubnyk conclusion. only one you can really pick on him for was the Giroux goal but that was a hell of a shot.
Sounds like Elliott ####ed up again.I thought several of the goals last night were on Dubnyk. Make a save once in a while. When the team needs it. Last night didn't lead me to this conclusion. The last three years have led me to that conclusion. He is mentally weak. He epitomizes this team's inconsistency. He gives up on plays all the time. He'd rather complain to the official - while the puck is still in play - than just shut up and make a save. Constantly lets in soft goals. Does the D hang him out sometimes? Sure. But the Wild defense is actually better than most of the crap teams in this league are rolling out there, so I don't think that's valid to blame them.
Has he been very good at times? Yes. Just not nearly enough. And nowhere close to as often as people seem to think. An all-star? That's a joke.
Im surprised that Peg let Hayes go home last night. I thought for sure they would announce a deal after the game last nightlet's see some trades
Sounds familiar.not sure why last night would lead you to the Dubnyk conclusion. only one you can really pick on him for was the Giroux goal but that was a hell of a shot.

What did you say about Roman Turek and Ryan Miller?nothing brings out irrational emotion like goaltending IMO. guess it comes with the territory of being the last line of defense.
I guess I fished my wish with their performance against the Avs Tuesday. We'll see if it holds up going forward. A big difference was spreading out a little more and not just have Marner shoot it in. A bigger difference will be their ability to control entry, which is something that has been sorely lacking.Leafs actually played really well (aside from their PP, which is simply off the charts poor this year, all year)
Yeah we do, but you gotta take Allen back.Fenton officially got permission today from the owner to blow up the Wild. So we'll see how much happens in the next 11 days and how much happens this summer. Would think you have to take whatever you can get for Staal, Fehr, Pateryn, etc. Maybe they can swing something bigger with Granlund, Zucker and/or Coyle. Any playoff teams need a goalie?
First Fletcher traded so many picks for virtually nothing. Remember Martin Hanzal? In exchange, the Wild sent a haul of draft picks, including a 2017 first-round pick, a 2018 second-round pick, and a 2019 conditional fourth-round pick. hopefully the wings move anyone with a pulse that can be moved....Howard, Nyquist, Kronwall, Green, Daly, Helm, Abdelkader, Glendenning, Ericsson....Nielsen, Vanek even Dekeyser.let's see some trades
Updating... Last night against a putrid Devils team, Dubnyk turned in one of the ugliest performances of the season by any goalie. And continued to blame his teammates. And accept no responsibility basically. If you'd like a good laugh, check out the youtube highlights from the game. A golden retriever would've stopped at least three of those goals.I thought several of the goals last night were on Dubnyk. Make a save once in a while. When the team needs it. Leafs simply got out-hustled all night in all three areas the ice, especially in their defensive zone. They looked flat and unispired.rockaction said:Thorough domination of Toronto tonight by Arizona. Good God, did Toronto look bad. 2-0 and it wasn't that close.
And if Auston Matthews keeps playing the left side of the power play with a left handed shot, I'm going to go bat#### real soon. That's an awful set up. He's firing away at no angle.
Arizona three points out of a playoff spot.
Yeah, that was a down game for Toronto for sure. I like watching them, but the other night was a disaster. Arizona did surprise me with their team speed, unless Toronto just was totally flat. They got out skated and out hustled.Leafs simply got out-hustled all night in all three areas the ice, especially in their defensive zone. They looked flat and unispired.
Coyotes -- who definitely are speedy and took advantage of their quickness all night -- put on a forecheck clinic. Babcock got outcoached, and did not make as many adjustments as he should have.
Bad game for both players and coaching staff.
Coyote's style of play in terms of leveraging speed to fore- and backcheck and clog up the neutral zone has been noticeable over the last few years. Definitely a part of their gameplan.Yeah, that was a down game for Toronto for sure. I like watching them, but the other night was a disaster.
