2020-21 NBA *Playoffs* Thread: Bucks are the champs and you can take that to the bank bromigos (2 Viewers)

Players like Giannis are the new face of the NBA.  The man after games is all class..so refreshing and unlike hearing Lebron after games.

Hope Lebron watched a took a lesson.  Can an old dog learn new tricks though?

Woke up this morning just JACKED thinking about what it's gonna be like at the Fiserv on Tuesday. I was at Lambeau when the Packers won the 1996 NFC Championship and watched them win a couple Super Bowls on TV, and I was at Miller Park when the Brewers made a run at the World Series in '18, but I've never had an opportunity to possibly be there IN PERSON to see my team win it all. I really, really hope they can pull it off.
I hope you get to experience at some point. I was there when the Celtics finished the Rockets back in 1986 and I still remember that feeling.

well, i picked the right time to watch my first bit of the Finals. i switched over after Sox/Yankees got rained out. pleasure to see some actual D played for a while. of course, the Suns made it easy for the Bucks - Booker went into full Jayson-Tatum-sucks-the air-out-da-ball iso mode and, while i love any chance to harsh CP3, the guy is plainly hurt. he shonuff nursing a shoulder - couldnt improvise at all, made some 3s only when he had time to bounce, step, shoot. you could almost see him counting it off. hella game, tho - might even tune in tues to fear s'more deer.

I was in championship cities in 1977 (Trailblazers), 1979 (Sonics!) and 2006 (Colts)

Closest thing i got to attending the penultimate moment was in 2006, at the AFC Championship game.

That felt like a Super Bowl, beating the Pats...

I'm making the trip for game 6 from Vegas for the 2nd time this series (was also there at Fiserv for game 3). There's no way I was going to miss this. Besides, Giannis wants us to be loud and I took that personally....

That's awesome!!   Man, being there for 2 NBA Finals games?!?!   Go Bucks!
My decision to buy season tickets (granting me face-value access to all of these games) is one of the best decisions I've ever made.  I paid $450 for finals tickets that are selling for $2,500 right now on the secondary market.

Yea my wife and I went to all our games but my friend sold one of her seats for each finals game for 2k. Made me regret not buying more season tickets years ago.

We had an opportunity during the Atlanta series to buy up to 4 more tickets to each Finals game and didn't. 🤦🏼‍♂️😢💸

How long have you done season tickets? The amount of games just seems like a big commitment.

I split it with a friend/co-worker. We each get 20 regular season games, and we go to playoff games together. We actually first signed up for last season, but obviously that didn't happen, and even this year we only got 4 regular season games as things re-opened.

Going forward, I imagine I'll go to 10-15 games, sell some, and give some to clients. Seems pretty manageable.

According to Second Spectrum, in the 268 matchups in which Holiday is the primary defender on Booker or Paul, they're averaging just 22 points per 100 possessions. Against all other Bucks defenders, the duo is averaging 39.7 points per 100 possessions. Holiday has forced Paul into an uncharacteristic 10 turnovers and Booker into eight.

Jrue really solidifying his defensive rep.

Your friend Pipes would be willing to buy a game or two from ya

Agreed.  His defense has been outstanding all series.  Also the stones it took for him to launch that pass...love that guy.  If it sails on him/hits the rim he could’ve ruined his great game but he went for it and it worked out.  Let’s go Bucks!

This is an interesting stat;

In game 5, 44 of Milwaukee’s 87 shots were tightly contested (50.5% of all shots) and they made 26 of them for a 59% FG percentage.

The Suns played pretty good defense, but the Bucks were making all their turn around fading jump shots.

Suns have to be wondering what it's gonna take to beat these guys.  They shot 68% from three on Saturday, only turned the ball over 8 times (versus 17 in G4), and only got outrebounded by 2 (35/37) against a much bigger team.  And yet they still couldn't win the game...

I just bet a lot of units on game 5 Suns ML.  I really think the Suns win this one comfortably.  Would take an injury or weird foul trouble for the Suns to lose.
Bucks played a near flawless game after the first quarter.

Nothing but respect for their game 5 performance.  Nobody is beating the Bucks when they play like that.

Playoff teams were 35-0 all-time when shooting over 50% from the field and over 60% from 3. Phoenix shot 55% from the field and 68% from 3.

And the Bucks were on the road. Amazing.

I still can’t believe that 3 players from this series are going to finish an exhausting playoff run and then board a plane for Japan to play with a bunch of guys they’re never practiced with. That’s just so crazy to me.

Same.  I'm honesty surprised they haven't changed their minds.

Team USA really needs them though. Adam Silver should do Pop a solid and ensure this thing gets wrapped up tomorrow so the badly needed reinforcements can arrive sooner rather than later. For 'Merica and that.

You go when you have the privilege of playing alongside JaVale McGee and Keldon Johnson.

Is Giannis going to play for Greece?
I don't believe so.  Did Greece even make the field?

Greece did not qualify.  They lost in the finals of their qualifying tournament to the Czech Republic.
I'm glad, too, because knowing Giannis and the kind of guy he is, he'd feel obligated to play for them.  Dude is gonna need to rest.  Training camps for 2021-22 start on September 28!

I shat on it too but Keldon looked like one of the best players on the team against Spain. Maybe he’s exactly what they needed.

Bucks expanding the Deer District to 65,000 for tomorrow night's game. That's 3 times larger than Fiserv Forum and more than the 10th largest city in Wisconsin

Fear the Deer

I want the Bucks to win the title, I also want more games. So instead of the Suns forcing a game 7 can we just get an OT thriller tonight with Middleton or Jrue making a buzzer beater Dame Lillard style to end the series and send us into the off-season on the highest of high points.

Giannis hitting a 3 to win it would be wild.

I rode my bike through the DD on the way to work this morning. It looks quite a bit different than the past few weeks.  The entire downtown area surrounding the Fiserv will be closed off at noon today.  My son (16) is going with some buddies and I'm honestly a little bit concerned - the crowd will be out of control.

I don't think my heart can handle this

I'm sure he'll be fine...but I'd be a little nervous, too.
