BWAHAHAHA. Nice Christian university there

@Brett_McMurphy: If Hugh Freeze leaves Liberty, former Baylor coach Art Briles would be a leading candidate to replace Freeze, sources told @Stadium

So happy that Ian McCaw is not the AD at UMass any more. (Best known for trying to spearhead a campaign to get rid of the “Minutemen” nickname because it was sexist.)

Dan Mullen had some choice words about the rankings today especially Ohio State. Basically inferred the commity was playing favorites with Ohio State with the a comment in the way of "You can't lose any games if you don't play at all. We''ve played all of ours.

That logic will be used to justify sending USC to the Fiesta Bowl if the beat the Huskies in the PAC12CC.

This isn't biased on my part but I felt NCAA could've handled this all better. I felt if a school couldn't dress the required players and had to cancel the game with no reschedule it should be a forfeit. Have a Column for W's, L's, W by forfeit, L by Forfeit and NC for No Contest and not played. Put heavier price on the record of W/L's that were played. Yeah it'll suck for some teams but why should Ohio State make the CFP when they've had 2-3 games canceled this season over other teams who got more games in with 1 or 2 losses? I think it's fair to compensate those who played more games over those who haven't.

He lost to a 3-5 team. Why is he worried about anyone else's record? Florida wasn't getting in even if OSU wasn't.

Since his hiring in December of 2017, Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal has been mentioned as a potential candidate for various other coaching jobs across college football. With Auburn parting way with Gus Malzahn on Sunday, Cristobal's name was immediately put forth as a candidate for the open position in Alabama.

A follow-up report from The Oregonian's John Canzano says that he expects Oregon and Cristobal to come to terms on a long-term contract extension when the season is over.

Wouldn't be mad if the committee just ignored the big ten and pac ten entirely this yr. They shouldn't be rewarded for playing 5 or 6 games while other conferences were grinding

I saw a report that said if either ND or Clemson cannot play the ACCCC, the game will be declared a no contest. Thus, ND would be your ACC champions.

2020, yo.

That would be a fun way to stick it Dabo - knowing they would most likely meet in the first round of the CFP anyway.  But for Dabo to have to hear for two weeks leading to the game that the ACC Champions ND will be facing Clemson would irritate him even more than OSU being the 4th seed in the CFP.  :lmao:

I never thought I’d say it but I’m beginning to wonder if Dabo is more hated than Saban now.  It feels like people have just come to accept Saban’s greatness and he’s going to kick your ###.  Seems like the hatred has moved to Clemson now.

I’d need to go look again but what do we thinking happens if a miracle takes place and Florida beats Bama?  I don’t see any way Bama gets left out so I’m guessinf

UF, OSU, Bama and winner Clem/ND??

I guess they could leave Florida out which would be hysterical to me.  Not because I hate Florida, I don’t, but just watching people’s minds explode.

Florida isn’t getting in over 1-loss TAMU who also beat them.

Dabo was always this much of a clown, but it does seem most people's views have changed over time.

It's the Jesus stuff from Dabo as much as the winning.

And taking shots at other teams. Saban doesn’t do that, he’s about as respectful as it gets. Meanwhile Dabo has something to say another FSU and OSU every other day.
I think this may be more of an age thing.  He is a goober and shares his feelings sometimes but I would expect him to settle it down as he gets older and wiser.

He isn't the only one who shared feelings about FSU or OSU (Mullen threw a few shots at OSU this past weekend).

People hate him because he has faith in God and doesn't mind sharing it?   Seems odd to hate because of something like that.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong just saying people that publicly display their faith always become targets for certain people.  I like the guy and think he's a hell of a coach even when I disagree with him.  I always liked Bobby Bowden too even though I never agreed with his "boys will be boys" stance with discipline but I do agree that he thought he was truly helping those kids so I respect that.

I don't think that going on F Bomb tirades on the sidelines, multiple times, is a sign of a true christian, IMO.

Do you have a link where he did this?  I'd be surprised if true.  Still, everyone is human and humans are capable of worse things than uttering some words in the heat of a moment.  Still, it wouldn't be a good look for him.

Florida losing to a 23+ point underdog makes aTm's win look less impressive.
Yes, and TAMU would be one of the weakest playoff teams yet, but they’ll still get in if one of Clemson/ND do not. Bama will just beat them by 5 touchdowns again. Pointless.

This is not that complicated

ND - Bama

Clemson - OSU

This is year like 8 where there aren't 5 good teams.  Not sure ND is good, but who doesn't like the thought of them getting crushed in a key game?

Clemson is out if they somehow lose Saturday. I guess ND could be if they lose 55-3 or something but that’s not likely.

Despite how weird this season is it’s about the most predictable playoff yet.

Mullen is an extremely weird dude.
He's consistently proves his Cousin Eddie moniker correct. That whole brawl causing incident when Trask basically got pushed to the ground late was the most embarrassing, but he says the dumbest of things at the oddest of times. I figured that quote was a funny joke someone made up when I first saw it.

it's the pac so I'm not sure anyone is paying attention, but the wackamole approach to scheduling its conference championship game is really something. even by pac 12 standards.

We’re newly minted USC fans this season and it’s really sort of been bonkers. Before Colorado lost there was talk of two teams from the PAC-12 South facing off in the championship if Washington couldn’t field a team. Oregon - USC should be a great game though - what everyone expected at the beginning of the season. USC hasn’t dominated by any stretch, but their multiple come back wins (against admittedly weak opponents) have been super fun to watch all season.

What? You’ve spent 2 years talking about how great he is.
Fake news!

Look, I'm glad we have him because he's a hell of a recruiter, but his in game management leaves a lot to be desired.  Have you seen Herbert play this year?  He's pretty great, right?  What nerfed him at Oregon?

I'd like him to stay because again, I think he's amongst the best recruiters in the country, but if he goes away I'm not going to cry over it.  If he goes to Auburn, he'll last 4 years tops.

Oregon's defense is one of the worst I've ever witnessed in my 20 years of Duck fandom.  And that's saying something because Brady Hoke was the DC for one of those years.  USC should have no problems scoring.

@JTalty

From me and @mzenitz, per sources: Kevin Steele has emerged as a serious candidate for the Auburn head coaching job, potentially even the lead candidate now.

Multiple sources have also said they don’t expect Hugh Freeze to get the job.

When you pay a buyout that big you've got to go bargain hunting

#Vanderbilt officially announces #NotreDame defensive coordinator Clark Lea as its next coach.

My links aren't wanted in here but you can find them on YouTube. 2017 @Williams Brice when some fans started throwing water bottles is on of them. It would take some leg work to find them all but we've all seen it.

Apparently we all haven't seen it or else I wouldn't be asking for a link.  I remember the water bottles and batteries being thrown at Williams Brice.  Lots of frustrated fans in Columbia... for good reason.  My son in law is a huge gamecock fan and my daughter is a huge tiger fan.  Their household used to get crazy during football season.  They've gotten better the last couple of years.  He has season tickets and she will go to a game or two with him each year (even this year), and when she does she wears, begrudgingly, garnet and black.  His tailgate friends know she's a Clemson fan but she's a trooper and they don't give her a lot of flack for it.  He hates Clemson but respects their success the last several years.  He understands how recruiting affects success and wishes Carolina could win some of those battles with in-state/regional recruiting.

It's hard for Carolina to compete in the east, let alone the conference.  Hopefully Beamer can build something there.
