You also said they would be lucky to go 5 with the Suns.
I did. I did not think the Suns would fold like this until Game 4. Then I started to feel great about their chances. Something happened to Chris Paul. He's gotta be hurt or I guess just old.

On paper...Paul/Ayton pick and roll and Booker-Ayton pick and roll should happen at least once a possession and Dallas should get annihilated. But have they even run one of those yet tonight?

Dallas deserves a lot of credit for not folding after the first 2 games, but something is just wrong with the Suns. Not sure what it is.

30+ has only happened a handful of times. Regular season mostly.

It's over.

I don't care who wins. Just make it interesting one way or the other. I remember the Clippers beating the Warriors like 3 or 4 years ago in the playoffs down 34 in the 3rd. This was before Kawhi and George.

Dallas has Luka, who is awesome.

Phoenix has CP3, a perennial choker.

Seems simple to me.

I am usually not one to root against players, but I really dislike Paul and the many things he has done over his career. I kind of hope he never wins a ring.

Too be fair though he seems to have toned it down this year and what he said at the end of the New Orleans series was very nice.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure it out as well.  Did Dallas make some adjustments later in the series or is PHX just choking?  They look so pedestrian out there.

If PHX comes back this willl be on some Frank Reich Buffalo v. Houston Oilers proportions.

NBA playoffs just a different animal that the regular season.

The thing is it usually isn't. The best teams in the regular season usually win. If you go back through history and look a vast majority of NBA teams that win titles are 3 seeds and above or have a top 5 record if one conference is stacked.

It has to be a combo of both, but does Dallas get 60 percent credit for adjustments or Phoenix get 60 percent blame for choking?

My guess is Phoenix, but I am not confident.

Like all things, it's a mix.

Added in Ntilikina to the guarding Paul mix, and stuck one of Dorian, Bullock, or Ntilikina on Paul 94 feet, every possession.

Played Powell less, although he had a great game 6.

Luka has dug in really well on D and Dallas is crashing the boards with 5 every possession.

(D)Winwiddie and Brunson started taking more possessions as the ball handler, leaving Luka fresher for both ends.

Suns stopped giving Ayton the ball ever in the post too.

The intensity isn't close to the same though. Phoenix plays harder and with more focus than any other regular season team. Monty doesn't take days off.

Also, perhaps critically, Dallas started saying "Fine, we won't get calls? We won't fall down much then and we'll beat your ###." Whereas Phoenix doubled down on falling down constantly for calls and now they aren't getting them.

How does Booker flop on an intentional take foul? Is it just instinct? Bullock just does the quick waist grab and Booker throws his arms up and head back :lmao:

Booker is doing a great Harden impression.  For all the smack he talks, he should be better in these big games.

Doncic's ##### eating grin out there is hilarious.

The Suns remind me of the 06 Pistons. In 05 the Pistons lost in game 7 of the finals against the Spurs and really thought home court cost them. So they went all out in 06 trying to get the best record and were dead by the conference finals.

Chris Paul teams have a history of choking though

They call this one "The Luka Special."

It's when you flop all the time, then make fun of a guy for flopping, then he puts it on you for the next 96 minutes of basketball and destroys your soul.

Since the Luka Special video:

Booker: 30 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, -60 net rating

Luka: 68 points, 21 rebounds, 12 assists, +52 net rating
