2021-22 NBA Thread: Bill Simmons furiously recording 2.5 hour long pod about how Boston is still better than Golden State (2 Viewers)

Looks like Suns Mavs game 4. Every single three feels like money for Boston.

I think I said it earlier in the 2nd round: sometimes one team has a hot shooting night and the other is cold. That's the NBA. Sucks that it happens during a game 7 and we don't get an exciting one.

many years ago, in the dfs forum nba thread, i wrote a lot about my most successful strategy. and buhleeee me it was successful back then. pick low cost three point shooters at home. channing frye made me a bunch of hay back in the day. dallas phoenix has followed this. we sure just witnessed it in boston. feeling bad about my dallas bet atm, but who knows?

Welp, about a month ago, I was advocating for Boston to toss the last few games of the regular season to avoid Brooklyn (also giving up this home court). I was very very wrong. The home court probably saved us today.

Bucks missed the D and shot making ability of Middleton.   That and a D based around giving up 3s is fine until a team hits them like Boston did.

gotta say, i love it. best thing i can say about the defending champs - other than announcing a coupla games ago that the 2nd best team in the NBA would lose this series - is that i was sweatin' every play up 17 late. love the way both teams make things happen, hope they left us enough gas for the rest of the trip.

Celtics are daywalkers now

I'd like to thank my friends and family for their support during this series.

We never stopped believing and left it all on the floor.  Just took it one game at a time, one play at a time. And 110%... we definitely gave 110%.

??? they come out flatter'n campfire biscuits and i was mad at new coach for not workin some ez1s before tryin treys, but they stayed on tippytoe for 48 and it wore the champs down.

They won it in the daylight!

Like those ultra-vampire types

Congrats Celtics fans.  It’s a tough pill to swallow but the Celtics were the better team this series.

Luka gets picked on in game two and has played increasingly better defense by game. Steals, blocks, box outs, staying in front of guys. Complete games.

Phoenix just didn't show up tonight. They gotta have a serious talk at the half. Booker is garbo, team is low energy, and Dallas has completely silenced the crowd.

Jae Crowder is the only Sun who came to play.

Hot take...maybe? Phoenix is the most mentally weak team in the league. I say again, as I said a while ago, that Booker is the whiniest frontrunner in the league. Maybe he proves me wrong in the final 27 minutes. Doubt it.

Anyone else still wanna take any Mavs title bets? I've been saying for months that this team is criminally underrated after an injury-riddled first half of the season and the Winwiddie trade.

For anyone just following at home, it is 57-27 at the half.

The Mavs are winning by more points than the Suns have scored.

And that's 27 at the half. Not the first quarter.

Weirdly, Reggie Miller forgot to mention that Devin Booker leads the NBA in first quarter scoring.

Oh, wait, that's because after the last two games Luka leads the NBA in first quarter scoring. And today, Booker took his 4th quarter disappearing act and got started early.

I got them at +4000 and encouraged y'all to follow me. But not confident they can take Boston. Dubs goin' down fer sher.

Being real...I'm a little worried. Dallas's biggest weakness is a tendency to just start running the clock down 18 seconds and then an Iso horrible play for the entire time until they let the other team in and lose. Let's see if they stay focused.
