This one falls on Udoka. They fell back on their old iso ways, almost pouting that Curry could be more bangin' than them. i had noticed that Tatum had lengthened his drive path - an old bad habit - in Gm 3 and worried that the Dubs could turn that into TOs in Gm 4. that didnt happen, but he played as badly as ive seen him in '22. not making excuses, but he aint right. was surprised coach couldnt get them off their childish tip. i'll go back to worrying against this whole every-other thing, i guess...
hmm maybe, you would know better than quite a few of us. i don't think this team makes it out of the 2nd round if Ime isn't coaching them, and i think the Celtics would have been the same song and dance they were the last 3 years. Ime seems to be doing all he can, but really what else can he do. I think his approach with the team is about as good as it could be, i don't think yelling at Tatum or going at him like Jimmy Butler would help. i think the reality is some of these guys are simply just who they are.

thing with Tatum is when he is good you can see the potential, but his "bad" is so much worse than just an average player on the court.

You do realize the bolded totally contradicts itself since the Celtics have been to the conference finals in that time span and have been to the conference finals 4 times now in like 6 or 7 years.

The underlined is just wrong his bad games are still light years better than an average player. That is your hate of the player talking.

yeah, it feels like one of those things that gets early hype and people want to tag along for the ride. the more i hear people talking about it the better the movie gets.

the acting is incredible!

what a heartwarming story!

Hernangomez is a born star!

this is Sandler's best movie ever!

meh
I haven't seen it yet but since Ant is in it I guarantee it's at least a 9/10.

I wonder if he's going to blame it on his back after all this. That's the one out Draymond has.

Which is dumb, because Draymond just needs to shoot 3 pointers all summer and become even a 30% 3 point shooter to become effective again.

He is a zero threat to score despite his position with the ball.

Dray catches the ball, back to basket, someone runs near him along the three-point line, he remains a stationary pick, underhanded shovel pass, 3-point launch around the set screen...

Terrible.

His over/under points are less than a bucket per quarter.

Pure garbage.

If I remember correctly he was also near the Celtics basket with the ball doing his best Ben Simmons impersonation and not looking to shoot and passed the ball off.

Well it's getting rave reviews everywhere, so you're in the minority but you're entitled to your opinion.
You made me agree with furley. I hate agreeing with furley. I watched an hour of it. Perhaps it gets heartwarming and tugs at the ole strings, but it's really not very good so far.

Yep, this stood out a few times last game.  He's about 5 feet from the rim and immediately looking to dish it off.  Confidence in his offensive game is gone.

Or lately, he's doing all this (exactly as you explain) but now getting his weak passes knocked away or stolen.  Defenders know exactly what's happening at this point.

At this level, the ability to accelerate, jump and extend your body are the difference between scoring and getting blocked in the paint.  Green has lost his physical abilities and with the Boston defense that means he can't score because he can't shoot.  Thompson's shooting ability is the only thing he really has left and has also lost his physical advantages with his injury.  He may be able to get it back, but I think Green is done physically.  He can still be slightly effective if he learns his limitations, but his body is not letting him be the player he once was.

Curry on the other hand (being the greatest shooter of all time) is still able to be highly effective.  I'm sure he is slightly slower than 2-3 years ago, but his skill level and basketball IQ are so high he can offset a lot of physical limitations.  Also Wiggins is a great athlete still so he is playing well.

Boston has the physical advantage across the board, but the between the ears stuff is killing them.  Udoka has worked magic to this point with a group of former knuckleheads.  Every now and then they revert back to bad habits (like that last 4th qtr).  He has his work cut out, but Boston has the physical advantage out there and it isn't even close.

not to derail but i thought this was funny anyways.

one of the guys on Dan Patrick this morning mentioned that the Rotten Tomatoes score was through the roof (90+ from critics and fans alike).

There aren’t really any characters, it’s kind of remarkable. It’s a film that doesn’t even rely on archetypes, it simply populates the screen with people, some of whom occasionally say things.

If anybody here plays 2k, some people have said the movie is like the storyline in the game where you try to get a player into the pros, but actually done well.

It wasn't great - very predictable of course and a bit hokey, but was done well (with some good performances) and was entertaining. I liked but wouldn't call it "great" and if you're not a basketball fan, I wouldn't recommend really.

that is a fantastic analogy

they even have the 1 v 1 at grimy park scene with NPC'c cheering and reacting in the background.

Anyone can cherry pick quotes. There's way more good than bad.  Movies are clearly personal taste but I and the vast majority of people who watched it were very impressed.  And no I won't get off your lawn 😛

I mean I don't even agree with her that the movie "didn't rely on archtypes", as it absolutely did:

The son who took over ownership of the Sixers and Anthony Edwards character were typical "villains" in a sports movie (they were basically a combo of Shooter McGavin) and Queen Latifah was the typical movie supportive wife (of a character who is taking a huge financial risk).

yeah, it seems to be universally loved. 90+ on Rotten Tomatoes is impressive.

just throwing out my opinion for people who are trying to decide if they want to watch.  i went in with fairly high expectations based on the hype it was getting and left feeling glad it was free.

dunno what all the fuss is about Draymond. he's been this bad all year, Celts just ignoring his shots, eyeing his cutting/passing lanes only, and it's working. regular folk dont zone him cuz they wanna make their bones being on him cuz he gets em worked up, but that's really kinda stoopit

we'll know tonite if JayTay is actually hurt. watching these guys all year, this profiles as a monster Tatum game. Dubs are incapable of doing any more than keeping him a little off-balance, so we'll know the shoulder is baaaad if he dont 40range G5

I'd also stress that Curry's off the ball movement/effort is still unparalleled and also significantly contributes to his ability to still get quality open looks at the basket goal.

I thought it was good, not great. Worth the watch for sure on Netflix.

Uncut Gems was significantly better (though, obviously, a significantly different kind of movie).

Will be interesting to see if the Celtics have their usual bounce back game. The last time the Tatum-Brown-Smart-Horford-RWilliams starting lineup lost back-to-back games was 5 months ago. They have gone 14-0 after a loss in that time (including 7-0 in the playoffs) with a +17 point scoring margin in those games (+16 in the playoffs). If the Warriors don't put an end to that streak in this series at some point, GS won't win the title.

Impossible. I heard that most people hate it because it involves the 76ers and no one likes them!

So any predictions for tonight's game?

My brain says the Celtics figure it out like they always do after a loss, but my heart says Curry drops another 40 + and Klay and Poole show up at home.

Glad I could help.  :hifive:   :lmao:

Which plot hole? That the combine is in Chicago, not NYC?

That Bo would suddenly become undraftable because he lost his temper in a game after lighting up both the measurables and the scrimmage part of the combine.

Not a good start at all for Boston. Idk, coming back to the bay tonight, crazy how a couple nights make a difference. Feels like last game broke the camel's back for Boston when they just went dead cold those last few minutes.

Lot of game to go though, but feel like they're really slogging along now.

It was more the other thing from his past and then this just added to it. But ya it was exaggerated a bit.

Dead cold the first few minutes of this game, too.  They can’t stay in this one long shooting 4-15 from the field.  Defense not playing well either.  Hope Udoka makes some good adjustments.

It might just be a bad quarter, but something does look/feel off with the Celtics like jet lag or last game broke them.

The last time the Warrors starters last back to back was over two years ago

Celts knocked to the mat early. But they got up. Just keep playing their game and they’ll be ok. Keep it within 10, get to the half
