2021 College football thread - Auburn’s gotta Auburn. (3 Viewers)

So the #3 team in the nation travels to #23 and is an underdog by 3?  Feels like Vegas is BEGGING you to take Oregon.  This one worries me a lot as a Ducks fan, but if Oregon plays their game (runs the ball effectively, something Utah has trouble stopping and plays great defense) I think they'll prevail in an ugly one.  However, if they get down in a hole early, this one will be over real fast as the QB lacks the ability to bring them back against Utah.
I'm not a betting man, but isn't three points the baseline for a home team?  Wouldn't this essentially be Vegas calling it a tossup?

Yes.  But that means they are saying #23 and #3 are equal on a neutral field.  You'd think at #3 Ducks should be at least a couple points fave on neutral, so maybe +1 at Utah.  But "Vegas Knows" how good the teams really are, which is why GM is nervous.  As am I.

Texas with 11 yards of offense in the first quarter, down 7-0 already with WV driving again. Wonder how much leash Sark gets.

Some game of the week. Southeast Military College Sisters of the Poor is probably doing better against Georgia today.

Ok, well I’m gonna be right. Start coping now.
lol you think a win against a horribly over rated MSU team at home is better than a win at Utah?  Only way OSU is ahead of Oregon on Tuesday is if Oregon loses at Utah.  It doesn't really matter though since if both win out they are both in.

Ohio State playing like they want no part of that #4 ranking and a first round date with UGA.
I don't think style points mattered. This team was a near lock to be in the 2-3 game so long as they take care of their own business. And if that happens they may still play UGA. A lot riding on the SEC championship game because the 4 seed will be a less challenging task, whoever ends up in that spot.

Yes, a team being up 49-0 at the half against a team the committee had ranked #7 will significantly trump Oregon’s 3 to 7 point win against #23. It probably won’t even be much of a discussion.

It's a human committee.  Style points almost have to matter even if they try to say they don't.
If they win 3 in a row in relatively ugly manner then they will be in the 2-3 game. If they win 3 in a row in this manner then they will be in the 2-3 game.

Don't think so but like I said it doesn't matter really if they both win out.

Clemson having struggled with Georgia Tech and UNC somehow losing to them speaks volumes. They are really reaaaally not good.

What if Michigan beats Ohio State...not saying they will but for the sake of argument. Say Oregon wins out so they are in along with Michigan and Georgia. Say Cincinnati loses. Would a 2 loss Ohio State team that in this example lost to 2 top 4 teams get in over a 2 loss Alabama team?

Cheer, cheer. ND will be a one loss team for sure. They need the chaos you suggest to make it.

Nebraska had a chance to tie the game against Wisky, but they derped the play calling. Martinez threw 5 straight passes off his back foot.
At least basketball season is here, Husker fans. Oh, wait…

I, for one, am shocked they couldn't finish off a close game.  Shocked I tell you! Also shocked a Wisconsin RB ran all over us.  That's never happened.

If it was based on "most deserving" Oregon would stay ahead of Ohio St as long as they both kept winning.  The committee has already demonstrated they are not measuring most deserving - by placing UM ahead of MSU.  Which means a 2 loss Bama team is NOT out of the playoff.

I really meant to say Capella is right.  But also I hate Bama, so that got in the way.
