2021 Philadelphia Eagles - Queued up a playlist of our greatest zits throughout the season for final game (5 Viewers)

Hey lookie here, an Eagles thread. Apparently they're playing the Jets tonight. Who would have known?

I hear you guys are going to start as many guys as you did that last game you threw.

:lmao:

No one even cares about your team. The last time they were relevant you had a coach with a food fetish and a QB known for a Butt Fumble. Must suck being the ugly redhead stepchild of NY Football every year.

Must be nice being the only pro football team ever to throw a game.

Must be nice just sucking though and being a laughing stock of the NFL. Everyone wants to leave there. Can't wait till Wilson is asking out. Absolute mess of an org these days.

I'm really loving Ross Tucker on these games. I thought it was gonna be bad replacing mike Mayock but Tucker is just as enjoyable and I love how excited he gets for the Local guys on other teams and young players in general.

A laughingstock with a franchise QB vs. a guy who runs a lot. Come back to me at the end of the year. You guys are putrid.

Please, say it ain't so
That cluster at the bottom is pretty bad.  Fulgham, JJ, Hightower... Look tho, we're in a rebuild, the young guys look like they have potential. We all know this isnt a playoff season.  We're trying to identify a good young core, and see if Hurts can be the QB. Thats the point this season.  A few snaps in preseason isnt gonna change that.

I like it.  Hes better than Flacco and Mullens.  Instant number 2 qb
Honestly, Flacco is better. Anybody who watched Minshew last year has serious doubts about his efficacy as a starter. Worth a 6th rounder though? Abso-lutely. It's a win of a trade for the Eagles.

And it reinforces that we value QB2 and QB3 way more than anyone else in the league. The Qb room reads like the beginning of a bad joke too lol

agree with this. maybe minshew still has room to grow? but what i saw was not a NFL starter material last two seasons. and on paper he had better receivers than what we had over those seasons. just don't see the arm for it. as a backup good trade and after this year not at all sad about him being our 2. just gotta find our 1!

Minshew>2021 Flacco, not saying he's anything more than a solid backup, but he made arguably the NFL's worst team pretty frisky at times.

I'll be curious if Minshew gets on the field, as he had a bad OL in Jacksonville, but Philly has a great one. Could see that solving many of his issues.

If nothing else, it makes Hurts' leash even shorter.

Wouldn't have beef with this at all if it weren't for the Foles/Wentz drama of the past 4 years.

With 17 games, COVID and an inexperienced Hurts there's nothing wrong with backups.

Maybe they're going to move Flacco?

Didn’t he have a bad thumb last year? I think he’s a seriously limited QB, but he’s capable of moving an offense when called up - one of the better backup QBs in the league.

He did. But before it was bad, he was still having trouble. Yes, he is one of the better backup QBs in the league if he's healthy. That's an if, but if he is, then yes.

That said, this was the guy that got benched for Jake Luton and Mike Glennon last year. Yes, they were in Tank for Trevor mode, but he really wasn't as good as those two while injured. I still remember DJ Chark batting down a hospital ball like "are you kidding me with that?"

Which doesn't speak well to Chark, but Minshew was so bad last year that it raised doubts. Playing through injury may have cost him some money and stature.

If JJAW can continue to build on this preseason I have no problem keeping him around. He's a bust as a high pick but still young, there's still reasonable hope for production.

Re Minshew.....guy is a gamer. No long term answer anywhere but an absolute scrapper. I can easily envision a scenario where he's breathing down Hurts' neck all year and starts a few games. Some guys respond to fierce competition breathing down their neck, but is there ANYTHING in Hurts history that suggests he would be one of those guys? He RAN from competition in college.

I think this is gonna be a mess.

We know that this type of competition bothered Wentz somewhat last year, but Sirianni and staff inherited Hurts, so I can understand their move.  We'll see if Hurts can handle some true competition(it definitely ain't Flacco) in the end. Either way, I don't think it comes into play until the guy learns the system.  Until then Jalen has plenty of time to distance himself and make it a non issue. It's totally on him right now.  I'm just dreading the potential doom & gloom in this thread if things go south and we have QB drama even remotely similar to last year's stink.

Minshew to the Eagles for a 6th.

It's a solid trade for us. Menshaw will be the #2 by next year or he's starter bringing the cap for the rookie if he can't play right away. I know the Foles fanboys will be upset with this, but if you lose your job in Jax and then can't beat out Trubisky in CHI nor Andy Dalton and a rookie you probably need to call it a career.

Especially a popular name like Minshew.  Hurts has gotta be thinking "cmon guys, again?"

I don't think if the Eagles were sold on hurts as their future guy they bring in Both Minshew and Flacco 2 guys with starter experience and Minshew if needed could be a decent bridge gap from Hurts and whoever eventually replaces him for good if that were to happen.
