2022-2023 NBA Salary Cap Draft - First Annual Battle for the Wikkid Cup (4 Viewers)

Passing on two guys I think are amazing value to get another who is also an amazing value and is a perfect fit with Murray.

2.3 PF/C Domantas Sabonis, SAC - $18,500,000

@Chemical X
This is who I had pegged when I thought it was more of a fantasy-based draft. Just couldn't justify pairing him with Harden defensively in real-world basketball.

Tyler Herro and Dejuante Murray!!! Jesus you people are bad at this
I'm assuming your Murray problem is shtick, because 20/7/8 on 46/36/80 and a plus defender at $16m is a steal.
why i went herro here…..21/5/4 on 48/40/85. probably my best bang for buck. it will be easier IMO to find expensive bench contributors than guys under 10mm that actually play. just a quick glance at the list.

I like the shtick of either looking at a 3 or 4 game sample or a combination of a 3 or 4 game sample and career numbers in order to cast them in the best possible light!

2.5 Kawhi Leonard $42,492,492

We’ll have to rest him some during the regular season but the hope is the Durant-Leonard combo is healthy and ready for playoff time.
This was who I was debating before I took Adebayo. If he was either cheaper or healthier I would have pulled the trigger. Was scared by injuries and cost.

I was hoping he’d be one of the high $ guys that would slip through the cracks. Kawhi and Durant a pretty crazy start.

Man, tough call here. Three players I want with totally different salary levels and I doubt none come back to me. Going with best overall player of the group, plus I always have a hard time getting good two-way wings in these drafts.

Yo Mama selects:

2.08 - Jaylen Brown - SF BOS - $28,741,071

Not too bad a price for him either.

Was my next pick if he made it to me

The hardest part is trying to figure out WTF is going on here. So I'm gonna play the "value will definitely slip" game on the handful of guys I like here and take one that was incredible end of last year and is off to an awesome start this year too.

2.10 Tyrese Haliburton

That pick and roll is going to be so nasty.

This was one of the other guys I was debating taking over Brown. Tremendous value contract.

He wouldn't have.

To me, at least, there are some guys on such a value contract that we should jump for them. Ja, Haliburton fell into that for me. Then there are some guys who went WAY too low, like Steph and LeBron i mean holy ****.

Sorry for the delay guys, had trunk or treat with the kiddos tonight.

I had two main targets on my short list for round 2. Haliburton was number two on that list and I'm honestly surprised my first choice made it to me.

2.11 - Darius Garland, PG, CLE

A 23 year old lead guard coming off an All-Star season and making less than $9 million is a great value to pair with Tatum.

Was curious where Haliburton would go. I had him as immediate target (behind Ja and Lamelo), but was surprised how highly rated he looks on fantasy sites. Always liked the player.

ONE HOUR CLOCK STARTS TOMORROW

Clock will be active from 8am Pacific / 11am Eastern (I’ve been bullied) until 5pm Pacific / 8pm Eastern.

West coasters - if you are close to being up to draft in the morning, try to give someone a short list.

East coasters - same if you only draft from work and are leaving for the night.

Clock will be off for the weekend, but if you’re going to be away all weekend and are coming up soon, drop a list.

We’re not in a huge rush, but I’d rather not have this draft go too far into the season.

Thought about him, and legit backed off because he got hurt in the opener. Face/eye injury.
