8.15 Gabe Vincent $1,815,677: Should have a bigger role this year with the Heat and adds backcourt depth.
9.1 Nick Richards $1,782,621: Really good start to this season getting over 20mpg. I think he will likely overtake Plumlee for the starting role at C for the Hornets. He is clearly outplaying him.

2 good picks, but my guy made it this time.

9.2 - Deni Avdija, SF, WAS

He's had his minutes limited due to a couple of injuries to start the season, but he has started every game. Unseld indicated that he wants him to be their "glue guy" and is a wing with size who is efficient on offense...a Euro/poor man's version of Mikal Bridges.

There are two things that have been kind of bugging me about my team. I like Vanderbilt coming off the bench more than I liike him starting, and I like Sabonis better as a PF than a C. So let's fix both:

9.3 C Jonas Valanciunas, NO - $14.7M

I make this pick without a lot of confidence and he can be ride the pine if need be. However, I haven’t given up on him..

Man, this guy was not on my radar because my spreadsheet V-lookup failed to capture his numbers. My main spreadsheet has him as "Santiago", but the stats pages has just "Santi". I even knew he was a starter, but with so many names, he had ended up at the bottom of the page with all of the guys who had done nothing so far this season and had zero projected stats.

Don't know that I would have definitely taken him at any point, but would have been nice if I was at least looking at the correct information.
 
Going the cheap route to get a bench big for some rebounds and blocks.

9.08 - Isaiah Jackson, C/PF Pacers - $2,573,760

He’s been great while Turner’s been out, and will be poised to be huge down the stretch if/when Turner eventually gets traded.
 
Instinctive selects with 9.10 - Maxi Kleber, PF, DAL

For my pick at 9.11 - Monte Morris, PG, WAS

Getting Morris back into his ideal role as the best backup PG in the league. Can provide 20+ minutes a night of great shooting, good playmaking, and solid defense. Also has shown the ability to step into a bigger role when needed.

Both of these guys have been undervalued. Very good players on good contracts. Morris doesn't fit my team's philosophy, but he is a good fit for just about any other team in the league. Kleber may have been one of my two picks at the turn here as he is a center that can hit jumpers and succeed in a switchy system and also defend the rim a bit.

So hyped to get Maxi here. Switchy guy who is best defending 3s and 4s, can be passable against the guards and holds up well against all but the biggest centers. Big time floor stretcher, and HUGE in the big moments (see, e.g., Phoenix WCSF 2022). PLUS he's the 2nd best player ever from Wurzburg, Germany.

He fits in perfect here, can play with all of our big rotation, and give us his absolutely best in a like 15-20 minute a night role.

****. That was DEFINITELY going to be one of my two picks. I don't expect his shooting numbers to stay where they are at, but otherwise, I think it might be sustainable.
 
9.15 George Hill - G - $4,000,000
10.01 Buddy Hield - G - $21,177,750

Buddy Hield has made 100 more threes than anybody in the NBA over the last 5 seasons combined (1122 total made), while hitting 40% of them and he can shoot it from DEEEP. Over that span, he has taken well over 10 threes per 36 minutes. He will provide some much needed shooting for the starting lineup. Defensively, he is no stalwart, but acceptable as the worst defender in the rotation and is used to covering a variety of different positions as he is very stout and fairly long - in fact, he has played more SF than SG over the last 3 years. All the sudden, but starting lineup is actually an acceptable shooting group on the whole.

George Hill is a reliable hand that is still an acceptable defender that can work in a switchy system and can hit some threes. He's the only bench player than I have that is really a PG, but I expect most ball handling responsibilities to be handled by staggering the starting lineup and having Siakam and Giannis handle some of those duties.

I'm on a strict budget moving forward (~$2M/player), but I have my 10 man rotation settled, so I'll be fine.

10.02 Brandon Ingram- $31,650,600

With some of y'all saving your money for next year, I'll take one of the elite studs left and figure out the exact fit later. Opened a lot of eyes in last year's playoffs, where he averaged 27/6/6 on 47.5/40.7/83 shooting, but he's been great for a while. Bit of a down year from deep last year, but the 2 years prior was at 38% and 39% respectively, and with Luka setting him up he should see some wide open looks. An underrated distributor and playmaker, we can have him lead the 2nd unit at times, or put him at the 2 and just go crazy long/switchy across the board. Bit of a risk with my remaining salary, but we're playing for championships here, and I'd rather shoot for a stud top 8 or 9 than a deep 15.

I was wondering if he was actually going to get drafted. He's a nice player for the 10th round. He was one of the handful of players I was looking at when I took Siakam like 6 rounds ago or whatever.
 
10.03 Jalen Williams OKC $4,341,480

High upside lottery pick from Santa Clara. He had his orbital bone busted in his very first game, but he's already back and I loved what I saw from him in Summer League. I'm guessing he'll see plenty of minutes for the perennially rebuilding Thunder soon enough.
 
10.5 - Jabari Smith Jr., PF/C, HOU

Very high upside talent who will get a lot of minutes for a bad Rockets team this year. One of the better shooting big-man prospects to come out in a long time and a pretty good rim protector. He has a lot of room to grow as a team defender, ball handler, and passer, but he'll be great as a spot-up shooter who can block some shots for this team.
