The real question I have is what everyone is drinking tonight?
I have an assortment of Hazy style IPAs and also a Drouble Dry Hop Pseudo Sue from Goliath, really like this beer.
Stone 7.4.23, Woven Water had 2 new IPAs, one was a West Coast so I grabbed a single of that to try.
Oh yeah, and Ever Haze for the Heat tonight, that's been a pretty lucky go to thru the Playoffs, see if the trend can continue tonight

Go Heat!
Coors Light--lots of Coors Light. I just have always liked beer flavored water.

This series just means a lot to me. I am 53 and a Colorado native. The Nuggets have always been my go-to team even over the Broncos. I remember watching all the Dan Issel, Alex English, Bill Hanzlik type years where they were fairly competitive, but no one was beating the Lakers or Celtics back then, Just year after year of disappointment and then a bright spot comes into town and you think, "Hey, maybe this will be the player." The Laphonso Ellis/Bryant Stith draft year. The selection of Mutombo. Rodney Rogers and his monster dunks, but still not sniffing a title. Even getting to see Iverson in a Nugs uni was so awesome. Then Melo gets drafted and things got interesting, but he leaves like most players leave the small market teams. This team Denver has now is special and will be together for a bit. I like Jimmy Butler, but Miami has had their moment before--it is Nuggets time.

Nugs in Six (but I bet them in five)

Maybe you just missed him but David Thompson was that player...had a chance to be Jordan before Jordan...I'm sure you know the story but before his career got derailed, he was on the path to be an all-time great.
Thompson was an unofficial spokesman for Coke

Denver by 17 at the half. Whatever advantages Miami came in with recency effort are gone. Denver only has to stick to "cool, calm, and collected," and they're golden.

Bam is abusing Jokic on D and they are down 17.
It's their defensive game plan. He's hitting mid range jumpers.

Over a 7 game series, you can't win on Adebayo mid-range. They start hitting 3's to complement, and that changes things.

Wish the Struss/Martin/Vincent were this non-existent vs the Celtics.

Denver looks very big AND fast, though.

He told them no once and they are trying again. It may not work, but I am very happy that they are trying.
it .... worked?

Amazing. If you make the a guy the highest paid coach in NBA history it tends to work. Lol
🤣They absolutely had to. Suns owed him $21 over the next 3 years to not coach. Why all the rumors were that he'd take a year off.

I have a a couple of Pseudo Sues in the fridge right now.

The Heat simply have no chance at all. Total mismatch.
Scoreboard says that…..however we are shooting the ball like the Celtics in game 7.

We have gotten so many clean looks…..not our night tonight.

We win game 2…..it becomes a series.

I love our chances in game 2

Only 2 FT’s for The Heat…….wow.

We shoot better in game 2 we will get this back to 1-1.

Spo figured some things out in quarter 4

Not feeling helpless at all as a Heat fan…we can easily turn it around in game 2.

A new Finals record of only 2 FTA for a team. Mindblowing.

One interesting bet that I saw is if Jokic can record 50+ (combined points, rebounds, and assists) for every game in the finals at 11-1

I don't gamble but seems like a sucker bet. 29/10/10 and you lose. They blow the Heat out in game 1 and he sits the 4th and you are done.
I hardly participate in sports gambling. I might throw $50 on a longshot to win a title when the season starts—but that’s about it (outside of my fantasy leagues). The bet certainly indicates that it’s not supposed to happen (basically an 8-9% shot based on the odds). With that said—for the regular season, Jokic averaged 24.5-11.8-9.8 which comes out to a combined 46.1 per game. He averaged just under 34 minutes per game during the regular season. If one feels like he can feast on the Heat, and will average nearly 39 minutes per game (which is what he’s been averaging thus far into the playoffs)—it wouldn’t be shocking to see him do it. I’m with you though—it’s certainly far more unlikely than it is likely. He’ll have games where he exceeds it—but it only takes one game where he doesn’t reach it for the bet to be a loser.
51 tonight

Furious rallies don't work when you can calmly get good shots in the half court.

The Celtics inability to hold leads in games 1 & 2 cost them their series.

Malone and Jokic won't let it happen.

As a heat fan, I’ll take that game 1. A lot of missed shots by Miami that were open looks. Denver is a good offensive team for sure but we had our moments. I wonder how many assists butler would have had tonight if struss and Martin hit their shots.
well played Denver. See you Sunday.

I am happy with the results, but I agree with you. Why isn’t Butler aggressively driving? He disappeared this game

Jokic just concedes if he's beat. No reason to pick up fouls and and ones. You would think it would be tough to be that disciplined, but he is.

Usually I agree and maybe their strategy was to layoff Bam but sometimes it was a tad lazy - but who cares, they dominated the game and Jokic was incredible. Miami’s only chance is to shoot like 50-60% from 3.

You act like if Miami shot better and kept it closer until the end that Denver doesn't adjust and they l just keep letting them shoot open shots. Just because your team adjusts for game 2 doesn't mean the other team won't.

Denver played their B minus game and this game was never in doubt.

Jimmy has been doing less and less of that for quite a few games now

He got a lot blocked and has seemed hesitant (to me) ever since

I‘d be worried that Denver got 26 points on layups and dunks. Miami shot better from 3 tonight than Denver and were never in the game.

Biggest adjustment Spo needs to make is on offense. Way too many midrange shots from Bam. That's just playing into Denver's defensive game plan.

Maybe the Heat were just gassed after the 7 game series, but they just didn't attack the hoop enough for interior looks and to kick out for 3's. They need to muddy this series up a bit to win.

Also Christian Braun plays like a college freshman who has waaaaaaaay too much nervous energy.

Either calm down or gtfo.

I agree but Denver is so much bigger I’m not sure they can - Boston didn’t have the size to bother MiamI.

If Miami shot better then this is a game. It almost was in the fourth. No one is disrespecting Denver by saying this. If Denver played their b game then Miami played their d game. As a heat fan this is the best offense we’ve seen in the playoffs and I am glad I’m not coach spo in trying to figure out how to stop them. That being said we held them to 104. I’m sure Denver is going to tighten up their defensive rotations as well. The goal for Miami is steal home court. In prev series they did that game one, so we could be greedy. We just need one in Denver. then it’s A series.
