Thank you Jaelen Hurts. Your 40 points came in handy with continued zeros from Kittle and Dobbins....and paltry contributions from L Fournette and Dalvin Cook.

Maybe the Eagles game will convince the new Vikings coach that running the ball is part of football.

Got 120 points out of 4 players. That ain't going to happen every week.

CUT LINE119.10

With 4 games left, hard to say where that cut will end up. I am only 20 points above the current value. AJ Brown, Cousins, and a couple defenses to go. Fingers crossed...could be tight.
...and it was indeed tight. Fortunate to have survived another week.
7 or 70 over is exactly the same, as long as your team is healthy. Good luck in week 3!
Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I'd rather be 7 over. Guys are going to score a particular number of points in a season (i.e. Diggs is on pace for, but won't get, 34 TDs). So I'd rather not leave 70 points sitting on the board. Just give me 10-15 so I'm not sweating the Turk each week :)

Typically, the lowest score for the first few weeks is someone who chooses a team like 15 kickers or something. Week 2 was no such week. The lowest score was a normal 20-person roster with 3 QB's, 5 each at RB's and WR, 3 TE's, and 2 each at K & D. The team was as normal as they come, yet scored only 66 points. This could be any of us...
Yeah, it doesn't matter how well you construct your roster, if 3 or 4 of your studs pick the same week to have bad weeks and/or get injured it's tough to survive.

  • QB - Jackson (1462 – 2X, 91.27% survival), Goff (703, 87.07% survival). Pickett (1082, 80.20% survival). Basically Jackson and Goff overperformed this week as the survival rates hardly dropped. Pickett survival dropped by 10%, but that should be expected based on the cut lines. Not sure how many games we’ll see from Jackson like that, but 50+ points was huge. Jackson has continued to be the starter each week.
  • RB - Swift (833 – 2X, 89.36% survival), Williams (1342 – 1X, 83.07% survival), Pierce (6493, 80.44% survival), Mostert (929, 79.51% survival), B. Robinson (838, 76.85% survival), Wilson (1570 – 1X, 83.00% survival). In looking at % drops, the only performer in this group was Jeff Wilson, who only dropped 6% in survival. Need these guys to start stepping up a bit more. Swift has been steady, but ironically his survival rate dropped 8.5%, so slightly above the 10% cut, but not by much. This was a bit of a surprise.
  • WR - Sutton (3765 – 2X, 81.91% survival), Kirk (1262 – 2X, 92.92% survival), Burks (282, 78.06% survival), Palmer (1303, 81.82% survival), Pickens (3519, 79.86% survival), Doubs (2266 – 1X, 78.91% survival), W. Robinson (844, 77.93% survival). Sutton and Kirk continue to put up consistent weeks, with drops of 6% and 3% respectively. Palmer also overachieved this week which accounted for a drop of 7%.
  • TE - Andrews (715 – 2X, 89.21% survival), Goedert (1744 – 2X, 88.08% survival), Engram (728 – 1X, 85.00% survival). All three counted this week, which was the plan. Solid performances as Andrews dropped 1%, 4% Goedert and 3% for Engram. Part of the plan was thinking 3-4TEs, so plan is working.
  • K - Blankenship (5128 – 1X, 81.18% survival rate), Seibert (1043, 83.95% survival), Gano (893 – 1X, 84.71% survival). Cheap kickers are holding their own with a great score from Gano, accounting for 4% drop on survival, so he overperformed.
  • D – KC (412 – 2X, 81.80% survival), DET (568, 80.86% survival). Defenses are holding their own with survival rates exceeding 10%.

I agree.... was looking around and saw this Stud roster got eliminated! STUNNING! missed cut by 0.5 pts .... Scored 118.60 (Tapeworms)

QB: Herbert, Cousins & Mills
RB: JT, Saq & TDP
WR: Justin Jefferson, Mike Evans, Doubs
TE: Pitts, Njoku

37 Rosters with Lance and Evans... gotta be shaking next week.
I doubt that many teams had Lance without also having some other medium to high level QB. His injury will probably have more impact in a few weeks when those other QBs hit their byes.

Statistical Trivia and other observations....

The cut line moved 12.20 points on Monday night in week 1, and 20.10 points in week 2 with two Monday night games.
The week 1 "median score" was 150.95, and the week 2 median score was 151.05, a difference of only 1/10 of one point.

Teams with the Mike Evans / Tom Brady stack have a survival rate of 60.98% through 2 weeks, and that percentage likely drops further in week 3.
Kirk Cousins stunk last night (good thing I was not relying on his score).
Steelers fans were chanting for Pickett the entire 2nd half in Pittsburgh on Sunday. We'll see if Tomlin starts to consider making a change sooner rather than later. There are 956 surviving teams in this contest that hope he does.

The team I joked about yesterday, HolyHandGrenades, sat in 11,030th place with 13.80 points and 82.20 points below the cut line with 3 games remaining to be played, but scored 107.80 points in the Thursday night game, and 45.05 points on Monday night, to finish with 166.65 points in 3,202nd place. 91.7% of his points came from only 3 games.

If you avoided the injury bug (or suspension bug) so far, Congratulations! This truly is a game of chance.

Safely on to the third week but definitely regretting Pitts and DJ Moore. Happy with QB trio of Hurts/Goff/Pickett (it's only a matter of time for him.)

Usually there are some good buys among cheap receivers. Before the deadline I was trying to find a way to fit Agholor on my roster, but just could not make it work. Maybe I should have tried harder. This week he had 6/110/1 for 23 fantasy points. He won't hit every week because Belicheck is so unpredictable with his game plans, but I'll bet he'll end up being well worth the $3 over the course of the year. As we have all seen, not even the studs hit every week.

Yea neither do I. Happens every year waste 18 to 20 on 5 or 6 who have no chance to crack line up. Instead of spending it on one player. Just like last year I'll say not next year but it's a vicious cycle.

I recognize Amish Hitmen as a board regular, but forgot who it is. Anyways, here are the players we have in common:
QB - Cousins & Carr
RB - Barkley, Edmonds, Pierce, Z White
WR - Sutton, St. Brown, Smith-Schuster
TE - Kelce, Andrews, Pitts
K - Blankenship, Seibert
D - ARI, MIN
We share $228 worth of players. My only other players are RB's Moss & Wilson, and WR Kirk.

Overall contest survival rate is 81.02% (9950/12281). Here are the survival rates broken down by roster size:
83.26% = 20
83.23% = 18
81.54% = 19
81.52% = 24
80.40% = 23

76.34% = 22
75.00% = 26
73.71% = 25
72.87% = 30
63.75% = 29

As injuries occur, I expect the larger rosters to start making up ground.

Maybe I am wrong but I feel like I past years the bigger roosters generally performed better even in the early rounds. I will say that it seemed that there were less big ticket guys injured - and the decisions on the cheaper side were a little cloudier than usual.

Kupp carried my team through. But I made two choices with my final iteration that are yet to be validated.

Changed J.Allen + St.Brown + Hardman to Carr + Kupp

Changed Kelce + AJ Green to Pitts + MVS

After 2 weeks, it's hard to argue for the choices I made. But on to week 3

Where the future cutoffs stand after the week went final, as it was only off by 1 it didn't change future numbers:

Start 12254
10% Week 1 Cut to Number – 11029 11030
10% Week 2 cut to Number – 9927 9926
10% Week 3 cut to Number - 8935

How are the most common players doing so far? Let's look at everyone who started on 2K+ rosters:
7281 - Dameon Pierce - 4.4/8.2 - His snap count went from 20 to 39, while Burkhead went from 50 to 23. That's a great sign of things to come.
5675 - Rodrigo Blankenship - 9.5/0 - He scores 9.5 and gets cut for missing a 42-yarder? Did you also see his 2 kickoffs go out of bounds?
4289 - Courtland Sutton - 11.2/19.7 - DEN is banged up at WR, and Courtland is gonna be a target hog while they recuperate.
3912 - George Pickens - 1.3/3.3 - The clear #4 at the moment, behind Johnson, Claypool, and Freiermuth. Many mouths, small pie.
3327 - Derek Carr - 23.75/25.5 - Was QB13 last year, and is QB13 after 2 games this year. I am gonna say he finishes higher this year.
2770 - 49ers D - 4/8 - The average D scores almost 6 per game, but with a CHI/SEA start, I would've expected more from the Niners.
2765 - Kirk Cousins - 25.85/16.05 - I watched alot of the MIN/PHI game, and Cousins looked like crap. In his defense, PHI looked awesome.
2763 - Rhamondre Stevenson - 3.7/5.6 - Damien is stifling Rhamondre's fantasy value. BB ain't gonna shelve a guy who's averaging 5 YPC.
2706 - Chase Edmonds - 8.5/4.6 - He and Mostert swapped roles from game 1 to 2. At this point, I wish I had my $14 back.
2650 - Juju Smith-Schuster - 13.9/4 - I will give him a week 2 mulligan. He has 9 catches on 11 targets; now he just needs some yardage.
2587 - Saquon Barkley - 28.4/10.3 - It was a sight for sore eyes to see Saquon run wild in week 1. As an owner, I wanna see more of that.
2522 - Romeo Doubs - 8.8/4.7 - Who is going to be flavor of the week in GB? If I would've went big roster, I considered rostering all 6 for $34.
2508 - Allen Lazard - 0/9.3 - He needs to distance himself from the GB WR pack if he is going to return value. Let's see what week 3 brings.
2262 - AJ Dillon - 17.6/7.2 - His running mate looked so much better vs CHI. He may become TD dependent in this contest.
2175 - Packers D - 1/5 - They have a great schedule from weeks 4 thru 7 to show why they were so common.
2106 - Ravens D - 7/11 - I think it's comical the top 3 most common D's are not $3 options. Let's see how they fare.
2081 - Amon-Ra St. Brown - 20.4/39.4 - Keep the targets coming. His YPC may not be great, but it's higher than Kupp's right now.
2077 - Isaiah McKenzie - 9.9/5.7 - Week 2 was actually a disappointment with Gabe out. But hey, for $6, what are you expecting?
2035 - Jalen Hurts - 27.15/39.35 - I was not a believer in Hurts... until I really watched him play week 2. Is he that good?

2035 - Jalen Hurts - 27.15/39.35 - I was not a believer in Hurts... until I really watched him play week 2. Is he that good?
Fantasy wise, he can be top 3. He's not as good a real NFL quarterback...he doesn't always read the entire progression before taking off with his legs....but he's much improved in that area as well. Probably QB20 last year and QB10 this year in terms of real world QB play.

maybe...though I'm not sure Culpepper had Hurts baseline capability ex Carter and Moss. maybe the edge to culpepper as a passer and the edge to Hurts as a runner...but Hurts IS evolving as a passer.

The Steelers defense made David Njoku look more like Travis Kelce tonight... Managers of 1214 teams in this contest are wearing a big fat smile :) tonight!

I spazzed out when I saw that Renfrow is out (I also have Mitchell and Blankenship) but (a) I'm getting Kittle and Dobbins back this week and (b) the ownership is really high at the top of the list so that implies SOME safety amongst that relative crowd.

Some reporter claimed TE Pharaoh Brown had been ruled out along with Brevin Jordan 2 days ago. He and his 25 surviving owners will be thrilled to know he is active.

Here are the others from the 1pm games that I left off the list above:
$3420 - TE Taysom Hill
$1551 - WR Jakobi Meyers
$976 - RB Kenyan Drake
$384 - WR Velus Jones
$366 - RB Myles Gaskin
$312 - RB Ronald Jones
$308 - WR Terrace Marshall
$153 - WR James Proche

Good luck this week!

Kelce and Andrews came through again. I might have to change my view on pocket passer QB over running QB. Jackson and Hurts are out there wearing superhero capes

had some good 1pm scores, but theyre all the high-owned players. wonder how much itll help.

also, completely unrelated to anything brag: 60% jamaal williams in best ball leagues :hifive:

1:00 games done and I’m feeling confident. 177.80. Courtland Sutton and Romeo Doubs -12.30 and 13.90. I do enjoy not sweating the Turk.

Welcome to the party Laviska Shenault Jr :excited:
His 17 today might just save me
After 1 pm games per Quizzomatic:

112.40 + (Barkley/Wilson - 0/5.30/6.90/17.10) + (Sutton/Hollywood Brown/Palmer - 0/6.90/13.90/17.00) + (Pitts/Higbee - 0/2.20/6.90) + Arizona - 3.00
