Side note, is there a way to change my team name to something more fun, or am I stuck with the number?

I'm not sure how to change your team name, but another guy (Saint) recently did it, so perhaps he can help you. He posted at 6:22am today so if you scroll back 16 posts from this one you'll see his post. You can try sending him a private message or replying to his post with your question. I recall that he had changed his team name to "Thursday" before the start of the season and when he tried to change it back, there was apparently a wait period involved. He was apparently finally able to get the change made. Good luck with that. If you get your team name changed, let us know.
I actually changed the user name as a joke on the main event thread without realizing there was a 30 day period to change it back. Don’t make my mistake.

There is a way to change just your contest entry. I’m on vacation this week but will shoot you a note if you drop me a pm.

This is probably going to be my last week in this contest. Renfrow is invisible and Juju just can't produce. A WR squad that netted about 100 pts a few weeks ago is looking to net less than 20 pts this week.

Just a :poop: week in general.

My team is not long for the contest as we go deeper. I survived this week, but I have Smith-Schuster and D.J. Chark taking up 22 wide receiver dollars. And Braxton Berrios makes twenty-six.

The first two seem like they have long-term medical problems prohibiting contributions, and Berrios can't get in the lineup. Not sure what I was thinking with him. Upside? No, not really much. Bad pick.

That's no way to get through this competition. Too bad, so sad, the Turk is inevitable.

I missed the cut by 0.10 points. The first 4 weeks I was doing really well. My WR corps was the weakness. Such a great contest. Good luck the rest of the way!

Sorry to see you depart. Any normal week from LJax or something at TE and you roll on

Is there anything you would do different strategy wise in hingsight like dropping from 4 QB

Welp, I've been eliminated. I think this might be the earliest I've been eliminated in a long while. Couple years at least.

I think I actually had a pretty strong team for survival, with one glaring flaw: my TEs, all 3 were pretty much busts that well underperformed their price. This was a weird week, back on Monday I was expecting my best week yet at it looked like my "choose a bunch of RB2s in good spots to become RB1s" strategy had paid off with Hines, Robinson, and Allegeier all getting expanded roles this weekend. But then the dominos started to fall. Chark and McKenzie out, Pitts and Knox out... and that was all she wrote. 29 player roster still taken out by injuries (well that, and simply no player managed to do better than "ehh-decent" for the week.

Oh well, there's always next year. Best of the luck to those who remain.

Maybe is isn't the case for most, but I'm below the cut line and my flex replacement score is Sutton at 12.4.
I'm just a tad above (134.00) with Sutton as my only WR in double digits
I'm a tad below with one Chief and one Raider left.
Which Chief and which Raider, and when do they start counting?
MVS (5.40) and Carr (14.55). Given all the variables, it's looking like a scenario with 12.5 from MVS and 27 from Carr to comfortably advance. Just over 39 total. That's what I got last week from Kupp and Wilson and cleared the line by 9.55 pts.
Got just over 39 this week from MVS and Carr and cleared the line.

Top 10 most common QB's after 5 weeks are:

Derek Carr - 1602 (no change)
Kirk Cousins - 1320 (no change)
Jalen Hurts - 1087 (no change)
Lamar Jackson - 822 (up 1)
Josh Allen - 752 (up 9)
Matt Ryan - 690 (up 1)
Trey Lance - 641 (down 3)
Russell Wilson - 626 (no change)
Kenny Pickett - 599 (up 4)
Trevor Lawrence - 590 (down 2)

I too was a smitten Pitten to start the contest. @TheWinz was the smart one to stack him with Kelce and Andrews. I wisely opted for a Brate pairing instead.

Very rough count for next week show for the 5741 live roosters (15 alive staff entries included) shows a total of 6748 kickers sure to be active (barring any new mishaps/injuries/cuts) plus 906 more with at least some injury doubt. 2 of the 6 kickers left with over 50% survival are on bye.

Anyway it's clear that the bulk of teams will be rocking 1 kicker and many with 0 - could have an outsized affect on the cut. This is where the real fun begins.

-QG

Kickers left on 500+ roosters:
Blank 2788 :lmao: - and he's so common that his survival is higher than the overall average.
McPherson 584
Tucker 582
Gano 571
Seibert 566 (also above average survivorship)
Koo 515

Btw while the 2 highest survivorship percentages are Gano (56.31%) and York (55.73%) and they have a reasonable combined cost of $7 if you put the two together only 2 of those 11 roosters with both are still alive.

After being a moron and selecting only Blankenship and Seibert, is it rude to wish for 20 pulled hammies this week?

With the bye weeks coming up, I'm curious how people incorporated that into their strategy. My thought was to front-load my bye weeks, since it gets harder and harder to make the cut the further we get into the competition. That way, my roster should be a relatively fuller strength towards the end of the bye weeks. For example, I took Goff (week 6 bye) and Cousins (week 7 bye) as my 2 QBs, so I ensure (barring injury) that I've got both scores available throughout most of the harder weeks. How did everyone else approach that?

Down to just Gano this week, but I guess that's better than a lot of entries at this point. I'll also be hurting at RB with Henry and Pierce on bye, leaving me only 3 left. On the bright side, the timing couldn't be better for Stevenson and Eno to contribute and help Chubb out. Amon-Ra and Hock also out, so I'll need Pickens to continue to grow and Zay to get back on track, and a good game from Goedert. It would also be nice if Schultz would start earning his keep, but I'm not holding my breath on that.

QB - Cousins (3), Carr (2)
Averaging 24.8; not doing great, but not sucking either.

RB - Barkley (5), Pierce & Wilson (3), Edmonds (2), Z. White & Moss (0)
Oh no! Zamir is on his bye.

WR - Sutton (4), Kirk & Smith-Schuster (3), St. Brown (2)
Started great, but getting me worried now.

TE - Kelce (5), Andrews (4), Pitts (1)
Getting nearly 47 per week from the Kelce/Andrews combo.

K - Seibert (2), Blankenship (1)
I dunno which kicker to award the last 2 goose eggs to.

D - ARI (3), MIN (2)
Averaging 6.4 - expected closer to 8.

Rebounded from Week 4 brush with death by finishing well above the cut line.

Week 6, here come the byes (Lions, Texans, Titans, Raiders)

24-man Roster, currently down SWatkins, Blankenship. Losing Carr, DPierce, Hooper (complete non-factor thus far). ARob a non-factor, Julio always hurt, Knox and Hopkins nicked.

Potential Week 6 Rooster:

Cousins/Ryan

Dillon/Hunt/Singletary/Wilson
Sutton/GDavis/Boyd/Palmer (ARob/Julio)
Engram (Knox)

McManus (Hopkins)
Ravens/Packers/49'ers

15 Players I can rely on, including 3 fighting for 1 spot (D/ST), and 2QB for 1 as well.
Evan Engram MUST blow up @ Colts if Knox (foot, hamstring, Quintin Morris*!*) doesn't go.
Literally every one of my available Player must have above-average-to-great days. That is not a recipe for survival...but we shall see.

With all the PK issues across the League, Rodrigo must really not pass NFL muster. I can find no news of him even getting a tryout since his 09/27 workout for the Jaguars. :sigh:

All the way back on page 21 is my full rooster breakdown but the topic of spreading the byes came up so reposting this bit:

Spread of byes:
Week 6: 5 players on bye for $31 (Pierce and White thinning my RB herd the most significant)
Week 7: 3 players on bye for $38 (Josh Allen is the big bye here)
Week 8: 2 players on bye for $21 (JuJu the higher priced one)
Week 9: 4 players on bye for $54 (a tough one - no Saquon, no Sutton)
Week 10: 4 players on bye for $48 (my 3 Bengals are off: Mixon, Hurst and Money Mac)
Week 11: 2 players on bye for $6 (light week)
Week 13: 2 players on bye for $21 (Marquise Brown)
Week 14: 3 players on bye for $31 (Pitts is the big one here)

-QG

Mainly I sought to diversify my byes. JuJu is pretty much on my team because it almost felt obligatory to throw a few dollars into a week that I assume would have a lot of dollars invested due to Kansas City and the Chargers being the only byes but ones with a lot of players chosen.

Week 9 is the nervy part with no Barkley and no Sutton and no Watson and no Pickens. Basically rolling with whatever Mixon gets vs the Panthers and whatever Pierce gets against the Eagles.

Week 7 is relatively light but having Goff's score against the Cowboys counting now is...sub-optimal.

The Bengal bye in week 10 is the other one that has the heaviest investment. While Mixon and Hurst are pretty manageable absences. I really need somebody to be foolish enough to add Blank or Seibert but if I make it that far I won't be the only one getting hammered at kicker at least.

-QG

The brutal thing with Blank is that he seems like he is a head-case by kicker standards. With Seibert what makes it worse is that he ended his tenure injured. Really makes it hard to be hopeful with them at all even with as many kickers getting hurt as their has been. Though with Gould's injury status up in the air we'll find out today if the 49ers at least give either of them a look.

this team is pretty sweet too, excellent rb strat to win a big best ball contest. $38 out with injuries at TE in one week sucks. sorry man.

I like that format, here's mine:
Spread of byes:
Week 6: 3 players on bye for $34 (Goff, Pierce, Renfrow, need Cousins to have a good game, Pierce should be a wash with so many people rostering him, and Renfrow hasn't been a factor for me all season)
Week 7: 3 players on bye for $40 (Cousins, Mattison, Sanders, need Goff to show up, Mattison is only there as a handcuff for Dalvin Cook injuries, feeling ok about Etienne, Hall, and Pierce holding down the fort)
Week 8: 2 players on bye for $45 (JuJu and Kelce, just need Ertz to be good or get another unicorn game out of Mo Alie-Cox)
Week 9: 2 players on bye for $22 (Sutton and Gano, still have Greg the Leg at kicker that week)
Week 10: 3 players on bye for $33 (Hall, Corey Davis, Zuerlein, Hall and Davis have both overperformed for me, so this is actually a bit concerning)
Week 11: 2 players on bye for $25 (Etienne, Seahawks D)
Week 13: 1 players on bye for $15 (Ertz)
Week 14: 5 players on bye for $34 (Mooney, Watkins, Mo Alie-Cox, Commanders D, Bears D, lots of players who haven't been contributing, not worried unless others on roster get hurt)

Did I miss it upthread, or has someone done a run yet on notably rostered players who will be unavailable due to bye this week, and their how many entries are carrying them?

I'm no good at obtaining that kind of info, but grateful to anyone who might be inclined to provide it.
