2022 NBA Roster Draft - This draft goes to 12! (1 Viewer)

Lowry was the #2 guy on my list when I took Bridges. Didn’t want to get stuck with [redacted] at point.

Thank God I made a list this afternoon. If it gets to me I can actually pick. But it's my best friends karaoke COVID make up birthday sooooo

Yeah, I thought Lowry was sticking out as the BPA even though I wasn't sure how he would pair with Lamelo on offense. Instead I'll go with someone I already know works well Lamelo, Scary Terry Rozier.

Averaging just over 3 3PM a game over the last two years and can also run the offense when needed. Embiid is surrounded by shooters and we're going to score a lot of points.

Tatum is holding him back
You know this is true.

I was actually furious at Brad for not playing Time Lord more against the Bam roll, in that Miami series we lost. Bam destroyed Theis that day.  If Brad only listened to me.  The Celtics reddit was at war with me that day.  They all said Time Lord wasn't any good.  I fought every one of them.  Idiots.

I have read about that issue in past years.

Before drafting I read an article that came out a week or so ago with tons of quotes and stats backing up his recent play on defense has gone up a couple of notches in all areas.  That swayed me to take him over a couple of other options.

He definitely passes the eye test, I don’t watch a ton of Celtics games but that Knicks game, and also a recent Pacers game were jaw dropping.
Very good passer too.  He has been a great since this since the day he arrived in Boston...even if he arrived late.  :TimeLord:

The injuries seem to be overstated at times.  I had a theory that the Celtics were not playing him so they could sign him for cheaper.

Dort and Love fighting a bit   Dort bout to be ejected imo.

I am watching the Cavs game now, kinda high. If I could just see Jarrett Allen out there ballin, with a giant pik in his hair like Questlove, my life would be complete.

Darius Kinnard Garland, from Gary Indiana, kinda reminds me of Ja Morant.....if Ja popped a tranq or two before the game.

Well, none of the true guards I liked made it back to me. Going to go a bit with who I think is best available here, even though the fit on the roster is a little weird. May end up being more of the sixth man/token starter depending on the match up, but it's a role that he can certainly excel in. He'll be able to be a facilitator on the second unit while providing really good size and shooting when he plays with the starters. Just think there could be some defensive match up issues with quicker guards if he's with the rest of my current starters all the time, but hope that's a little easier to mitigate later in the draft.

4.06 Gordon Hayward, SF, CHA

@Juxtatarotis on the clock.

Getting sniped sooooo bad. FML. Give me a few, I had my pick settled between either Grant or Hayward about 5 minutes ago.

Just because my pick is coming up soon—I have a question.  Are we only permitted to trade picks—or are we able to trade players as well?

4.08 Harrison Barnes F

Plus defender at either forward position, plus shooter, and has developed a pretty decent iso game. He is Daryl Morey's wet dream. Takes all of his shots in either the restricted area (about 52% of his shots are either at the rim or within 10 feet) or behind the 3 point line (47% of his shots) and has an absolutely preposterous free throw rate of .447 and converts at an 83% clip.

@jvdesigns2002

So far with Trae, Beal and Ayton—I need to focus on one of the forward positions next.  My perfect fit would be somebody that is decent both offensively and defensively—and I like Tobias Harris as the guy to check those boxes. Just a pretty solid all around player.

Tobias Harris is my pick.

@trader jake

4.10 - SF Dillon Brooks - MEM

Absolutely relentless defender and he's not afraid of taking the shot when some seem to run from the ball.  He forces turnovers at a high rate (great steal guy) but that can lead to foul trouble at times.  On offense he can get too aggressive playmaking, but that shouldn't be a concern with Chris Paul and Jrue Holiday in the backcourt here.  Trying to build a top defense and Dillon helps on the wing.

Alright. Harder than I thought because both my targets remain.

I will take Royce O Neal. I now have fantastic defensive pieces at center and wing, with solid defenders at SG and PF. Four guys who are positives, which is really hard to do.

Add to that ONeal and Bane are over 40% from three and have high 3pt attempt rates...a KD led offense that's gonna get stops is incredible. Also leaves a lot of flexibility with KD able to handle the ball and two guys who can defend any PG so my fifth starter can basically be anybody 1-4 that I want and that guy will fit in.

I love this start. I strongly contemplated Lowry bit LOVE the low low usage of Royce at under 10% usage rate. Guy defends, rebounds, and knocks down catch and shoot threes. That's all I want and all we need.
