2022 Philadelphia Eagles - Leave Gannon in Arizona and let’s run through the NFC again in 2023. (2 Viewers)

Report me if you want to. It's not like I didn't warn you. Also, I found this post on the Official NFL Reddit.
I dont think he was referring to you
Yeah I was combining points into one post. The only thing that offends me about that is cocky Howie. He's proven he can build a winner but not maintain one, but like I said that next season's problem.

I'll give Howie a pass. Who wouldve seen the Carson collapse like he did, cratering his career it seems by not allowing himself to be coached. Made playoffs every year other than the 2020 crap season. Seems he knows what he is doing at this point. I'm sure past the point of doubting him b/c he always covers up his mistakes IMMEDIATELY.

…And knows how to work the cap to allow him to do so.

I mean yea, we spent a few years doubling down to try to go back to the Super Bowl. Understandable. Other then two bad WR picks, drafting has been fine. And the great OL picks should easily outweight the WR picks.

I think JJAW and Reagor put the stink on Howie. I can't really blame Howie for the Chip Kelly years. The moves we made to move up and get Wentz and still have draft capital was huge. If I remember correctly after we won the Super Bowl all of the draft capital we gave to Cleveland for Wentz was already paid in full.

After seeing all these off-season WR trades, I love AJ "Touchdown" Brown! I only hope this is the beginning of many more years.

The sacks are getting problematic though. Mailata isnt playing great in pass pro.
this was quite pronounced last night. I don't remember this being a problem at the start of the season, but i think jordan was out a game a few weeks ago. is he maybe not 100%?

Just playing poorly. Needs more reps or get into better game shape or something. Oline has been shaky the last few games. Luckily we have one of the best qbs on earth.

Tonight's game menu should call for a ton of runs. HOU is allowing a crap ton of rushing yds and King Henry put up TWO HUNDREDED on his own on Sunday. Coming into this short week after dealing with a bruiser like DH is a recipe for good success for the Eagles. They should also feast on the HOU passing game tonight. My only concern is how much of the run defense is effected without Jordan Davis. No excuse we shouldn't win this going away and resting starters in the 4th QTR again.

Also since I got my Chauncey Gardner Johnson Jersey He has 4 INTs in 3 games.

5 INTS now in 4 games. Really getting worried with the run game coming up against some Good RBs soon. Texans didn't win but showed one way to beat the Eagles right now is run it down the defenses throat and try and control time of possession. One of the big reasons HOU stayed in this game they had no business being so close in. Sloppy win but I guess we should've expected that on Thursday night. Like I said in the game thread wouldn't mind the Eagles losing at some point soon as it seems guys are starting to press a little. Undefeated season really isn't the goal here like Nick said. Its winning playoff games at the end of the day.

What an all-time dark day in Philly sports. Union gut punch 2 minutes from championship and Phillies cap off their 3 game collapse. What’s the return policy on barrels of pole grease?

Makes me nervous for MNF next week.

Don't remind me The thing that sucks with the Union is the player that scored the LAFC Club may have gotten illegally but the league doesn't care. It's almost like when MLS returned and had their bubble MLS is back Tourney. Right after they had a shorten Season. A guy named Gonzalo Higiuan who's brother was in the league came over from Juventus in Italy and his first match was against the Union. There were so weird parameters about how Gonzo got a visa so quick etc. It took like 3 days from the initial signing to when he played which is ridiculously fast. Rumors came out from several MLS leakers that MLS may have bent the rules. Gonzo also a missed a Penalty shot and almost started a brawl with us after too in a match we blanked them while scoring 3. We found out this past season before the year Inter Miami who signed a bunch of DP's and illegally had too many on the roster and got away with some roster gimmicks. They had to loan 2 players out and traded another to get to league rules. Our Technical Directer/GM Ernest Tanner made a comment on rules being bent in July by MLS in a very casual you are dumb if you believe they got these guys for this type comment. League fined him.

Lets just say MLS isn't a Union or their fans biggest friend right now. Overall it was the best match in league Cup history and I feel bad if you ever missed it. There wasn't anything controversial in the end like a ref decision either. A few times in the match ref could've given a card or a 2nd yellow to players but didn't Any time he was mentioned on commentary it was in good light too. Talking to players explaining his decisions etc. Really only controversy was something off the pinch of a player not being legal. That and the LA fans hitting the Union players on the side line with bottles that MLS skimmed over.

Phillies we were playing with house money. We didn't expect to be here in June especially after Blake Snell broke Harper's wrist on my birthday. However we got rid of the fraud manager and took Topper with us. Our pitching got better as the year went on and we got ourselves a cool #3 in Ranger Suarez. Losing this sucks especially to the Astros but this is like Losing to the Patriots when they were cheating. Cool you beat us lets see if you can do it without cheating. Lets go get me some new bottom rotation guys, and fix the pen. Line up wise we're fine IMHO. Maybe Segura gets replaced and add a bat in CF defensively.

Overall I'm super happy with both clubs and how the guys played. Union suck to lose but we lost to the better team is all and we are proving to MLS you don't need to sign stars to get to MLS Cup or succeed in the league.

I said it in the MLB thread and I’ll say it here. The Astros cheated like 4 or 5 years ago. Their championship this year had nothing to do with cheating. You really need to stop.

huh?
Djax was whining in the MLB thread (free for all) that the Astros World Series win last night was due to cheating. No other Phillies fans were complaining.

ETA - I only posted in here because he mentioned it again in this thread for some reason.

Extra dark for me. Also a bama fan and they are basically done after their loss yesterday. All time bad day for sure.

I've been thinking the same. Howie learned major lessons from the DK/JJaw Jefferson/Reagor situations. The last two drafts are paying dividends because they're not reaching any more. They're finally taking the SEC/National Champ/Heisman caliber players.

In former Philly News Frank Reich was just fired as Indy's coach. There's talk of Steichen being hired at season end. For now Chris Ballard the GM job is safe but I'd put betting odds low of him coming back. There's talk if Steichen leaves Reich hired to replace him given his friendship and mentorship with Nick Sirianni.

Writing was on the wall for Reich last year and probably should've been fired then but I think Isray wanted to plan this is a way that Isray got his QB he wanted and didn't succeed under Reich type thing. There's a lot of meddling by Isray with his team here. Ballard was a pretty good GM and scout involved in Matt Forte draft and getting Brandon Marshall as well as Martellus Bennet. In KC he helped them get Travis Kelce, Tyreke Hill Marcus Peters. In Indy getting Darious Shaquil Leonard and Quenton Nelson

Fun video from the Underdog guys and McCown breaking down the Eagles. i do enjoy the under-current how the Eagles are frauds because of the easy schedule.

That game was soul-crushing from the Union side but had to be like a fairy tale from the LAFC side, the kind of game you make your grandkids watch highlights of. Back and forth exciting game. Your keeper martyrs his own leg to keep it tied in extra time. Your (ill-gotten?) international superstar super-subs and scores with only minutes left to send it to PKs. (BTW, we better get revenge on 11/21) Your backup keeper (yes, I know he's a "PK specialist") comes in vs the MLS Keeper of the Year but blanks the Union in PKs to win the cup and after a scary start with a Blake save. And it was at home with plenty of time to go out and party in LA!

Updated Vegas odds have us now as the Super Bowl favourites, damn. (insert cowboysfan rushing to reply that all of us think we are going to win the sb).

Actually I probably won’t be replying to you very often anymore since you reported me in the game thread and got me a lil timeout

Thanks for that

Most sites still have the Bills as favorites, with Eagles at #2.

From a pure betting +EV perspective, I like Miami's odds tbh. +2200 vs +275?

I wonder how much this will change pending Josh Allen's injury update (UCL damage).
If he misses games, it will (and should) change significantly. With only one team getting a bye, getting the #1 seed in your conference is huge...and there isn't any margin of error in the AFC. You've got 9 teams with 6 or 7 wins...crazy.

Is this true @Deamon ? Did you use the report button?

I don’t need to know any of the backstory, just if you reported someone or not.

I definitely think Buff and KC are the two strongest teams in the league, but from a betting standpoint, I can see why the Eagles would be odds favourites since they would have an easier path there.

Yep. I'd have them both ahead too, but from a betting numbers % standpoint, they're going to be lower

As a neutral it should've been exciting and maybe bring more fans to league. As a Union fan that was just so Union which is a phrase many of us since the beginning would say because, It could only happen like that to the Union. Or no one could do that but us.

I’ll have to take a look at San Fran’s odds. If that defense is fully healthy for the playoffs, they have a great shot.

I've been saying here for weeks San Fran could be dangerous in the playoffs. Plus they got a Vet QB who has playoff experience who is in a perfect spot with the offense they have.

When I read the game thread after the game it looks like a mod who I wasn't familiar with went into the thread. Didn't response to any particular person but noted several posters to be better and keep it to football. Stop attacking others on opinions. I think it was Moodog or someone who responded to someone not knowing who Chris Moore was as a light joke and the mod took that the wrong way too. I don't think whoever the poster was got in trouble but did see a mod in there. I got an idea on several who would report though but I didn't see any of them in that thread. But the mod made mention that several posters to knock it off or they would be receiving some time off from here and mentioned possible perminite bans too

Found it. I was right on most of it but worded what the mod said. Basically he said if several posters couldn't talk football and just take random shots at each other they won't be here. Please keep the thread to football

the "New Heights" latest podcast is an interview with Hurts. I think it was pretty good, it is easy to forget the guy is just a kid a lot of the time. you can tell a bit in the interview, good stuff and good vibes with the team. Discuss if Kelce is going to retire soon.............:

Eagles had interest in Jamal Adams if he had cleared or got to them in Waivers as they wanted some safety depth. They poked around a bit on adding another safety and Howie knew Adams was available but LVR seemed to be asking for too much for a guy most teams thought would be cut after this season. GB claimed him off Waivers so he'll be facing us. Hasn't been great against the run and has battled some injuries. He seemed to have some maturity issues when Raiders were on Hard Knocks with Grudden there but seemed to overcome them. Most of his issues was his aggressive play style that could lead to bad personal fouls
