2022 Philadelphia Eagles - Leave Gannon in Arizona and let’s run through the NFC again in 2023. (1 Viewer)

Great move by Howie. Are the Bears playing a new Defense this year? I see that Robert Quinn is one of the most double teamed defensive lineman in the league, per ESPN Next Gen stats. Thinking the change of scenery back to a better suited system will be good for him and our team in a rotation. Chris Long 2017 vibes...

Bears fan checking in. Quinn has mostly sucked this year, he's basically useless against then run, and wasn't the pass rusher his sack totals say he was last year. I was hoping he'd fetch a 3 off name, but totally happy with a 4. I got a big bang of Allen Robinson off of him so far this year. I doubt he'll be missed, but he wouldn't be the first guy to be revitalized moving to a contender.

Worth a flier for Philly in my eyes, but I doubt its some amazing steal. I would bet he's the #4 DE on the team.
I mean you guys are paying most of his salary this year. And he has no guaranteed money left after this year. And he's been double teamed all year, tired of not being on a contender, and having to play an extremely high snap % at his age.... none of those things happen in Philly.

I think it has potential for a very big steal but might work out well for both teams since it didn't really make sense for you guys to keep him.

Not quite as excited as some others here. Quinn a bit long in the tooth, and expensive.

Bears picking up any guarantee and he helps the depth for this year. His Sack rate is misleading as he's getting Double teamed and will have better personal. Also in a system again where he got 18 sacks with the Bears last year. He's also a great locker room guy.

I've heard the Eagles aren't done yet. We'll see what they can do. Tarron Jackson was released to make the move for Robert Quinn and the Eagles activated the 21 day window off IR for TE Tyree Jackson.

Trade Deadline next Tues. Eagles could use some Safety Depth help and a downhill back. Don't get your hopes up on a Kareem Hunt. He's gonna be too expensive and the fact he lied to Coach Reid who was legit trying to help Hunt at the time doesn't sit well with Big Red's former employer considering the respect they have for the former Eagles HC. I've heard from a few people had Hunt told the truth and was honest from the get go with KC he'd probably never would be released as Andy is big on 2nd chances. it was the fact Hunt lied about everything and misled the team putting them in a bad spot is what got him released.

I expect TJack on the PS once he clears waivers

Yea, doesn't seem like a 'steal' but a good move for DE depth. I mean he HAS to be better then the veteran DE Kerrigan we used last year... just a few half decent snaps a game so Graham can get a breather is all I ask

Agree. He’s 32 and has 1 sack on the season. Can’t blame Howie for burning a 4 on a guy that could capture his past greatness on a team that isn’t trash like yours.

Quinn had 18.5 sacks on a trash team just last year.

Stay classy Philly.

Can you honestly think of any other team thread where you would read stuff like this?

Can I offer you a Dodger Blue hanky to dry your tears?

And, since I hadn't seen it posted, yet:

Source: The Bears are picking $7.1 million of DE Robert Quinn’s remaining salary for the season. That means the Eagles will pay him a little more than $700K (the vet minimum) for the rest of the year.

At the least...it's a very nice depth/rotation move; with an upside of a legit shot in the arm in regards to getting to the QB.

considering how much OL are double teaming our current DL, worst case scenario with bringing Quinn is that he will free up other guys on the DL who will get more stats. they are saying he will play around 17-20 snaps, and with a guy like Jordan Davis likely increasing snaps after the bye, Quinn won't have to worry about the run at all.

i think it is a win for both, Chicago got at least something in return, and Eagles strengthened an area that needed some support

I don’t get everyone arguing if this a steal or not. I guarantee you that Poles called every single GM about Quinn since he was hired. Philly outbid everyone else. There was no consideration by Chicago of trading in the division, conference, etc. The bears suck and are in a rebuild so they don’t care who they trade with. It is almost the definition of fair market value.

If anything the Eagles paid too much. Poles knew what other teams were willing to offer. Howie did not. For all we know the Eagles could have been bidding against themselves. I’m not saying this happened, but the odds are infinitesimally greater that Philly overpaid than Howie convincing Poles to take a lesser pick.

well, the fun part is that we will actually have a bit of a conclusive answer in a few months. my guess is Quinn will be worth a late 4th rounder, and i also believe CHicago will benefit from this more so because of the good faith the team can show toward players.

if you are a future free agent, would you want to go to an org. that gives the impression it cares for it's aging veterans, or rather be seen as shrewd org. that ships off players for best value

I remember back during the WS year and then the next year when Phillies played in LA against Dodgers the fans there were awful. Someone fell from the bleacher section got seriously hurt and a buddy of mine heard a few Dodger fans joke and say they hoped it was a Phillies fan. When leaving security gave Philly fans stuff to cover their Phillies gear and bags to put hats and **** and told them to run to the exits don't stop get in their taxi cars etc or they will get stabbed or killed. Going to the rest room heard of Phillies fans getting pissed and spit on and my one friend taking a piss had two guys bash bottles on his head and poor his friends daughter had piss from a cup thrown on her.

I got a friend who is a Milan fan I've met over the Milan twitter in soccer from LA and he's a Dodgers fan Even told me if I come to visit come for a non Phillies game and neutral game would be safer and don't wear any philly Gear.

Trash is being kind

Trying to watch a bears game is god awful. I'd rather drink bleach. Fields another overhyped OSU QB, OC has no idea how to get the playmakers they have involved, they really aren't even trying to play to any of the strengths the QB does have, defense is awful, they got guys wanting out left and right. Just a mess.

They will be $125 mil under the cap after this season, they will be fine.

The Kamara rumours are really heating up. Sounds like this may actually happen.
where are these rumors?
A quick search of "Alvin Kamara trade rumors" found this:

I have no idea how reliable The Sports Rush is, given it contains this paragraph:
After 7 games into the season, the Eagles have won just 2 and lost as many as 5 games. Their stars haven’t fired and luck hasn’t favored them either. With the trade deadline approaching quickly, they might look to make some trades in order to figure out better combinations.

I like how they don't even know exactly how many games they have lost. It could be as many as 5 but we can't be certain. :lmao:

If you’re saying that because the cowboys fans that post here have more class than the eagles fans that called a random posters team garbage because he said a player may not be a pro bowler for you I agree 100%

Bogus website ran by amateurs not at all reliable. Site from India and the author of the article isn't followed by anyone of the major NFL analyst or any of the insiders on twitter. In fact no major name even follows them. 132 followers to his name most are bot generated.

This one from a slightly better source but with Twitter, accounts do sometimes circle jerk each other making a rumor come to life.

Also not reliable. This is from the same people who said the Eagles were trading Ertz etc for Julio Jones awhile back. The rumor is nothing more then that a rumor. It's just one of those things analyst can circle jerk each other like with our multiple 1st rounders people saying we were in on Wilson/Watson. Was never happening but makes for cool click bait on these sites. My favorite part in all of that was everyone claiming sources telling them Eagles were still in on Watson a year after the team sent PI's to Hou who came back and told Howie keep away.

Its why I hate the offseason during or prior to FA or during a draft and trade deadlines. All of a sudden everyone and their mother has "sources' when they throw **** up on a wall hoping it sticks. You also have zero accountability anymore for being wrong. 15 yrs ago the stunt with Adam Scheftar with Grudden and All he'd have been fired for. Its all about the clicks and views. Youtube streamers to this constantly as well. I've wasted 15 mins on watching videos I think I'm getting something out of it only for them to repeat the same **** that people already knew already in the last 5 mins of the video.

Starting to think that there's one "type" of QB that you like and support.

I'm gonna only post this once and ignore the rest, but I'd be careful what you're insinuating here it doesn't make you look good when its wrong.

i don't know, seems legit to me. Eagles are definitely interested in roping in an RB.

Are they interested in an RB? Sure but they aren't paying premium draft capital for them either. Like I said after the CMAC trade and Brian Burns Eagles plan out their moves well in advance. The CMAC trade would be something they'd do in the offseason no at the trade deadline. Eagles don't value the RB position to that extent. They'll grab a cheap option at the deadline and if they aren't sold on Miles or can't come to terms in the offseason they'll draft a guy depending if someone falls 2nd round or later and maybe sign an FA vet as well on the cheap.

Plus trading draft capital or financial resources like that for RBs is not economically feasible in todays age of the NFL. Short shelf life and IMHO anyone with this OL Healthy can run behind it and look good. Just not the Eagles MO to trade for a big name back and trade mega picks for them. If they got Kamara it'd have to an absolute fleecing and NO trying to do a Salary type dump move. Plus from actual articles saints people are even saying Kamara trade wouldn't help the Saints much right now anyway and could probably get more for him in the offseason.

I read most of the threads, don’t you? I update the Boys thread sometimes but there aren’t many Boys fans here anymore. Oh well

Anyway, it’s a public board. If you only want to read Eagles fans, I would suggest posting on an eagles board.

I do have a question though, why do some of you go on tilt when someone posts something that’s not flattering about the football team that you root for?
I find it fascinating, confusing and frankly, kind of hilarious. Tia

I'll answer with a rhetorical: Why do you feel the need to come where you know it's predominantly Eagles fans and passive-aggressively post digs at a team you don't root for?

In general, Philly fans don't do passive-aggressive. It's kind of a Northeast hallmark to be aggressive-aggressive when somebody is trying to big-time or act dooshy.

Also, I am allowed to say my brother is a weirdo. You're not allowed to say it, and if you do, I'll let you know it's not ok.

The guy searches out anything negative he can possibly say about the Eagles and posts it. And then plays the "wow you can't even say anything but amazing things or you guys get mad" as another passive-aggressive dig at the team. Not sure he could muster a good thing about a rival team if he tried

It's pretty pathetic.
