2022 Philadelphia Eagles - Leave Gannon in Arizona and let’s run through the NFC again in 2023. (3 Viewers)

McLeod to the Colts, so that rules out any Derek Barnett-type situation.

One of the underrated "great" FA signings for the Eagles when he came here in 2016.

With no real experience on the back end, now we REALLY need Mathieu :(
i have to think they let him go knowing they had some indication they could get Honey Badger to sign. Saints really don't have much cap room at all with some more serious needs, so i would think the Eagles would be in the front

Great player but more IMPORTANT AND AWESOME PERSON. His family and him were great. I've met pro athletes significant others before and Rodney's wife is one of the nicest ones I've met when it comes to being personable and friendly.

Anthony Harris is meh, imo

I remember when people really wanted Harrison Smith Safety out of ND. I was listening to the Painted Lines podcast and I think Shane Hauff made a great analogy. Anthony Harris is just a younger version of Harrison Smith. He's suitable starter but you could do far worse too. I'd rather of them had signed Jalen Mills then bring in Harris though.

Only thing Saints have over us in this is The Saints play in NO where he's from so it's possible he could play on a home town discount too.

To give an example of this I've met both John LeClair and Jason Kelce wife's.

John has no issue with people stopping and talking to him. Will gladly sign some flyer memorabilia. His Wife seems aggravated by it but a lot of times it's her own husband initiating the Hi's and all. He's been shopping there for yrs since he was with the Flyers and many of the people still there in management were there when he was first there. I think John got the hint from his wife though and now I hardly see her with him. See her once in a blue moon with him. I think Saw her last summer with him. I've seen John about 8 or so times since and none of those have been with her. I get giving these guys and family their space and I always do, usually won't initiate a convo unless they start it etc if they are with family. I'll say hi how are you or a similar greeting and move on. However she seems more annoyed when her husband initiates that communication.

As for Jason his wife is around my age, grew up in the area and I have friends who know her already. Her dad is my security camera guy and he's super friendly always has some story to share with me when he comes in or others he knows. Loves talking about the grandkids and has some funny Travis Kelce story. Jason's wife is just like her dad in some ways. I don't know if thats more she's familiar with the area and knows people but if she's with Jason she has no issue with people stopping to talk or anything. She's always thanking fans for their support of her husband and team, thanking people on her social media for the congratulations and well wishes for the babies being born, wedding etc. She goes all out.

Anyway just two different examples of famous people I've met and how their spouses act. I get personal space and all but when it's your own husband who starts the convo or goes out of his way don't give the resting #####face or act annoyed. These are the people who pay to go see your husband play and allow you to have the life style you live now. Not expecting you to drop at a moments notice for the fans but being more cordial to fans goes a long way. "Even a hey thanks for the support but we can't stop and talk or whatever" is sufficient enough. Just don't get the whole acting annoyed and being rude to fans in those circumstances.

To give one more example of Philly sports wives Jennifer Slay who's Darius' Wife does a cool ticket give away to all the home games for fans. Simple stuff and even has some cool signed Darius stuff from Jersey's, helmets etc. she gives away. Always will give tickets to people in the medical field as well. Matthew Stafford's wife does a lot similar and not sure if that is something the Lions org spouses started on their own but I've seen others from their org do it. Being kind goes along way.

He had my coworkers son Dino show him all around the city and check out all the best spots to eat and such. He even asked him suggestions on possible charities in the area he thought he should get involved in. Rodney's wife was also involved with a lot of the Eagles charity stuff.

This is a nice little nugget. The ESPN 2001 NFT Draft website is still active.
http://www.espn.com/nfldraft/2001/tracker/round?round=1

Even in 2001 we took the Peoples Champion a few spots ahead of Reggie Wayne. I know Wayne was seen as a raw talent but damn we've been consistent about picking the wrong WR's.
2001 draft was the third consecutive draft I attended in person. Yes I was there but not with those Cataldi fools who embarrassed Philly at the ‘99 McNabb draft. At the ‘01 draft, I had gotten to know Tony Pauline in the months leading up to the draft so he got me into the press section. For a time we were joined by Adam Caplan. Caplan had some crazy inside stuff, especially in regards to the Saints selection of Deuce Mccallister, just 2 years after trading their entire draft to pick Ricky Williams. Fun times.

I'm putting this here since it involves opponents but Brady retiring was apparently a farce according to PFT. Brady was suppose to hold out on TB and force a trade to MIA and Sean Payton somehow was going to become MIA's next coach. Then Brian Flores happened to the NFL where he talked about Owner Ross wanting him to recruit a player currently on another team a superstar. Turns out that player was suppose to be TB12 do to Flores connection with Brady being a former NE coach when Brady was there. TB12 and Bruce Arians weren't seeing eye to eye. When Flores throw water on this whole scheme with the NFL hiring stuff and MIA telling him to throw games etc it forced others involved in trying to make the future plan fall into pieces. Sean Payton ended up retiring and So did Brady. Not sure how much that factored into Arians possible retirement but I know in some personal circles there was talk about Arians wanting to retire at some point in the near future. When Todd Bowles was hired he was always going to be Arians successor and why Bowles took the TB job under Arians.

Either way interesting scenario in the NFL. It sounds like NO was loosing Payton no matter what though. If this is true I don't know if people realize how impactful what Flores is doing right now has probably threw a wrench in multiple teams plans etc.

We also missed on Warren Sapp a few yrs before that.

One guy I hope we don't draft is Drake London. He looks like a slightly better JJAW and guys who are good contested catches guys and media hyped who aren't known for much else don't usually translate to the NFL level too well.

We don't play Tampa.  Or Miami.

I'm getting curious to see what happens with Baker Mayfield. With the draft so close teams may sit and wait to see what happens. I have no doubt Baker gets traded at some point during or after the draft.

Honestly I would love to see an open camp between Jalen, Baker and Gardner.

Another QB who needs to be traded is Jimmy G. I wouldn't mind Baker depending on Price though. he's signed only through this next season so maybe on price he can prove if he's worth an extension. If he does well enough. However Idon't see Hurts being on the roster if Baker is here Eagles don't want a Hurts/Wentz situation again so Jalen would be traded. I keep saying this but any trade where we get a QB who will start Hurts will be involved in that or another deal

Yuck no thanks. Baker already is a locker room killer on his own. Bring him here to compete w Jalen, won't go over well.

Eagles throwing the Smoke Screen everywhere. Being reported that some in EAGLES FO ARE VERY HIGH ON SAM HOWELL.

For ####s and Giggles lets talk a bit of turkey here. I do like Howell as a QB. He's surprinsgly athletic for his size and would prefer him way more then Malik Willis who I wouldn't touch with a 1OO FT Pole.

However I don't think the Eagles are that enamored with any of this yrs QBs to pick and replace with Hurts. It looks like they are more intrigued by next years Class or so Ive been figuring out talking to people. This seems like another smoke screen in case Howie wants to accumulate more picks either this or next year. This is great strategy and keeps people guessing what the Eagles will do.

I should also point out Just because a player visits the Eagles or any other team doesn't mean that team will pick that player. Cowboys are different as Jerry Jones doesn't travel so usually the prospects he brings in and. meets they usually draft. These visits are to either meet with guys they hadn't been able to already or finish up stuff on a scouting report. If the player isn't drafted the data is still used and goes in the pro database for future use either to potentially acquire the player in trade or FA or use when playing against them.

If they want Howell they better trade back because no one is taking him in the top 20.

Please don't draft a qb Eagles!   They all suck!

:homer:  They suck so far...

@DJackson10 I was wondering if the Eagles were going to have any draft shenanigans this year.

The more I think about it the safest place for us to be right now is All-In on Hurts.

They said the same thing about the Mahomes/Allen draft and 2 of those guys are top 5 in the NFL right now

Yep Keyword. Media and fans get infatuated with certain prospects or "X" prospect isn't gonna be anything and In the end they all have egg on their face. I could bring up multiple scouting reports by "experts" that said Mahomes and Allen weren't anything special. And when I say Experts in quotes I mean draft analysis and media pudents. This isn't to say we have some pro bowls in this draft though either.

Then you got the Russell/Quinn/Kolb/etc draft who the experts were swinging off the nut sacks of Russel and Quinn both were major busts Russel was out of the league after 4 yrs.

Yep the Eagles are always going to pull some stuff. Its why when I heard the Willis rumors I was just rolling my eyes.

Sounds like Honey Badger is going to the Eagles. Will most likely ring bell at 76ers Playoff Game 2. Eagles didn't want to announce it with the 76ers playoff game and Easter Holiday.

Update a few details need to be apparently ironed out. Honey Badger tweeted something about being a man of finer details and he's posting with a lot of green heart emoji's on his twitter.

49ers prob have 20 teams throwing deals at them

I'd seriously give up the later of the 2 first and another pick and throw Reagor in for free to get Deebo if I knew I could extend him. He's worth it. If Nick can use him similar to SF did and then we upgrade at QB next year this offense could get very scary depending what happens at QB and RB

I would give something good for him to.  The thing is a bunch of teams would.   Sf might as well get the best deal they can.  Sounds like he really wants out

Schedule release is 5/12. The international games will be announced by 5/4, including the Cardinal's "home" game in Mexico. Eagles play @ARI and Lurie said recently the team "wouldn't mind playing" that game in MX  :oldunsure:

Would be just my luck haha, I really want to drive out to see that game in PHX if it happens.

I saw something on Facebook Either Vegas or SF player on talking about Mexico and speculation was it was the Cards game

Lurie dienst mind the international exposure for the Eagles as long as it doesn't take a home game from him

Would be mine too. One of my best friends teaches in ARZ in the area and just bought her first house. Been meaning to visit her out there for awhile. Was going to go in the summer with a few of my other friends and then the pandemic hit. We're waiting for the schedule to come out to see when this game ends up being.

My one cousin would take the trip to ARZ for the Phillies series when he lived in SF and then SEA. As well as doing most of the west coast trip for the Phillies. Would take vacation time during that span since he had a ton of it accumulated. Always seemed like a fun trip too. He just recently moved back home with his now wife and had twins though so those days are gone now.

Anytime you can spend a 2nd rounder on a 3rd string blocking TE, you can't pass that up.

I always like your titles but I think you missed a chance to brag about JJAW being more versatile and using the actual word in there. Just a thought. Still good though
