Carolina take the QB Tenn should have.
I’m not worried about him being an inch or two shorter than other LBers. He’s a baller and a perfect fit for this scheme.@DanGrazianoESPN
Main reason Nakobe Dean dropped is due to concerns he's undersized, but sources told me he's also had some medical issues come up in draft process, including a pec injury. Teams aren't concerned about long-term health, but that plus concerns about his size helped cause his slide.
NE with 3 picks in the mid to late 4th and 3 in the 6th. Quantity. Bill must know something.

Think he wants Reagor and is getting enough ammo to get him!NE with 3 picks in the mid to late 4th and 3 in the 6th. Quantity. Bill must know something.
He's way ahead of the game... he already started drafting 4th rounders in the 1st.NE with 3 picks in the mid to late 4th and 3 in the 6th. Quantity. Bill must know something.
Feels good to be an Eagles fan the last couple days.![]()
Think Zamir White makes it to 154?
Sanders is in the final year of his deal and the 3rd option is Boston Scott. I think he could make a nice combo with Gainwell if/when the other two leave.Yes. Personally I think he could be the best RB in the draft. Hard to tell in situation's like GA, but I think White is a good roll of the dice. Now as far as the Eagles are concerned, I thin it might be a luxary as I like their backs.
All true. But they would have egg on their face with a missed 3rd round pick, which I think is worth the risk.I can’t shake my “If it seems too good to be true…” gut on Dean. Very skeptical that the Eagles would know more than all 31 other teams/doctors and also find it weird Howie is so confident about Dean being healthy. No one would blink if he hedged expectations and wanted to be cautious with a potential blue chipper they used a 3rd rounder to take a chance on. They did it with Jones and Dickerson before. But he’s going out of his way to make clear there are no medical concerns or restrictions.
If this winds up being a case of hubris and/or blindly trusting a medical staff that finally had one decent year after years of missteps and negative player feedback, and Dean misses the season, it can still be a win if he comes back completely healthy next year and plays to expectations. But if there are related red flags they’re ignoring or dismissing (e.g. Dean doesn’t trust Western medicine and that’s why he didn’t have surgery, this injury potentially means chronic issues, etc.), then they’ll have egg on their face.
For sure, but it’s just odd to not even seeing it messaged that way. After that press conference last night, you would have thought we were able to steal no-risk guys like Devin Lloyd or Quay Walker in the 3rd.All true. But they would have egg on their face with a missed 3rd round pick, which I think is worth the risk.
Theres definitely something there that doesn’t add up. Reports all suggested he needed pec surgery and after watching his presser you’d think he was completely fine. For sure, but it’s just odd to not even seeing it messaged that way. Im not sure how much egg on their face there will be given where he was picked and the caliber of player many think we got. Now if we pick him in round 2 I’d agree more. Dean almost feels like a free pick in the 3rd to me.But if there are related red flags they’re ignoring or dismissing (e.g. Dean doesn’t trust Western medicine and that’s why he didn’t have surgery, this injury potentially means chronic issues, etc.), then they’ll have egg on their face.

Now even with that said, I’m ecstatic we got the player. The injury stuff will work itself out one way or the other
The biggest thing I got out of his presser is that he has a lot of poise. That had to have been the most gut-wrenching thing that ever occurred in his life: being invited to the Draft as a lock to be a first round draft pick, sitting in the green room and watching all the way until pick 83. The embarassment, the disappointment, the potential $Millions. All that had to be weighing on him, and he managed to smile and say all the right things about being excited to be an Eagle. That's the kind of kid that knows how to take personal hurt and disappointment and turn into fuel to be a great player.

Something is really weird with his medicals. I heard some NFL Network pundit talking about him having a grade 3 pec strain, which would definitely warrant surgery. And, I've never heard of PRP being used for pectoral strains, either. Granted, I never worked in any kind of sports medicine clinic with high-end athletes, but even with knees and achilles, PRP has mixed results. I'm kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop. Would be weird if all 32 teams got bogus information.
And for the record, I love the pick even if he misses the entire season. He's doing PRP therapy instead of getting the surgery.
If/when he gets 100% healthy he is a perfect fit for the style of defense we ran last year.Dean looks like an immediate plug and play style of LB with our defense.
The addition of Jordan Davis, too, gives JG a lot of flexibility to run what I think he has really wanted to run since he's been here defensively. I'm excited to see what the D looks like this year, especially if we get some players in the secondary.If/when he gets 100% healthy he is a perfect fit for the style of defense we ran last year.
Not sure when Graham is back but we also have Reddick, Sweat, Hargrove and Cox on the line. Add in depth like Barnett and even the growth of Williams and the DL should be a lot betterThe addition of Jordan Davis, too, gives JG a lot of flexibility to run what I think he has really wanted to run since he's been here defensively. yeah good posting. Definitely agree that his poise stands out, and i have to say when he mentioned that his mom was wondering why he dropped and he had to try to explain it to her. i was multi-tasking, and heard that in the background and it definitely struck a chord. The biggest thing I got out of his presser is that he has a lot of poise. Ya for sure. If Howie had zero concerns about his health, why not take him in the 2nd!For sure, but it’s just odd to not even seeing it messaged that way. After that press conference last night, you would have thought we were able to steal no-risk guys like Devin Lloyd or Quay Walker in the 3rd.
Thanks for posting those videos. I saw the first one but couldn’t find it to share this AM. Very balanced review of Dean’s strengths and weaknesses.I liked this guys breakdown on Dean.

This video is a breakdown of the LB class. Dean was in tier 2 along with many other LBs.

The source is not my site or friend I just really like his breakdowns.
I definitely like where we drafted him though considering his injury risk. Dean looks like an immediate plug and play style of LB with our defense.
Fast. Special Teams ace. But 24 and still considered a project as an NFL player. Traded up to get him, when that profile seems more like a UDFA target, so they must really like him.Another LB.

Was just coming to post this. I think Howie is trolling us.Uh oh. Danny Watkins PTSD!
He retired from football in 2019 (due to concussions) and spent 2020 preparing to become a firefighter before transferring to SMU.
Calcaterra was in training to become a firefighter in Orange County, Calif. Looking at San Diego area as well to become a first responder. He did go on some medical calls no fires.
The 'let decent opposing QB's complete 85% of their passes' approach?If/when he gets 100% healthy he is a perfect fit for the style of defense we ran last year.
I’m expected improvements in year 2The 'let decent opposing QB's complete 85% of their passes' approach?
