2022 Philadelphia Eagles - Leave Gannon in Arizona and let’s run through the NFC again in 2023. (1 Viewer)

Killer thread title edit.
Says the guy who was beyond butthurt that eagles fans dared to post in the SF team thread instead of the game thread.
We get it. The Cinderella story turned into a pumpkin in South Philly. Take the beat down with some grace ffs
Getting hurt is turning into a pumpkin.

Lol.

You're not worth my time. You really fit the profile. Congrats
You guys never had a chance. Sorry. Take it back to your sad “maybe next year” team thread. Or the game thread.

Defenses win championships but have to think its a much closer game if SF had a QB and a guy who could throw. Our offense didn't do much until th game was out of reach with no Purdy and the offense had 3 drives 2 that had TDs that were result of Defensive mistakes and the 1st drive TD we got away with a non catch catch by Smith. Heck of an effort. Not sure why Hurts is running up 28-7 or so. Hassan Reddick was a sneaky great signing huge impact. I love that guy. hope Gannon stays forever. Up Yours Seth Joyner. Best DC for the Eagles since Jimmy Johnson.

Offense can't play like they did today in the SB. Also Kenny G is awesome and showing why we can let Sanders go in the offseason.

Also sounds like Brock Purdy got a UCL injury. Props to him for coming back in after Josh Johnson left. I have a similar issue and they are a ***** to deal with. 49er fans should be proud what that guy did just coming back in and sucking it up. Tightness, tingling, feel like your muscle is being pulled, enormous elbow pain. Its awful.

I sincerely hope you believe that. Better yet, I hope your team believes that going into the SB.

Cheers. Be proud.

I was pretty impressed that the 9ers were still fighting, ok some literally, when they were down multiple scores and didn't even have anyone who could throw the ball downfield. A lot of fight in that team and I wouldn't be surprised to see them back in the NFCC again next year.

Unlike the Giants’ coach who punted from midfield in the late 3rd/early 4th.

I still don't need the guy running we got running backs paid for that.

This offense functions best when he runs. He's not a pure pocket passer, but so what? What matters is scoring points. Yea, he's not going to have the career longevity of a Manning or Brees. Let's just enjoy it while we can then.

I think they win today if Jimmy G was QB honestly. We got some dumb luck a lot of things went our way. Not taking anything away but a lot went our way , penalties to keep drives alive, both QBs knocked out. We didn't take advantage of a few chances, etc. Very healthy on our part too.

You think Jimmy's elbow could have handled that hit any better?

Get the **** out of here. You've said some dumb things, but this is up there. SF played stupid, sloppy ball on defense and caused them to lose just as much as the lack of qb did. Even with Jimmy Garoppolo, they don't score 17 points.

Terrible take. Seriously. I respect your opinion but SF was not winning tonight with any of there qbs

I don’t agree with this. Not saying the Niners would have won but the game was close and competitive until the 4th string QB literally handed the Eagles a gift before the end of the first half. That completely changed the entire game and deflated the Niners D. They were balling up to that point.

I'd rather have career longevity then going to find a QB every 7 yrs. If your offense can't function without a QB running thats a problem In my NFL book not a good thing at all.

Yep that was my point. It was close till they had the 4th string guy in. Down hill after that. And when you think about it, really should've been 14-7 going into half. But yeah it was competitive. My one source told me at half time the offense needs to wake the **** up.

Just read through the game thread since I wanted to focus on the game and not here, and my god...next time someone claims Eagle fans complain about the refs too much they should look there and shut the F up. So glad I avoided it. Also funny how many were convinced Burrow would be next. Oops.

Thrilled it's KC. Andy and Kelce bowl, their podcast should be fun the next two weeks! Just hope Hurts' shoulder gets a little better and he has a better showing.

Wondering how PO'ed Wentz is right now sitting at home watching this.

And for some reason, the Empire State Building was lit green for the Eagles win for a few hours, causing NYers to have a meltdown.

Not sure how anyone can say that when we didn't see a game with their QBs. Short fields and mistakes put their defense in a spot where they had to take more chances to force a turnover or quick stop.
These things happen. Philly took advantage and they earned it. They deserve to be in the Super Bowl. I just think that crowing about how they couldn't have lost is more 20/20 hindsight than honest evaluation.

hah, that is funny. i do have to say, if the Eagles somehow lost this game i am sure there would have been plenty to be upset about, but i would have had a few posts in there about "wire-gate". that was a little strange the whole saga, and it was just ironic how all that came out of it was a mystery penalty against the Eagles. watching that replay, it was blatantly obvious the ball hit something (only could have been the wire) and the call is always a do-over.

thankfully, we were all spared that rant :)

Agree on all accounts except Wentz who has no heart and probably doesn’t care as he rides out his last couple paychecks in the NFL.

This is my vacation week, and will be in Raleigh for a convention. My favorite week of the year, and I'm absolutely torn about Sunday. I can leave a couple hours early Sunday to be home in time for kickoff, I can listen on Satellite radio on my drive home, or I can play music on my phone driving home and watch the game on delay.

All three options have drawbacks. Will have to steer clear of all internet/phone if I watch on delay, and I'm not confidant that's safe as an option
I don't know how people can watch games on delay. If it's happening, I need to know what's going on if it's even just checking the score on my phone. I just can't sit and watch a game like it's live when I know it's over and decided.

Speaking of Raleigh, I'll be down there next weekend (2/3-2/5) for a college visit to NC State for my son on Friday and the Krispy Kreme Challenge for the whole family on Saturday. Any suggestions for places to eat (other than doughnuts) or things to check out while we're there?
We were actually at the Durham convention center in downtown Durham. There's a Rise donuts a block frm there that's fantastic for take out breakfast sandwiches (the the blueberry biscuits are out of this world). Had a great meal at Viceroy too (Indian).

I DID watch the game on delay, but was briefly spoiled with the score just minutes from sitting down to watch (thanks son!)

I disagree...the defense was playing fantastic.

That said, it wouldn't have been a 24 point margin either.

Let's give the offense some credit for taking advatage of everything the SF Defense gave them (often via penalty/mistake). Leaning heavily on the run once they had a lead was a good idea. It was clear SF wasn't coming back once Johnson was hurt too, but Philly was already up 2 TDs at that point.

Was a little bizarre seeing the 49ers losing their cool though. Guess it had just been too long since they were in a real fight and losing.

Haven't been to the game thread. (I fell asleep soon after I finished watching it on delay)....but WTF did they have to complain about other then the no catch catch? SF drew a lot of prnalties, but seemed like they were all legit/well -earned. Especially on that one TD drive. Easy defensive holding call. Obvious roughing the kicker (no he was NOT pushed), blatant late hit on a QB OOB, blatant (if brief) facemask. SF defense imploded.

My first thought this morning is this Super Bowl will have a bittersweet feel to it. Definitely want the Eagles to win but the Chiefs are a worthy opponent and I can't be unhappy for Andy.

On the other hand, I like our chances in this one and see the Eagles scoring in that 30 range again. What the Chiefs do I have no idea at this point but they need to find some points.

Andy will put the game in Mahomes' hands and I feel like that plays into the strength of our defense. We all know Andy won't stay dedicated to the run.

i have liked to check in with opposing team podcasts and youtube shows when we are matched up against them to get a different point of view. i do have to say that the SF base though might be one of the worst. i hate casting a big net, because there are some quality one's, but the amount of griping about the refs/calls and the stating how unlucky they were with the Purdy injury is a little too nauseating for my hungover self.

speaking of the injury, if I am Purdy i am a little upset with some of my teammates this morning. listening to the Eagles' players after the game, it seems the 49ers playing stating how they were coming "violent" and "tough" struck a nerve. it seemed like the George Kittle one gave the Eagles defense a little extra chip on their shoulder going into this game the most.

you poke the bear..........
