2022 Philadelphia Eagles - Leave Gannon in Arizona and let’s run through the NFC again in 2023. (3 Viewers)

"I'm not trolling but I just thought I'd comment in your team thread that your team really isn't as good as you think.
K? Bye.
Boy you guys sure are sensitive!! LOL Eagles fans!!"
That’s not what happened. At all.

But even if it did? Wgaf?

It’s a fantasy football board. The title of the thread is Philly Eagles thread or whatever. So it’s a thread to discuss the Eagles, right?
Are you saying that only eagles fans and Fred-1 (who only posts good things about the team) are allowed to post in the thread?

People post bad things in the Cowboys thread about Dallas’ players, coaches, owners, fans etc and you know who throws a fit? No one. Not one ****ing Dallas fan. It doesn’t happen in any of the other teams thread on the board. Only happens in this thread.

If you say you don’t see the difference you are either blind or lying
I don’t know why you’re bringing me into this. I post objectively what I feel. In the game threads I’ve posted plenty times when I feel the Eagles were gifted. In those threads, I agree that many of the Eagles fans have green tinted glasses (with the exception of some (e.g. @renesauz , @ProstheticRGK , @Deamon ). No I don’t usually come into this thread posting a bunch of negative crap. The Eagles are not my team so why would I do that? Trust me - I do that plenty in the Steelers thread because that’s the team I care about. And why would I come in here and start posting negative things in a year when they’ve been dominant? What is there to be critical of? Why can’t you just admit that?

So we’re not allowed to discuss football in here unless it’s positive?

This is supposed to be a place where we can discuss football. We all grown men, we can admit bias. We often do. As Cowboys and I said, we both preface any and all criticism of an Eagles player, and we only do this because throughout the years these dudes have shown to be HYPER sensitive to other grown men that they don’t know personally.

I’ll make this thread a safe place for you guys since you can’t handle it.

Gh
Micah Parsons will be cheering for the Eagles on Super Bowl Sunday The Dallas Cowboys pass rusher believes in NFC East Supremacy and isn’t afraid to tell you about it.

Say what you will about Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons, and believe me I have, but he is a man who doesn’t care what the haters and losers think. After the Philadelphia Eagles punched their ticket to the Super Bowl by drilling the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, Parsons — a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania native — was singing the praises of Birds’ All-Pro offensive tackle Lane Johnson.

Parsons has had the Eagles on his mind a lot this season and has had plenty to say about them too, with not all of it being complimentary, but he told Johnson “Love you big bro!” and to “go win a bowl for our division!”

Love you big bro! Keep going! Not many like you! Definitely not playing like you healthy or with a torn groin! Go win a bowl for our division!
— Micah Parsons (@MicahhParsons11) January 29, 2023

When you combine Parsons’ comments with the Empire State Building being lit up in green on Sunday night, it would appear that we are just waiting on Daniel Snyder’s Washington Commanders to build some sort of statue of Jalen Hurts, that will invariably collapse and injure someone, to complete the NFC East Circle of Support.

Everyone had an opinion on Parsons’ vocal support of a division rival winning the Super Bowl, most of which was negative, but he does not really care what anyone thinks, saying “I have no Shame! The league is a brotherhood ! I’ll never pray down on another man success nor be ashamed to say I’m happy for my brothers success!”

You people are sick! You will sit in your own misery because of lack of accomplishments than root for others!! I have no Shame! The league is a brotherhood ! I’ll never pray down on another man success nor be ashamed to say I’m happy for my brothers success! https://t.co/eMwd2UgpZg
— Micah Parsons (@MicahhParsons11) February 1, 2023

As a long-time Hater of many, many things, I would find it difficult to cheer for the Cowboys even if they were playing against an invading army of space monsters for the fate of the planet, let alone in the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs. I find it gauche when Arkansas fans crow about the SEC winning national titles in football when they themselves haven’t won one since 1964 and I, as a Wisconsin alum, won’t cheer for other Big Ten teams in bowl games either, but Parsons is not confined by my narrow-mindedness apparently.

With Cowboys writers proclaiming the Eagles as the “modern standard” of success in the NFL are we entering a new, more convivial, era of NFC East football? If it results in Philadelphia’s rivals supporting them as they win Super Bowls I think I’m all for it.

This guy sounds like he's gonna be a lot of bark and no bite in a lot of big games during his career. Absolute ghost in the playoffs this year
Ghost? Son you really should try to watch more football. Although with your Hurts blinders on, there is no reason to ever believe you could see the greatness of Parsons, a Dallas Cowboy. Dude your schtick is so old. Go watch “rasslin”, no doubt it’s more your style.
Hurts is the real deal, as is Parsons- regardless of the color of their uniforms. 🤦🏻

It isn't just about the color of the uniforms, it's also about where Parsons went to college.

For what it's worth, I do think you're one of the Cowboys fans that does like to talk football in this thread. And I don't need a safe place - I'm not that invested in this

Your first post in this thread following the NFCCG was you listing the Eagles '22 opponents and saying it was a weak schedule. So yes, that's what happened. Otherwise, I don't care who posts here, I just made an observation. You do seem to post here more than in the Cowboys' thread but whatever.

And if you think the whining doesn't happen in other teams' threads, go check out the Niners thread. Just sayin'.
But he doesn't post bad things about the Eagles in here, he doesn't even talk football. It's trolling when 99% of your posts are talking about Eagles' fans. There's no dancing around that.
Which % of your posts in the last 3 months or so have been about @DJackson10 and nothing else ?

whew this thread has fallen off the rails this week. Glad it is the Super Bowl in 8 days and we can get back to the football talk :football:.

looking at some of the specific match-ups, there are some fun one's. i do think as opposed to the SF match-up, the Eagles have advantages in most outside of covering the TE and RB screens.

Not even close to that. But that was a predictable response from you. Again, you haven't talked about football at all in here and continue to obsess about our fans, and then tell us we are obsessed about your team. It's actually insane if you believe you're not trolling.

Because admitting that would involve watching/discussing football.

Let's cleanse the palate of this thread, please. We can all agree Joe is the biggest Eagles hater and seeing this thread turn to a mash of flaming drivel will give him the ammo needed to start giving timeouts to everyone like cars at an Oprah show.

Anyone going to the game?
I'm keeping tabs on ticket prices. Have a travel plan if they get in a more reasonable range. If I would have been selected in the season ticket member lottery and got them at face, it would have been a no-brainer. But secondary prices are double what they were in 2018 when I went and our extended family is doing our first Hawai'i vacation this summer, so trying to be responsible with the discretionary funds :lmao:

Thought about it, but prices are astronomical. With the golf tourney there that weekend too, hotels are about 6X regular price, and cheapest pair of game tickets are 6k a seat.
My brother went to the Steelers/Seahawks Super Bowl and paid $2000 for the worst seats in the stadium. It helped that he happened to live in Detroit at the time so didn’t have to worry about lodging. I’m not surprised that prices have tripled since then.

Ya I was all set to go in '18 when they were reasonable but had just arrived in NZ so wasn't feasible. It's crazy that sb seats have doubled since a few yrs back.

2000 isn't bad at all but I guess that's in Detroit and a long time ago. All the stars aligned for this to be an expensive one to go to. Blew my football fund on going to the nfcc instead.

Right, it was about $2700 in 2018 for my upper level end zone corner seat in MIN.
I went to the SB in Tampa for the Bucs - Chiefs game in Feb 2021, we paid $5500 per ticket in the 300 section, about on the 10 yard line.
Damn. Was this re-sale? How last minute?
Bought them the day they went on sale in April 2020 thru the official NFL site. Once the teams were determined (Brady vs Mahomes) the prices shot up to close to $9k for the same tickets, and I almost sold them for huge profit, but decided that this was gonna be the only SB I'd be able to go to (no travel or hotel involved since I live here)...about 24 hours later they stared coming back down fast and by Thursday or Friday before the game they were back down to around what I paid. I know a guy who got tickets the week of the game (secondary mkt of course) and he only paid about $500 more than I did per ticket.

ETA: I could have sold them and bought new tickets and been up almost $10k...but I didn't wanna chance not being able to get another 4 tickets together.

Interesting. I guess it was a good gamble when you were going to go anyways and then Tampa made it too.

I wonder if it's just inflation or the circumstance of the game. Can see Brady in Tampa being huge. Obviously a Phoenix weekend same weekend as the golf tourney is going to drive demand up massively too.

The game in Minnesota was probably reasonable because it's not as desirable of a location.

The one in Vegas next year is probably going to be the most expensive one ever.

When it was announced that the SB was gonna be in Tampa we decided we were gonna go. So we knew for a couple of years.

The price skyrocketing was a Brady plus Covid factor IMO - because of stadium Covid capacity rules, they only sold 22,000 tickets and had cardboard cutouts of fans in seats all over the stadium. It was weird but a lot of fun.

Pic of seats behind us with cutouts:

View from our seats (we were more in the end zone than I remember...but I was drinking all day lol)...notice how many cutouts are all over the stadium.

When I bought the tickets, the 49ers were fresh off a SB appearance and I was hoping they'd go back and Id get to see them in a SB, but that was the year their whole roster was on IR and they went 6-10.

A side story to that - in Feb 2020, 2 days before the 49ers - Chiefs SB in Miami, I seriously thought about going since Miami is only a 3 hour drive...I had 2 SB tickets in my cart and almost pulled the trigger until my wife talked me out of it since we were committed with friends to go to the one in Tampa the following year. In hindsight I'm glad I didn't go...I can't think of anything worse than witnessing my team lose a Super Bowl in person, it would ruin the entire experience.

I'm gonna say most of them even if I have him on ignore I still see his post when someone quotes him. He's obsessed with me these days. He acts like I pissed in his Cheerios stole his girl and then knocked her up and left him to take care of the baby. Like holy crap its bad. Just put him on ignore because he's literally crazing attention and trolling.

There are now 2 Eagles threads at the top of this page lol. You all pretty popular around these parts.
It is strange I can’t even find a chiefs thread close to the top of these pages.

Don't think they have as many fans on this board. Certain teams have less fans here then some others and then you got some surprises in how many fans certain teams have especially 1 or 2 of the teams who have been bad for yrs and still are. Also I think a lot of the posters ventured into the political thread over the years, got sent to Timeout and never came back. There's a few posters I use to see who use to talk football but then found out misbehaved in other parts of the forum and just never came back.

Anyone going to the game?

If I had the money I'd go. I could save on Hotel because my friend from HS she bought a house in Scottsdale and Half hour from the stadium. In some cool News SuperFan and Huge Carson fan Giovanni the podcaster who was the kid who got famous meeting Wentz had a gofundme to go and made the goal. He was able to go with his parents at least and some of the people who go to help take care of him. Zach Ertz went on his podcast 2 days ago and gifted him 2 tickets so his brother and Sister could go as well. So that's pretty cool.

My Grandpa went with my Uncle to the game in Jacksonville for Eagles/Patriots. His cousin had a home down there that was never used so they saved money on lodging. He won in the season ticket lottery I think too. He was on 6ABC to and got interviewed by whoever was doing coverage of Season ticket holders in line who won the lottery getting their TIX for the game. Brought me home a few souvenirs.

This thread has become hot garbage. Too much BS (and not all of it from Wingnut and CBfan)

To be quite honest, anyone who can't see/admit that the truth of the Eagles schedule was somewhere in the middle is incapable of objectivity. It was NOT the easiest, but it was far from the hardest either, despite the Opponent wining %. Really was somewhere in the middle, average to slightly above. Can we move on to better things now? Like, how do we match up with KC?

On that front, I think fairly well overall, but Mahomes is as scary as Brady in his prime....the kind of QB that gives his team a good chance regardless of how the rest lines up. Not much better then a coin flip game I think. hard to imagine his ankle is going to be a huge factor, and that KC O-line is very good now....they aren't gonna get pushed around all the time. Philly is gonna get some pressure and a few sacks, but I fear it may not be consistant or often enough to stop Mahomes. Hopefully Jalen's shoulder isn't a huge factor either and his accuracy comes back to closer to what it was for most of the year. Could be a barn burner despite the good defenses

The bolded is where I'm constantly at with Hurts. Is he capable of being consistent throwing the football a whole game if he needs to in a shootout against someone like a Mahomes and a high power offense? I just think this is one of those games where if we are going to win the Defense is going to have to bail us out and hope Mahomes has one of those over 3OO yds 4 TDS but throws 2 or more picks and maybe loses a fumble. I'm confident that if it comes down to a FG at the end we got Elliot.

History might be repeating…

From Adam Schefter:

Eagles’ offensive coordinator Shane Steichen is interviewing today for the Indianapolis Colts’ head coaching job.

One source said the Colts might not name a head coach until later this week or even after the Super Bowl.
Its gonna be interesting if Steichen leaves what happens. I would think Brian Johnson becomes OC and they look for a new QB Coach

Since I'm tracking it, sharing some SB ticket info for those interested:
  • The "Get In Price" (least expensive ticket) has been holding steady at ~$5,800 since Monday.
  • The least expensive lower-level ticket has been steady, too, at ~$7k.
  • The overall average ticket price is down today from yesterday (~$9,600 to ~$9,450).
  • The most expensive single-ticket (~$35,000) is down from ~$41,000 yesterday.
  • For sale inventory is up from ~2,500 tickets available to ~2,600 since yesterday.
I'm monitoring TickPick, TicketIQ, On Location (NFL partner), and a local broker, and using the all-in prices (including fees.)

I do think the Eagles should go for a backup QB in the offseason that runs a similar style of offense to Hurts. Would be nice if (when?) he misses time to not have everyone change the scheme dramatically.

Probably need to draft one. Hendon Hooker might be decent and with the injury, his draft stock is probably more 3rd-4th round. I don't know if he'll ever be starter material again but as a guy with a great skill set, he'd be worth having sit and learn behind Jalen as the 3rd string. Would need to get another vet for next year though as the 2.

Anyone going to the game?
Went to SB 52. Was close to going to this one as well. After much discussion want to watch this one with my kids. Looking forward to it !!
52 was special for me because I got to see it with my wife, my Dad, and our two kids. Really the last time we all got together. Watching the Eagles finally get the Lombardi with them can't be matched. Now we're in different states, weddings, grandchild....This year I'm looking forward to just watching in my den with my wife and cheer for the Eagles.

One of my good friends that lives close to me here in South Florida is a Philly fan, he's from there.
In Feb '17 he watched Philadelphia win the Super Bowl while he was in Canada on a ski trip that spans several weeks and ends up back in the States
He is going back to Canada for the Super Bowl hoping history repeats and he celebrates in the same spot as last time.

I don't think it truly makes a difference where he watches it but it can't hurt that he's going back to where he feels magic happened last time.
Looking forward to a terrific build up this week
Good Luck Eagles Fans
