I hear there's a football game on tomorrow, so here's some random thoughts and hopes on what fells like is the longest day of the year today.
Offense: Expecting AJ Brown to go off and potentially get MVP. He's due, he has a history of playing big in playoff games in Tenn, and was top in the league this year against press coverage, which KC uses a lot. Brown goes off in the first half, start the second with a lead and the line pummels the defense and they grind out a boring win.
Defense: The hope is the line feasts and makes Mahomes night a living hell while the secondary plays tight and challenges any quick throws. The fear is Gannon reverts back to playing super soft coverage fearing Mahomes, and he dink and dunks them all night. I know I'm in the minority here with that fear, but they faced so few legit QBs this year. This is the game that will finally make me a believer in him (or my fears come true and I hate him forever).
Nice segue to the strength of schedule. WGAF? I don't care if they played every game against Sister Mary's School of the Blind, as long as they win. The '72 Dolphins still get talked about and their schedule was Charmin soft. For those still hung up on this, you should come up with a formula that takes into account how they did against them. What I mean is, if you played an "easy" schedule and barely won your games (like the Vikings) then that's a red flag. But if you smashed most of your opponents (like the Eagles) then they did what they should. Why penalize a team for that?
That NFCCG really broke some fans. One in particular. I almost feel sorry for them. I tend to have my team blinders on at times, but jebus.
@ChiefD, you're good people. Really appreciate your postings leading up to the game. I still hope you're sad and disappointed tomorrow night, though. It's almost as if the issues with other fanbases isn't because of the Eagles fans like we've been led to believe. Hmmm.
Speaking of, for the love of god Eagles fans, stop taking the stinky bait and feeding the trolls. Ignore them and they'll hopefully get bored and go away. I miss the football discussions that used to go on here.
Fun fact, the last time Philly played KC for a championship it ended pretty well with McGraw striking out Wilson for the first Phillies World Series win.
Grease the poles and Go Birds!
