lots of love in the media here in brewtown for the idea of getting lillard but i just dont know if the bucks will ever want to get rid of holiday and i think that would have to be included in the deal id be ok with giving up middleton as he is hurt all the time anyhow and picks i dont know if that is worth a lillard though take that to the bank bromigos
Don't the Bucks basically have just a single 2029 first round pick available?

Either Jrue Holiday or Giannis (obviously he wouldn't be included) would have to be involved as they can't trade Lopez or Middleton as they are newly signed and the rest of the roster combined isn't enough salary to match Lillard.

So the very very best they could offer in a trade is a secondary pick swaps in 24, 26, 28 (New Orleans owns their pick swaps), a single first round pick, Holiday, and Beauchamp. In rerouting Holiday to a third team what is the best they could do for the Blazers?
holy smokes kevhan i am not going to lie i am not a cap guy and dont know the trade rules even a little bit so i bet you are correct as you always know your stuff around here and that kills my dream of having the anteater and the lizard all on one team take that to the bank brochacho

They are over the second apron for 23-24 so they can't combine salries to take back a higher paid player IIRC

Sounding like a 3-team Deal with Lillard going to Miami, Ayton going to Portland, and Nurk going to Phoenix (along with other players and picks) is gonna be announced tomorrow.

I don't know a lot about Ayton other than he was a first overall pick and everybody seems to hate his game.
he's not physical and doesn't draw any fouls. He can shoot ok from mid-range. He's a good roller and has good touch and plays decent defense, but he is not elite at anything really and the value he provides ultimately isn't that much higher than a number of other centers that could be had cheaper. Definitely would be an upgrade for Portland over Nurkic at this point, if there is actually any truth to this rumor.

Depending on draft compensation, I actually kind of like Ayton on the Blazers. If they can manage not to take any real salary beyond Ayton in the deal, it'll give them a lot of salary flexibility in the future.

Nurkic is such a big downgrade from Ayton. Don't like that move at all, but I assume PHO would try and pick up another rotation wing or something?

In an appearance on NBA Today, Marc Spears said that “the hottest name that I’m hearing right now of interest is the Toronto Raptors,” when discussing a potential Damian Lillard trade.

There have been so many rumors surrounding Dame for the past few months, but after Yahoo’s Jake Fischer reported that the Raptors could end up landing Lillard, Spears seems to be hearing the same thing. Lillard would be quite the replacement for Fred VanVleet, though the Raptors would likely have to part with some of their young talent and draft picks. Still, Dame, Pascal Siakam and O.G. Anunoby would be a formidable squad in the East. Spears also reported that multiple NBA GMs expect Dame to be out of Portland by media day, which is next week.

Portland is refusing to talk to Miami,” said Haynes. “Miami understands that they don’t have the assets. But they want to know, ‘Hey Portland, we’ll involve a third or fourth team but communicate with us and let us know what you are looking for.’ It hasn’t gotten to that stage.”

A possible reason why the Celtics are favored to acquire Lillard may stem from concerns surrounding Malcolm Brogdon. The reigning Sixth Man of the Year is reportedly upset with the way that Boston’s management is handling his elbow injury.

It is all just noise right now.

Sorry the name got cut off during my cut and paste.
I believe it was Chris Brussaard that reported it.

They are?

I think it all noise right now to force Miami to bring in another team. I don't believe the Bulls, Celtics, Raptors etc have much of a chance.
Bobby Marks laid a scenario on NBA Today to show how a three teamer could work.

Celtics get - Lillard
Suns get - Brogdon, R Williams
Blazers get - Ayton, a handful of cheap Celtics throw ins for salary purposes (like Kornet, Hauser, maybe Pritchard), and some Celtics picks

Has to be done before 10/23 when roster sizes shrink to 15.

Would be so gross if Dame goes to Boston.

Totally, but it would be great to see it fail and then they have to pay 4 guys more than $250m per year going forward.

AYTON SUCKS
HE IS A 7 FOOT CENTER WHO PLAYS LIKE HE IS 6'4"
WHY WOULD PHOENIX WANT AYTON!!!111
WHY WOULD ANYBODY WANT AYTON!!!

Portland will be thrilled to trade their greatest player of all time for Ayton!

The word of the day is "incongruous".

The ESPN Trade Machine OKed the trade with the three BOS throw-ins included to POR. It predicted BOS +7 wins, PHO -1 win, and POR -6 wins for this year.

I can’t picture the C’s getting Lillard for that price…and why would the Blazers want to do this, they gotta do better than this…C’s have a ton of picks (many are 2’s) but none of them project to be high ones so you probably won’t even sniff the lottery.

Because we are a bunch of unsophisticated hillbillies out here who don't know any better, duh.

Lillard goes Milwaukee as part of a 3-team deal with Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, a 2029 unprotected MIL 1st, and unprotected MIL swap rights in 2028 and 2030 to Blazers. Phoenix lands Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little and Keon Johnson.
