I mean did nix make more playing for Oregon than be will as like a 6th rounder?
Well since he won't be a 6th rounder... He likely would have been a later pick and possibly made more this year by staying in school and as a possible 1st round pick next year.

I don't really follow draft stuff at all. Sort of shocked to think he is 1st round. Seemed pretty meh every game I saw all the way back to Auburn. Can't imagine him as starter in the NFL even with the bar of elite to get over being Dak ****ing Prescotr
Yeah, Nix may go rd 1, but he's not a rd 1 talent. One of those types that if he's special neck-up (I have doubts) then he can be league average, but if he's anything I think he's a backup. Can't win only going horizontal in the pros.
I thought I read the consensus on Nix after yesterday was late Day 2 at best.
I think Nix has a better chance of going round 4 than he does round 1.

It’s crazy Texas could either win the national title or be playing in the Cotton Bowl against somebody like Missouri.

Texas wins they should be in. Unless Bama wins and they put both Bama and UG in. FSU migh throws a wrench into everything. Can they leave out FSU if they win?

Texas vs FSU? I like Texas.

PFF's big board has him QB3 ahead of Daniels and Penix (and others), and ranked 17th overall.
I sure like him better than the comments here. Arm talent is there. Athleticism is there. I won't be surprised it he's a solid NFL starter at some point.

Texas lost to a mediocre OU team in the weakest conference this year. They aren't jumping an undefeated FSU team just because they beat Bama.

I really like Nix and think he was a huge part of Oregon's success the last two years, but I do not see a productive NFL QB here. A backup who sticks around for 10+ years? Absolutely. And that's a hell of a career if he can get it. I mean, the guy was sacked 5 times all year. What's he going to do when he suits up and plays for a team that gets him sacked 5 times in a game?

His 5 incompletions to start the game really put Oregon in a hole. Kudos for leading them back but that INT right after their defense finally made a big play was awful.

They are if Bama beats Georgia.

Probably not.

It’s incredible that Gundy got this team to the Big 12 title game, talent-wise it’s the weakest team they’ve had in awhile. I can’t believe OU lost Bedlam
Super believable.

I can't believe we blew it at Kansas. Bedlam as the only loss and another win over TX and we'd be in the discussion.

How long of a leash does gundy have in the small 12? Seems forever since they were really a threat.
10-2 and 9-3 seasons is probably the best that place could hope for. Didn’t they almost make the playoff two years ago? That’s a miracle there.

When you look back at the tail end of the big12 where Texas was down and OU wasn't just dominating Baylor and TCU took advantage. I guess he has plot armor at this point.

CBS and DTV just went black with certain regional providers…someone may get hurt over this, no joke (not by me).

Miami on the verge of winning the MAC and a return trip to Detroit.
Toledo gets a bowl game in a better location. Winning by losing.

The message board types were out for his head after the South Alabama game, but I think it’s still really really long. It’s Oklahoma State - what exactly are your expectations in terms of them being a threat? Gundy’s tenure is the best they’ve ever been in any of our lifetimes by a long shot

Gundy is the best case scenario for a school like OSU. Favorite son so he’s not interested in other jobs. Recruiting is tough there but he’s shown time and time again he can develop players. He does a really good job of identifying great coordinators and letting them do their thing. The alternative for them is to take a chance on the Lebby types and if they end up being a solid coach they bolt for a bigger school. The OSU fans I know adore Gundy.

Living in the Austin area and married to a Longhorn fan, I can say the most Texas thing ever would be for them to win their conference, have a legit shot at making the top 4, and yet somehow finishing one spot out the year before playoffs expand by 8 teams.

I like CBS’ sad intro before the title game because they are losing the SEC but they could have just bid more to keep the rights? The conference gave them a sweetheart deal for 20 years and then CBS ran when it got more expensive.

For some reason, I thought it got more expensive going with the B1G. They were giving more games or something? Could be completely wrong about that.

Best thing for the CFP is for UGA, Mich, and FSU to win today. 4 unbeaten teams in the playoffs. Fairly simple. This gets enormously complex if both UGA and FSU lose (I assume Mich wins easily).

If only FSU loses it's still simple. UT or OSU gets in.

If only UGA loses ... now that is complex. Because UGA is worlds better than FSU. So they have to put ALA and UGA in ... IMO.

Toledo gets the Bahamas Bowl in Charlotte with the loss right?
Bahamas Bowl in Charlotte? That's some serious false advertising. It's like asking your girlfriend if she would like to go with you to an all expenses paid week at the Royal Sands Cancun and it turns out to be the Royal Sands Cancun's Pittsburgh satellite location.

FSU has a QB problem

Yes, but if they are undefeated you can't punish the entire team IMO. They win they are in. There's more to a team than a QB. I think they win today despite the frosh QB.

I think UGA is a nasty team. They are really really good and almost seem bored playing mid-tier teams. When it matters, they are gonna rock for the 3rd stright year

I'm really hoping for a Bama/FSU win and the possibility of not including an SEC team in the playoff. That would be hilarious.

Not sure if I have this order correct but they went cheap on SEC and then when they realized they needed something to show, they had to pay more to broadcast Iowa vs Michigan State every week. They have either the second or third BIG game to select from. I guess adding the 4 Pac teams gives them some better inventory to choose from.

I have a really hard time with Bama getting in over Texas in any scenario. Just blows my mind.

Can't wait til next year. Would way rather have these arguments about OU, Oregon, Iowa, etc than be like "yeah let's leave a conference champion who beat the other conference champion and who has same number of losses out"

Charlotte > Detroit
Hah, I'm just excited to have a bonus bowl here. Already took the day off.
Oh my god it’s at the UNCC stadium, not even the panthers stadium?

Just seeing there’s a Myrtle beach bowl. I might have gone to that if I wasn’t going out of town.

One thing is for sure, college refs are better than NFL refs. Perhaps the game is slower. Perhaps it's the better booth review process. The NFL should concede this is the case and change some things. Love how fast they corrected the TD ruled OB in the WAS/ORE game last night. And some things today. Very smooth process.
