ACC bound SMU. What a world we live in.SMU are conference champions for the first time since 1984. That’s pre-Death Penalty. I was a sophomore in college.
If Michigan wins fairly convincingly, I can't see them not getting the first seed. If they squeak by, Washington might jump them.IMO
Washington
Michigan (Iowa can’t score)
Texas
If Florida State wins they’re in. If they lose Bama in.
There's nothing like the first time!Great now we have to hear Gus treat an Iowa first down like a kid seeing boobs for the first time
No, I’m saying the 2 best remaining teams are Michigan and Alabama and that’s a heavyweight semifinal and the other game is notHow? You think there is a way for Michigan to win and miss the playoffs? Even if you can make a logical argument for it, it's Michigan. That's not happening.Bama winning really hurts Michigan, unless the committee puts Texas at 4. FSU deserves to be in with a win, but everyone knows Bama is making it in over FSU
The Jared Lorenzen QB tree...Iowa’s QB looks like an OL
Switch to the UFc Fight night Much more entertaining and zero Gus. Win winI want to turn the volume down so I don't have to here Gus, but I don't want to watch Iowa on offense. Quite the condrum I am facing.
It seems like a big mess. People love throwing around the term best team vs most deserving team. As a competitor, I'm in the camp of it's the most deserving team. FSU goes 12-0, wins a major conference, even scheduled and beat LSU to start the year. I think it's terrible for a system to be set up where they are left out.I don’t see a way FSU gets in. Even if they win by 50 tonight. That UGA loss was the worst thing that could’ve happened to them. UGA wins, FSU wins, Mich wins, it would’ve been an easy choice. 4 undefeated teams, no discussion. Now, I see chaos and a lot of upset people. I honestly think UGA still gets in. They would be favored in any game at a neutral site against any team in the nation. Hard to leave them out.
Georgia is out unless fsu and UM lose tonight.I don’t see a way FSU gets in. Agree it’s a big mess. If you really want to get crazy, Ohio State should probably be the most deserving one-loss team. Only loss coming to the eventual number one in their house. With a fairly difficult schedule too.It seems like a big mess. People love throwing around the term best team vs most deserving team. As a competitor, I'm in the camp of it's the most deserving team. Disagree. Have to draw a line in the sand. If FSU isn’t even considered, then deserving goes out the window and now you’re at best teams. Again, UGA would be favored over any team in the nation.Georgia is out unless fsu and UM lose tonight.I don’t see a way FSU gets in. Even if they win by 50 tonight. I think UGA is in. Perhaps even over Alabama. But definitely over FSU, 2 time defensing champs. only loss is by 3 to an ALA team that is playing great right now. OSU = no shot Nobody cares about the B10. Two good teams and a ton of chumps.Georgia is out unless fsu and UM lose tonight.I don’t see a way FSU gets in. Even if they win by 50 tonight. Oregon was favored by 10 last night. Georgia was favored today. Who cares?Disagree. Have to draw a line in the sand. I think the rankings will be:I think UGA is in. Perhaps even over Alabama. But definitely over FSU, 2 time defensing champs. only loss is by 3 to an ALA team that is playing great right now. There’s zero chance that happens.
Let’s not forget, TCU lost its conference championship game last year and still got in. How isn’t that an option for the best team in the country the past 3 seasons?
I don't recall exactly but I am going to assume there were less undefeated conference winners last season?Let’s not forget, TCU lost its conference championship game last year and still got in. How isn’t that an option for the best team in the country the past 3 seasons?
Losing this late does hurt. Guess we will see what the committee does.Let’s not forget, TCU lost its conference championship game last year and still got in. How isn’t that an option for the best team in the country the past 3 seasons?
Georgia’s problem is losing late like this. They really have to have upsets in both these games to get in, IMO. I do think Bama goes over an undefeated FSU but I don’t think Georgia does.
Was definitely a different picture last year. I just have a strange feeling UGA gets in.I don't recall exactly but I am going to assume there were less undefeated conference winners last season?Let’s not forget, TCU lost its conference championship game last year and still got in. AbsolutelyGot to have an SEC team in the playoff
Even when it's the worst SEC field in years?AbsolutelyGot to have an SEC team in the playoff
Have to have a team from the SEC in it. Regardless of how bad it’s been this year compared to other years, I don’t see any of these teams beating Bama or UGA. Maybe Texas.Even when it's the worst SEC field in years?AbsolutelyGot to have an SEC team in the playoff
ThisAssuming Michigan wins
If FSU wins:
Michigan
Washington
FSU
I think Texas?
FSU loses
Michigan
Wash
Texas
Bama
Imo
So if we have 3 undefeated conference winners and a conference winner who went to Alabama and beat them, we should still put Alabama in? That makes no sense to me.Have to have a team from the SEC in it. Regardless of how bad it’s been this year compared to other years, I don’t see any of these teams beating Bama or UGA. A game for the ages7 punts in the 1st Q of Louisville-FSU
7 punts in the 1st Q of Louisville-FSU
That same conference winner that beat Alabama has by far the worst loss out of the one-loss teams. So when you compare losses, losing to a two-loss Oklahoma team isn’t the best look imo. Really have to pick your poison when arguing this.So if we have 3 undefeated conference winners and a conference winner who went to Alabama and beat them, we should still put Alabama in? Doesn't that make Alabama's loss to Texas look even worse? They lost to the team with the worst loss! That same conference winner that beat Alabama has by far the worst loss out of the one-loss teams. Yeah. Glad we are expanding next year. This year reminds me of the 70s/80s with the stupid bowl affiliations preventing the best teams from playing.Even when it's the worst SEC field in years?AbsolutelyGot to have an SEC team in the playoff
