2023 Las Vegas Raiders - RIP Jack - one of the greatest Super Bowl moments ever (3 Viewers)

They really need to finish the year with a worse record than washington. That gives them a shot at the #3 qb or the BPA. But it’s the raiders so they’d take an injured safety instead.

the needs are qb, interior dl, man that Carter miss hurts. OL. RB because jj is gone. Wr, I hope they trade Adams. can they get 2 seconds? And the team needs to get faster across the board.

Just a gut feeling but I think Adams, Jacobs and for sure Renfrow won’t be back next season. And Zamir White is not the heir apparent to JJ, so I see a lot of shaking up of the skill positions in 2024. Not to mention the obvious need at QB. Good news if Graham stays the defense won’t be as huge a need as it has been in recent years, although Dline and CB depth are still lacking. I see it this way:
1. QB
2. Interior OL
3. RB if JJ leaves
4. WR if Adams and Renfrow move on
5. DB
That’s not a gut feeling. That’s a great plan for the offseason.

Raiders should take anything offered for Adams.
False. Adams isn't old at all and this is not a complete tear down. You don't think Adams would be stoked to be in Houston right now? We have a legit D and weapons on O. We're hanging in games we shouldn't be in and losing them because of the QB. If we get a solid upgrade there and some better OL play we can be a playoff contender on day one.

I'd be ok with moving Adams for a fair price, but "taking anything" is laughable.

The good news is this draft is extremely deep at the WR position. QB is also deeper than normal. Of course, we still need to see who decides to stay in school for the NIL money.

Agree! I would also add an upgrade at center is needed as well. I have the priorities as:
1. QB Upgrade
2. Shut down CB
3. Upgrade at guard/center

I do not see Adams wanting to stick around for a rebuild. The Jets seem to be all in on Rodgers so they are a likely suitor.
How would the community feel about Adams straight up for Sauce Gardner?

Adding Gardner would be great, but I'm not sold the Jets ship him off, even for Adams.

The jets would never do that

A couple of gifts last night with huge upsets by teams that were below us in the draft order. We're currently tracked to draft #6. Won't be able to get down to Wlliams/Maye but a great chance for first choice after those guys.

Just my opinion, I watch a lot of PAC-12(2) games and I’m not sold on Caleb Williams. At one point late in the season he led the FBS in turnovers and TDs, very Jameis Winston-like stats that would scare me if I were a GM. And the guy is already rich beyond his dreams, how’s his motivation? I’d be curious to see how much he really cares about winning.
I haven’t seen enough of Maye to form an opinion yet. But the QB I like, and who should be there at or around #6 is Michael Penix. He’s not the biggest guy but he’s got a cannon for an arm and has enough mobility to extend plays. I’d be stoked if he became a Raider.
I think the chances are Caleb still goes #1 or #2 at the lowest if something gets shaken up, We are not going to be in the running for that unless we trade our next couple of drafts to move up. There are some QB's coming out that have tons of potential. We should be in the mix for one of them.

Plenty of good alternatives to Caleb, especially considering the personality red flags he's displayed.
personality red flags?

Good lord the defense has been so bad for so many years that some of you think that the D is legit, there's a reason it looks better than in the past and it has to do with Josh Dobbs, Zach Wilson, Tommy Devito and Mac Jones.

1. QB
2. LB
3. CB
4. LB/DL
5. OL

The Athletic’s Vic Tafur believes it’s “very likely” Aidan O’Connell will be benched for Jimmy Garoppolo if he plays poorly in Week 15.
Another bad outing for O’Connell — who last week against the Vikings threw for 171 scoreless yards and a pick — could land Garoppolo the starting gig for Vegas’ Week 16 game against Kansas City. The statuesque O’Connell has been abysmal over the past few weeks. Only Bryce Young has a lower drop back success rate than O’Connell since Week 11, and only five quarterbacks have a worse completion rate over expected over that stretch. The injury-plagued Jimmy G would somehow be a boon for Davante Adams if he finds his way back under center.

Jimmy Garoppolo has a passer rating of 78.1 with 1,205 yards, 7 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in 8 games with Davante Adams in his career.

Which means either by sucking or injury, O'Connell will be playing again by halftime.

I cannot think of one good reason to sit AOC for Jimmy G. LV needs to see what they have in the rookie and get him experience. He is probably not a starting QB but he could be a backup. This team is run by morons.

AP wants the job. The more he wins, the better his chance is to get the job. With O'Connell struggling, I understand being open to going another direction. Unfortunately, that other direction is a QB we know sucks and the only other QB on the roster is an anciently sucking QB. But the 'good reason' is AP trying to win the job. If he doesn't win the job, he doesn't care about O'Connell getting experience and adding to the game tap evaluation of him because he won't be around to care about it. It is the same thing that I hate about the 'team is tanking' thing... coaches and players are in it for their own careers and not for the team overall success. If a team wants to tank, you trade all you good players away and pile up draft picks. Let the coaches figure it out from there.

I ve seen enough. shooter is mediocre. However, another reason to not start the dreamboat is injury clauses in his contract. Sound familiar?

Sitting where I am now I am convinced Jimmy G doesn't give them a better chance of winning but if I was trying to win the HC job... I might be more open to playing the veteran if the rookie was struggling. I don't think it would be the right decision but just saying.... I understand a HC in AP's situation looking for any way to get wins now and not worried about how it plans out tomorrow.

They aren’t beating anyone with AOC or Jimmy especially if they don’t get Kolton and/or Jacobs back. They at least have to pretend they can run the ball.

I think you hit on it.... without Miller, AOC is likely going to struggle. He needs protection to be effective. Jimmy G is going to suck with or without protection. Unless someone can turn his 5 yard passes into real gains, there is no hope with him under center. Absolute trash.

No hate. He just isn't a good QB. Never really was. It was very evident. I never wanted him on the team and it was a horrible mistake to get him. He brings no value to us. And with his predisposition to injury and the injury clause that is apparently in his contract (what moron GM would give Jimmy G that?!) then keep him on the bench. I don't want to waste any more money on this less than JAG QB when we cut him in the off season.

Good lord the defense has been so bad for so many years that some of you think that the D is legit, there's a reason it looks better than in the past and it has to do with Josh Dobbs, Zach Wilson, Tommy Devito and Mac Jones.
You're just going to ignore holding Miami to 20? Doesn't fit your narrative? Zach Wilson just hung 30 second half points on Houston and DeVito just led a bad NYG team to a game-winning drive against GBP. When you hold an NFL team to single digits that's a good outing regardless of who's playing what position on the other side and when you're giving up the 9th fewest points per game that's legit.

The Raiders D is playing inspired football , they are playing above their talent level , which is fine by me . They are a couple of great players away from being a top 10 NFL defense.

Doesn't fit my narrative? You mean the one where they gave up 420 yards of total offense to Miami, the score line didn't reflect the game. Look I'm happy that we are finally getting pressure on opposing QB's but this team is not going to make a playoff run anytime soon if they can't figure out how to stop the run. Hopefully they go after someone of the d line free agents next year like Madubuike, Wilkins or Williams.

The only advantage that Jimmy had was being familiar with McDaniels O. It didn't translate to on field success, but that's it. Let AOC play. Take his lumps. Let the new OC learn, take his lumps. The remainder of these games are about in game experience. Give AOC a chance to prove he can learn the game.

Your hatred is striking in how deep it is for him. 😂😂

I don’t think he’s any good either, but he’s better than AOC. He is damn handsome though.

The nice thing about Amazon on Thursday nights is you can either watch from the start or get a highlight catch up. I will be coaching basketball so will miss the start for sure.

Kolton Miller AND Andre James are OUT tonight. That's not a good start for tonight's game.
You wont need them. Chargers are mailing this in and HC Staley is a dead man coaching. You guys should rip this "team" to shreds and then afterparty at Maxx's place.

They can give up yards until the cows come but points determine wins and losses not yards. I'm not saying we're elite but man if we get a competent offensive staff we can be competitive.

Imagine what a healthy Jacobs would do to this heartless Chargers team tonight?

That being said i can envision Zeus ripping off a long one at some point.

The chargers are playing like the Raiders were playing with McGoofy at the helm

So interesting dilemma

If the Raiders are up ,say 45 -3 , do they keep AOC in or put in Jimmy G ? The problem is if Jimmy gets hurt the Raiders are on the hook.
