2023 Las Vegas Raiders - RIP Jack - one of the greatest Super Bowl moments ever (5 Viewers)

Considering Raider Nation has been collectively crapping all over JImmy G since the deal was signed, I thought he had a really good game. 20 of 26 passing, and #4 QBR last week.
It wasnt flashy but it was very workman like , if we win every game of the year this way i wouldnt care as long as we make it to the playoffs and beyond

According to SportRadar data dating to 2000, it was the first time the Raiders produced a clock-killing, game-clinching drive that exceeded five minutes.
I knew it was bad but...wow. just, wow.

I wonder where that ranks in the entire league? Probably worst but by how much?

Dude has been unfairly dismissed his entire career. If he wasn't so injury prone the narrative may be different but, yeah he's full on Rodney Dangerfield.

How many buckets of KFC do I need to sacrifice to Jobu to keep him healthy all season?

Just dont steal the rum

I submit to all of you that the need to mention that you are awaiting Jimmy's next injury is as enjoyable to read as Jalen Carter updates.

Fair. I'll try to stop, starting now.

But Baby Rhino gonna feast tonight with Garrett Bradbury out.

Damn! Sorry, starting...now!

Hey, not directed at any one person.

I had to hold myself back from posting that stat about Carter's speed off the ball.

Because repetition of negative **** is not really why any of us seek the company of other fans, IMO. Maybe it stands out to me this year, because I am definitely enjoying the 2023 Raiders more than other Raider fans. I thought they had a great draft, a great preseason, and just beat a division foe on the road, while not playing our best.

I'm friends with some die hard Raiders fans on FB and they constantly send me invites to join different Raider fan groups , i never accept the invites because the negativity in those groups is depressing .

Anyway, my biggest unrealized hope for this season so far is Hunter Renfrow.

We don't need him to catch 100 balls. But if we can get that guy back, that's a very big deal to me.

Agreed. And week 1 the offense did enough to win with a poor game rushing, nothing from Renfrow and nothing from Mayer. This offense is only going to get better as the season goes on IMO.
It was nice to see the free agent WR be our biggest performer.

Same here. And most fans don’t know what they’re talking about. I come here because we are some of the mose sane, informed, realistic, literate and down-to-Earth Raider fans that I’ve been able to find on the internet 🤣

Bad news :( Still no sign of Chan Jones returning soon, but his roster spot remains plugged. Felt that sting this week when Curtis and Webb were scooped from the Raiders PS.

Jalen Carter is out tonight. He's in Canton, OH posing for his HOF bust.

j/k, he's a beast though.

Here’s a little fact: the Raiders and 49ers are the only teams that start the season on the road playing opposing teams’ home openers the first 2 weeks.
I’ve never been in the “Raiders always have a tough schedule conspiracy “ camp because of parody and playing in the AFC West, but starting a season off like that sure is a tough task.

I really hope we start with a heavy dose of running the ball this weekend, the Jets seemed to have success with that against the Bills with very little threat of the pass from Wilson. Control the clock and bore the fan base with some ground and pound

Agreed and this doesn't have to be just running JJ into clouds of dust. Get creative with quick-hitting lateral short pass concepts to the edges and perimeter as an extension of the running game - Andy Reid is king of that ****, and it's perfect for scripts like this. Keep the ball out of Josh Allen's hands, as I expect him to be man on a mission after last week's debacle.

ETA: Tre Tucker should be active with Jakobi out. Dude is perfect for creative short passing as an extension of the run concepts.

Jakobi most likely out. We should find out really quick if Hunter Renfrow is a valuable part of this team.

i hope we run a bunch of zone because if Allen is still doing dumb stuff, I want the DBs facing the ball.

Exactly… Shorten the game and limit the opposing team’s QB’s opportunities. They did the exact same thing to Russ last week. Long, sustained, clock-eating drives should be one of the keys to victory. It also keeps the score low and close. This seems to be the way McDaniels is molding the offense. This isn’t the Miami Dolphins quick strike offense. If the Bills jump on them early it could get ugly, but if the Raiders can keep it close, they will have a chance to win just like they did in Denver as long as they don’t screw it up with dumb penalties and/or turnovers.

chandler not coming back until he gets a mental health eval and he is refusing to see the doc. I wonder if this gives the team an out on his contract?
Wow. This got heavy pretty quickly.
This might have absolutely nothing to do with it, but if you have a bunch of money and some mental things that trip you up, Vegas may be the worst place in the civilized world to be.

I am not even talking about the partying, even though that's everywhere, every day, and better than everywhere (maybe Miami).

I just mean that Vegas is a pretty vacant place, really easy to tarnish your attitude about the human race living there.

If he doesn’t play on Sunday apparently he has a big secret to unleash to the public about Mark Davis. Just my opinion, but I think we’ll find out what’s going on with him after Sunday. Because he ain’t playing. So we’ll see if it’s a delusion or idle threat.

he really might just need a change of scenery. if the raiders get out of the contract and chan gets out of vegas, everybody wins. the guaranteed money is nice, but maybe not worth it to stay in vegas for some.

WTF. Just googled the latest Chan Jones news. Either he is a complete weirdo and moron or the Raiders are a complete disaster on multiple fronts.

Chandler Jones continues social media criticism of Raiders
By Michael David Smith
Published September 16, 2023 06:41 AM
Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones has been out of the facility and out for at least the first two games of the season for what have been deemed personal reasons, as he continues to make strange criticisms of the team on social media.

In his latest string of tweets, Jones directed his ire at Raiders owner Mark Davis.

“I wish mark Davis told the ppl why I really can’t play,” Jones wrote. “I think I know why , but I want y’all to ask him. Only reason I’m here because the raiders still haven’t contacted me or a rep of mine. I’ll let him say it to the public not me lmao. I’ve made over 100M, not money at all, I just wanna play Sunday.. well I’m actually missing another game and losing money. I wish I could play with my brothers, but marky mark is holding a huge secret that only I know! That’s why I was asking for my protection sorry if I sound scared because I’m not lol, when I found out I was lol. I won’t tell I just wanna play, but if I don’t play, I tell EVERYONE. Not about football anymore brother, let him tell you what he’s been doing lol. He can’t cut me, I have proof of his reps saying I’m under contract, and they want me on the team.. but not playing right now. Lol.

but marky mark is holding a huge secret that only I know!
This is kind of all I need to read to know he's not in a good spot, mentally.

Anyone see that text message he shared from Mark? I think maybe Chandler thought he was exposing something, but it just made Davis look really nice.

I haven’t said anything like this in over 20 years; but I think the Raiders are doing everything right in this situation.

I didn't see it. What did it say?

Love Mark Davis. Growing up around players has definitely given him a deeper appreciation of their contributions to the team, have also heard this about the Rooneys too, and he’s no afraid to step in when it’s required, saw that he was behind getting Jacobs back on board.

Then he doesn’t attend games until everyone can. Knows what he likes and sticks to it. On top of all of that the news of the teams value recently too

I would love to have a beer a and chat with him

Yes, Mark Definitely Comes Off As Thoughtful And Sincerely Concerned For Chandler Jones. There Is Certainly No Gotcha Moment In That Exchange.

But Now I'm Obsessed With Why Mark Davis Capitalizes Every Word In His Texts. I Mean, That's By Design. It's Not Like Accidentally Leaving Caps Lock On.

Every word? Why? Is That A Phone Feature You Can Enable? Does He Do That With Everyone? Is It An Illuminati Thing? Are All The Cool Kids Doing It? Is It A Compulsive Disorder?

This Whole Thing Just Got More Confusing For Me.

I could have met him a few years ago at the Boxing hall of fame in Canastota NY , he was at the formal dinner and i opted out because its boring . He was there and very accessible from what my buddies who went said . Still kicking myself

Probably took extra 10 minutes to type it out this way.
