2023 Philadelphia Eagles - Bury me in a Hurts jersey when I die so that there’s a chance I come back! (5 Viewers)

Crap! Jeff McLane just posted that both Blankenship and Gainwell are not expected to play tomorrow. Both of them sitting hurts, but Blankenship out will have a huge impact, especially with Bradberry likely out, too.

Fletch is likely to play, which is good.

If I wasn't working tomorrow night, I'd be cooking ribs.
Ugh not ideal. Whatever Jefferson over/under is, it should be mashed.

I'm worried he has a chip on his shoulder after getting shutdown last year by Slay. He could have a huge game unless Cousins is eating turf all night.

Via @pdomo

Eagles offensive line, which is universally regarded as one of the best in the league, didn't play very well v. NE. All Pro RT
@LaneJohnson65 gave up 6 pressures, including one QB hit. Last year, he gave up 9 pressures and 0 hits THE ENTIRE SEASON.

Product of having TNF in Week 2 when many "banged up" injuries occur in Week 1 as players get their first full game of action. They both would probably be fine for a Sunday game. With MNF in Week 3, need to get through this game with a W and stay relatively healthy and then take advantage of 10 days off.

Howso? They have a non-division road game next week @TB. They aren't looking ahead and it's not like they're taking MIN lightly, they made the playoffs.

I think playing so poorly on Sunday was a good thing. I think the Eagles will want to come out and show they deserve to be in the conversation as best team in the NFC.

Hockenson caught 8 balls last week, but did little with them. I expect a big game from him and to everyone above's point, I don't see Jefferson getting shut down completely again. All that being said, I agree w/ @Snotbubbles that it was probably a good thing that week one was not great (but we won). I expect them to come out and put together a MUCH better offensive vision, including getting Swift and Goedert involved. This Dline should eat Cousins up. All in all if the Eagles offense looks like it did last week I will begin to be legit worried. I'm optimistic that we'll see similar offensive output to last year.

Eagles Win at home: 31-24

Bradberry, Gainwell, and Blankenship are officially OUT for Thursday. Cox is Questionable.

MIN starting C is OUT, and their LT is Questionable.
Sydney Brown, Josh Jobe and Rashad Penny - what are our expectations for them?

I think Jobe will be OK filling in for Bradberry
Brown I am excited for but think he will be a little juiced up and over pursue or bite on a pump fake here or there

Penny I am expecting to be used to run right at them.

Have to think Swift gets the majority of the work now at RB. And Jalen Carter is going to gobble up that MIN interior Oline.

I don't think Brown gets the other S spot just yet. Justin Evan or Terrell Edmunds are more likely to play ahead of him. Maybe if this were later in the season and he had more experience.

Carter seems to be an interesting player. I'm not sure if he's ready for 70+ snaps but he definitely could be a 2nd half closer for us especially if we have the lead.

I like our depth in the secondary. LB could get exposed. J Jetta may get his but IMO the x-factor is Addison.

Ya I just worry with all the injuries, looking so flat, and Min being pissed, that they might come out strong.

I do agree though that game 1 looking rough is going to pump up and motivate the team.

This Viking team doesn't get pissed, they are your average ho hum NFL team who got extremely lucky in one score games last year and now regression is coming for revenge.

Plus it isn't like the Eagles rolled last week, they knew they were sloppy and got away with it. They won't do it again. Eagles by 17 or more.

Idk about 17 but they should win. A late score by Min might spoil the cover though.

That is fair. I think the Eagles offense gets it rolling and puts up 35 + and I think the Vikings are in the 14 to 24 range.

McLane blocked me pedersons last year after I called him. Out on ******** it’s kind of funny only beat guy that ever blocked me. He’s a pompous jackass from what I’ve heard from a friend in the media abd team FS with him constantly

Bradberry also out

Not seeing a big blowout, but I could see a solid win with Eagles in control most of the game. Cousins is gonna put up some big yards to Jefferson and I could see the Vikings scoring 24 or so. But I also think the eagles are gonna look a lot better on offense, scoring 27-30 on their own with a good chance of a defensive score...Cousins will get lots of yards and some points but he's gonna get a lot of pressure too and a defensive score is very possible.

Eagles 35 -26

are folks leaning towards higher or lower scoring game here? speaking more relatively here as vegas has total at 48 or 49 so expectations are for points. read somewhere last year Thurs games were lower scoring not sure if means anything.

lots of points imo

I’m all over Philly -6.5 tonight. That D line is scary and Minnesota won’t be able to protect Kirk, plus it’s a prime time game. I also think the Vikings have a bottom 5 defense and will finish the year below .500

Translation: Minnesota is probably a lock 🔒 tonight

I think we see an offense much like last week's. Short week with several starters injured and out of the lineup. I still think the Eagles win but as others have said, Thursday night games generally suck anyway. Week 3 is when we'll see the Eagles start to gel after this mini-bye. They'll have time to work on some of the flaws and (hopefully) have all of the starters back.

I think tonight is closer than we think it will be - 34-28. Jefferson and Hockenson will probably be the bane of our defense's existence. Other than those 2 guys though, I feel we got a good shot of shutting everyone else down lol.

The only reason I don't put a big bet on the Eagles is because this is a Thursday night game. Weird stuff happens on shorts weeks.

I don't know why the league doesn't have teams coming off BYEs play the Thursday games. Wait until week 6 to start the Thursday games.
You know why $$AMAZON$$

Yeah, I know. I get a laugh when the league talks player safety. A game 3 days after a game is about as unsafe as you can get.

People with that kind of power always talk out of both sides of their face.

There are three reasons: Money, money and money.

I used to work in a school district and every year they would ask about making the building more secure and safe. Every year a committee would be formed to get bids and every year they would reject the motion to secure the building because of money.

While the administrators probably got fat raises.
