2023 Philadelphia Eagles - Complete waste of a season finally comes to an end. (6 Viewers)

The outcome of this game is irrelevant.

It’s late December. They are who they are. If we’re being objective, they’re simply not a very good football team….

The defense isn't good. It needs a major overhaul.
We need a new scheme. This fangio keep everything in front of you defense doesn't work. It just leads to 15 play 10 mins drives that kill your team.

A bunch of guys on this defense got old real quick. Time to cut bait with the older higher priced guys and just go with youth and build. Maybe take a step back for a year to get younger, quicker and hungrier.
The youthful players look like **** too

You have to get them out there and play. Make their mistakes and learn. Take a step back to take two steps forward.

You can’t run any defense when your DL is handled in every aspect of the game. Literally dominated in every aspect.
Is that the players or the scheme. I don't really see any stunts or anything creative.

Or the fact they are on the field for 15 plays a drive

Pretty clear who the real coaches of the team were last season. The warm bodies they plugged in this season were a disaster and is the responsibility of HC.

Honestly thought before the game this would be a get right game. At home, against a bad team... 10 minutes into the game I knew they were going to lose.
There isn't going to BE a get right - this team is basically the Vikings last year with some lucky wins. The fact we haven't had one game all year we looked good should tell us something. They're either going to clean house in the offseason, or try to "tweak" things - which will be a disaster.

Would anyone be shocked if we lose the playoff game and one and done and Nick gets fired? Everything I heard about the coaching staff there were people who felt Desia’ inexperience would be an issue and Lurie told Nick about Patricia as a plan b. Why get a coach hired as Dc if you need a plan b just in case. A lot of players and staff loved dennard Wilson and he should’ve been the hired in the first place as our DC.

Nick ain't getting fired this year but he is definitely on the hot seat next year. He needs to hire some veteran coordinators this off season. Hiring young guys did not work this season..

Does Dallas now control their destiny to win the division?
Yes. Beat WSH and they get it.
Oh damn, really? I thought if we beat the Giants we had the tie breaker.
We would have had it if we were both 13-4. Now the cowboys would win in the conference record, I believe
Wow that's brutal. Did not think we would be the 5 seed or that this was possible when we were cheering for Dallas last night. Now that blown call (yes of course our awful play mostly) gives Dallas the division. Wow.

This is basically the 2010 season remake. Have a highlight real walk off come back win against the Giants, do nothing after, then lose in the first round.

Walk off come back win against the Bills, do nothing since. Lose in the first round.

Defense is a turnstile and offense has no confidence, whether it's the coaching, the players, or both. Maybe the "cupcakes" left on their schedule help them both get back on track, but it's just as likely they go from 10-1 controlling their own destiny for a 1-seed and the division to a 5 seed playing on the road in the WC round. That would be a pretty big fall and among the worst in team history. And if I'm in the NFL writer's room, I would punch up the script to include a devasting injury in W17 @ MetLife that happens only because we had to play the starters to still have a chance at the division because we also drop 1 of these next 3.
The only thing I got wrong was the devastating injury. Likely happened this week instead of next, to DeVonta Smith on a waste of a play call after a timeout.

Also helps explain why they might be more successful in hurry up mode where Jalen is calling his own plays
Yep... The talent is there (on both sides)... the co-ordinators are just such trash. I thought losing our co-ordinators would be a big loss, but not THIS big of a loss like @Bigboy10182000 was talking about all pre season.

They are SO in over their head.... we need some people with experience or young brilliant minded coaches.... Ours are clearly neither

Damn... seems bang on.

Would you be completely shocked if the Eagles lose 2 out of their next 4?

That would be debacle level. Won't happen.
Tell us more about how we lifelong Eagles fans were wrong about how we saw this season playing out :wall:
I e been saying since the first week something wasn’t right this year.
And you took alot if **** for it
Yep winning hides a lot of issues. Unfortunately It takes some loses for people to see if

This is quite revisionist.

So you’re not a fan or the RB or TE screen with your 125 pound WR being the lead blocker being ran every week? Brian Johnson is the guy who draws up a play and has this bright look like it will work and everyone else looks confused. He has zero feel for calling a game.

That entire sequence starting after the hold was amongst the most disconnected drive I’ve ever seen. Laughably bad.

Coaches need to be fired. Not demoted. Fired.

I don’t know who’s to blame but this is exactly what happened after the SB with Doug. Promote unprepared guys and pray. This along with the defensive scheme seems like an organizational philosophy.

And lurie was quick to fire. Wonder what he's thinking

Philly is impressive but beatable, and I say this as a Dolphin fan. Hurts seems to be a turnover machine this year.

That being said, teams, basically need to keep them from third and short/medium bc there is no answer for the Brotherly shove that I can see.

In the AFC, I think Miami (healthy), the Bills, the Chiefs, and Jax can give them a run for their money (KC's D is very impressive so far this year).

In the NFC, San Fran (assuming Purdy is not in a slump now), Detroit (i'm sure campbell wants a go at them), and some surprise BS team (ironically, the Cowboys?) could give them some issues.
Yea I dont think anyone in here think Philly isnt beatable. Fortunately every team seems beatable, so being "pretty good" is a great recipe for success. Eagles schedule is still really hard however. If I had to predict a record I'd probably still say 11-6, 12-5 at best (WHICH TO BE CLEAR IS A GREAT RECORD).

You think the Eagles will go 6 - 5 the rest of the way? FOH.
Sorry, what is "FOH"? But yea, my 11-6 or 12-5 record prediction back in October wasn't too far off, was it.
