2023 Philadelphia Eagles - Complete waste of a season finally comes to an end. (5 Viewers)

Back after I was given vacation for the day from the game thread.

Good win. Defense is baffling. Dominate Miami. Get schooled by the Commies. They better fix their **** real fast before next week.

Carter and Davis need to be healthy too.
Your third line has a lot to do with your second line.

The other factor is that if an opponent is constantly getting the ball out quickly to mitigate the pass rush, as WAS did yesterday, then Desai needs to adjust to have us bump the receivers at the line. Allowing quick throws to guys who are instantly open because we are playing off coverage is a recipe for giving up lots of yards and points.
The only problem with that is neither Slay or Bradberry is very good at playing press man.

Bradberry has his issues this year, and I’m not trying to pick on him, but he got destroyed by Tyreek trying it last week. I know it’s Tyreek, and I haven’t watched any all-22, but I think part of Desai not playing that tight is personnel.

Doesn’t change the fact that I agree with you- that seems like what you have to do if tou don’t want Sam Howell to look like an All-Pro.

Yep. And they don't have a Tyreek. Most teams don't.

Scratches head. Tyreek had 88 receiving yards on 15 targets.

For the "This QB woulda beat the Eagles in the playoffs if he was healthy" team, kinda funny looking at that now. 7-1, best team in the NFL, yet still have not played a complete game yet. Should get Cam Jurgens back just in time for a key divisional game and hoping to go 8-1 into the bye. Jalen is that dude. AJ is that dude. Reddick is that dude. Love this team.
I don’t think we should be sniffing ourselves too much. We lost a game we should’ve won Vs the jets and almost gave away another with the Sake commanders we almost lost too again today. We should be worrying about all our own issues right now.

Yeah I see some people on the socials thinking Dak will be a breeze. We played sloppy football half the game. Do that Vs Dal and game night be over by Halftime

Would’ve had over 100 with a TD without the drop and had another drop earlier in the day

Let's play a little game. Let's assume that we count the drop that Hill had that would have been a TD. That was 21 yards. So Hill would have had 109 yards on 15 targets. That's 7.2 yards per target. That's would be his 2nd worst yards per target of the season. He had 20.1 against the Giants, 16.3 against the Panthers, 14.3 against the Chargers and Broncos, 11.6 against Buffalo. The Eagles did a helluva job against Tyreek Hill.

We are the only 1 loss team. Every team has flaws, I'd like to hear who you got ahead of us. I'm not worried about anyone but ourselves b/c for the most part the only way to beat us is either

1. No Jalen
2. No Lane
3. Lose the turnover margin 0-4

Thats it. Thats the blue print.

But let me hear who you got ahead of us please. I'm sniffing myself and I smell like 7 wins.

Bills with their 3 losses?
Cowboys with their loss to the Cardinals giving them their only win?
Chiefs who just looked terrible against the Broncos?
Dolphins who we just beat?
Niners who have lost 3 games in a row and Purdy sort of looking like an OK average starter, but his arm strength not being where it needs to be to make the throws his brain thinks he can?

Jordan Mailata currently is the highest graded offensive lineman, not just LT in the league. Can't wait til this movie comes out and even more so, who will play the role of him. Just a great story and a huge credit to the front office and Jeff Stoutland.

No Leonard Williams for the Eagles to Deal with

The #Giants are finalizing a deal to send Pro Bowl DL Leonard Williams to the #Seahawks , per me and @MikeGarafolo, giving them financial flexibility.

Any given Sunday any team can win this year. You beat the Eagles by winning TOP, stopping the run and blitzing DBS at Hurts and making him roll out to his left with no room to run.

You are acting like we are somehow invincible. We’re a very flawed 7-1 team in fact I think last year I had less questions about the team then I have this year. Injuries are becoming a concern, we aren’t getting TOs or to the QB like we did last year, and the offense for the most part has been touch and go.

Yeah we beat mia but their wins this year have been against combine opponents with a .500 record. I think Dal lost that fake taking ARz too lightly. They seemed to get s little too cocky. KC battled the snow and Mahomes being sick first time KC lost to Den in 16 games last win Manning was the QB. We lost to the jets this year we’ve never lost too. This year I wouldn’t be super used with how the leagues gone we get a first round bye and then lose our playoff game. At the same time I wouldn’t be surprised if we made the SB. That’s a lot of possibilities right now.

Actually scratch that we deal with him earlier now. Last game of this 6 game stretch is in Sea

Cool. I'll wait for your list of teams you personally think are better than the Eagles. You have this uncanny ability to "Eagles shoulda lost" our games and "That team shoulda won" for other teams.

History on when Manning Played, or how many rings the Cowboys have or what happened when Wentz or McNabb were here or any other weird historical stuff you bring up is irrelevant to this season.

I'm on record saying we are the best team in the NFL, and I also stated that the other teams definitely have their flaws too. Until I see your list, this is just hot air/practice for your debating skills.

Well we're gonna have to deal with him week 15 and possibly in the playoffs.

Just a completely different reality than what we experience.

Stop engaging the troll who thinks the 2022-23 version of Nick Foles would have been an improvement over Hurts in the Super Bowl. There's no more value in that than there is in engaging the Cowboys trolls.
Weird how we have an "Eagles fan" that is a troll to us, just so weird. I try to understand but I mean, I can't understand irrational crazy people so good call.

Always reminds me of 7th-8th grade at the St. Dennis Fair. I wanna play carnival games for candy wearing my sleeveless British flag T-shirt.

I played them out and can’t stand their songs anymore. Just like AC/DC. All their songs sound the same.

Did you all forget it’s Dallas week?

Dak has weird request for Philly Defense
I admire his confidence. He doesn't shy away from talking sometimes. I also like how he is sorta pissed off this year too. Got nothing against the guy, just that he is Dallas' QB. Should be a great matchup.
Now I'm trying to think of a way of incorporating pouring honey on him into a sack celebration. 🤔
Hassan needs one of those honeybear squeeze bottles in his sock

He's not a troll. That's just genuinely what he believes. Some men you just can't reach.

He says Micah is a POS and overrated, simply because he went to a college he hates.
But seriously, should anyone understand that rationality when he claims his own QB (who has been top 2-3 in the league for two years) is anything more than a journeyman bum? The irony is the “professional takes” he has on rasslin, the ultimate fake sport. 😁

Right and at any given point in time

KIRK COUSINS TORE HIS ACHILLES

Cool, how does that have to do with...nvm

I do think the Eagles aare probably the best team in the NFL right now, but as DJAX is so quick to point out, we aren't dominating and certainly have some flaws. Hurts is putting up decent numbers, certainly among the top 10 in the league overall, but something is off with him. He had that limp and played last week with a brace. He isn't running often and doesn't look as quick when he does run. you would THINK that would help his greatest detractor here to come around a bit on him as he's winning games and accumulating solid stats without being able to run well.

Like most here, I don't think they've yet played their best. 7-1 without playing their best. Enjoy the ride.

All that said, this is a nice test this week. Playing at home you'd think Eagles should win, and I fully expect them to be favored by 5 or 6. But Dallas is one of those strange teams that can play with anyone anywhere on a given day (yet lose to a bad team another week). And the Eagles as defending NFC champs and current best record are gonna get Dallas' best shot I think.

I saw something today and Hurts I believe is 3rd in total yards (passing/rushing combined) and 2nd in total tds (rushing/passing combined). And he has a bone bruise, its been reported so that is definitely slowing him down. And like I have stated (quite a few times in different threads on here) I don't believe there are *any* elite teams this season. A bunch of very good ones. And in the end, you are decided playoff seeding by standings, which are determined by wins/losses, as much as certain people and fanbases want to point out "How they destroyed X or Y team compared to when the Eagles played X or Y team). As of now, we have 1 loss, by 2 points to a tough team with a good defense, and had it not been a 0-4 turnover margin, we'd be 8-0. But you can't take that back no more than can you add an extra W to a team with a blowout victory on their schedule. 1 point win, 50 point win, still just 1 win per game.

Definitely should be a good game this week!

Seems like if we stopped turning the ball over the dominance would be there.
Pretty much yep. Sack #s slightly down from last years thru 8 game pace, offensive yards, ppg etc all about the same. We were like +13 at this point last year and I think we are -3 right now, which is bottom 3rd of the league.

Yet here we are still 7-1 (with a 1st place schedule for those "easy opponents" guys)

Sources: The #Falcons are trading for some defensive help, bringing in #Eagles DT Kentavius Street in a late-round pick swap. It’s a conditional 2024 sixth rounder (if he plays in at least 6 games) in exchange for a 2025 7th rounder.

FWIW Hurts jumped Tua in the MVP odds. Mahomes @ +270, Hurts @ +350 and Tua @ +370.

Of course I threw $50 on him before the season started @ +1100. :coffee:

ETA: Also threw $50 on Jalen Carter for DROY @ +700 :coffee:

ETA 2: And of course $500 on the Birds to win it all @ +650 :homer:

#Eagles needed to clear roster space for future transactions — be it another trade, activating Cam Jurgens back to 53, or signing Julio Jones to 53 (he has one elevation left). They were deep enough at DT to move Street.

Should in meaning the way we played we should’ve lost and didn’t really deserve the win more like the other team just wasn’t good enough to execute on our mistakes.

You and others here really need to get thicker skin. Sorry not everyone is blowing rainbows and sun shine about the team up your *** every day

Hurts has lost like 3 games in 2 years. What more do you want

Wins are great SB wins are what matter the most hurts can become the winningest SB in Eagles history for all I care and beat every record the team has. But if he doesn’t ant any SBs wins after all of that it’s really just hallow stats
