2023 Philadelphia Eagles - Complete waste of a season finally comes to an end. (8 Viewers)

Derek Barnett - 99 snaps
Nolan Smith - 47 snaps

EVERY SNAP BARNETT STEALS FROM NOLAN SMITH IS A CRIME!
I'm no Barnette fan but I can only think of 2 times Smith was on the field this year. One a sack and the other last Sunday where he tackled Covey.
He's only been on the field for 47 snaps. Barnett has more than twice that, and Smith has more tackles, TFL and QB hits. And Smith had a great camp. Everyone was buzzing about how good he was in camp. The whole bench almost emptied when he got his sack.

Barnett's best quality this year is that he hasn't made any glaring stupid penalties. Yet.
DONT jinx it, man!

I know we’re at home and only have 1 loss but man I got a bad feeling here. We’ve been very inconsistent, some very uneven wins, lots of floundering. Our D looked really bad last week against Sam turnover machine Howell. Dallas put on an absolute clinic and mopped the Rams with the floor. I think they take it to us and win by 14. It pains me to say it, sorry, I’ll exit stage right.

BOOOOOOOOO!!!!! GTFOOH!

J/k, I get that feeling. I’ve had it several weeks this year. But this team keeps winning, no matter what. I have full confidence in Jalen’s ability to put the team in his back and bring them back.

I’m not afraid of the Cowboys beating us, I’m afraid of us beating ourselves with turnovers and penalties.

The funny thing is Dak Prescott will post worse numbers against the Eagles defense this weekend than Sam Howell did last weekend.
I sure hope so- those are some gaudy numbers. If Dak posts those kinda numbers, Philly likely loses.

Washington always plays us tough, for some reason. And Bienemy has the cheat code to beating our defense. Dak usually does pretty well against our D, too, though. But this year, Jalen Carter is the difference. They might be able to neutralize Aaron Donald, but devote that much attention to Carter and Cox, Reddick and Sweat will get home.

This season on my Slack football chat that I have with friends, I have weeks where I take a giant turd on players, and it usually ends up like Aaron Rodgers, Clayton Kershaw, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Kirk Cousins. I took a giant turd on Rodgers week 1, I took one on Kershaw before game one of the divisional round against the Diamonbacks. I took one on Cousins this weekend just because I was bored, and took one on Garoppolo Monday night.

I took one on Prescott for this weekend.

Thanks man, we appreciate it a lot.

Hoping Dak sucks but doesn't get injured.

Ok so Steen did get the majority of the reps w the 1st team on RG today. Seems Jurgens will be left to have the bye to recover and be 100% after it. Seems they are done seeing Opeta look like a turnstile, so the changing of the guard seems evident.

Opeta getting banged up last week might wind up being a good thing. They can let Sua save a little face and then after the bye Jurgens is back.

Large majority of the fanbase that only know Tyler Steen as an OLine rookie draft pick name on the roster will simultaneously say, "Oh, he's not white?" the first time he gets camera time on Sunday :lmao:

I am a big Steen fan. Jason Kelce kinda had a lot of words to say about him, and if you know Kelce, he doesn't really heap praise on rookies really at all. That's why when he was giving glowing reviews of Jalen Carter my hype head got big.

He really fits the mold of what we like our G's to be, maulers that are athletic and strong. What he said:

"I think his stock's been on the rise the last few weeks. He's got a lot of interesting traits, man. He's an athletic kid, great feet, really good twitchiness to him, operates in space well having played tackle. I think that that's one of the things that is nice when you slide a guy inside. Too many guys coming out of college that play guard and center aren't used to the spacing and the type of athletes you see in the NFL. He's playing against those players off the edge in the SEC. I think he's he's got a lot of intriguing things about him."

I don’t have a great feeling about this game. Dallas has a ton on the line and I feel like we’ve been flirting with losses. Going Dallas 31-28
My only concern is this.

I really really *really* want them to go with a heavy running game. Hoping they learned their lesson from the Jets game. Now that was its own game and once Lane went out Stoll was a turnstile at RT which caused pressures and directly led to one of the INTs. And the Jets were selling out to stop the run.

I don't think the Cowboys have the same horses on defense to do this, although their LB is playing pretty well and OSA is a man you must account for. Lawrence is a pretty solid run defender too. But IMO we can really dominate them up front with our line and once we get them down in the scoreboard, pin our ears back on defense when they are 1-dimensional. The Cowboys are a different team when they are trying to come back.

Counter point:

AJ Brown leads the league in yards vs Man Coverage, and the next closest guy is like 150 yards behind him.
Cowboys play 2nd most snaps w Man coverage

So this might be another one of those games were Brian Johnson outthinks himself and just wants to go pass heavy.

Which would piss me off (only if it doesn't work of course)

Eagles 34 Cowboys 23

Dallas' run defense is not great. Their pass defense (even w/out Diggs) is very good and good at generating turnovers. This is a game scenario that I hope they understand is a run Swift a ton scenario. Was listening to Seth Joyner explain what kind of gameplan he would use to negate Parsons as he is their main weapon on def. He said he would run 2 TE sets and motion both onto Parsons side then run the ball right at him. All day long. Basically just beat the **** out of him with big bodies and eventually a guy with Swifts speed/ability will start to rip off big gains. Which all makes sense to me, so they'll probably split 6 carries between Swift and Gainwell and throw it 50 times.

Yeah man I mean BJ was in on those games last year when we did that. No sense in giving them chances to go at Jalen and his gimpy knee considering the bye is right after this game. But again, I think he does the galaxy brain stuff too often instead of going with the practical/logical stuff (like RZ running Gainwell when Swift EPA is way way higher). And one thing I have noticed is once the first 10 plays or so are called, other than the Minnesota game, we don't really adjust the playcalling run vs passing ratio, we just kind of adjust the plays and calls of those. We must run the ball you son of a b*** haha

This is the peak time of Dallas's season, when they still look good and have a chance. Once week 12/13 rolls around we all know they will be fighting 500 and claiming "you had the easier schedule!!"
Nah, we not doing this "easy schedule" nonsense again this year. Not with the highest strength of schedule coming into the season, a 1st place schedule and the toughest 6 game stretch any team in the NFL will face. Will see where the chips fall at the end of the season, but I'm not hearing that crap this year from anyone without checking them.
Show me one post where a Dal fan claims any Phi wins were 'hard'

Roby, Scott, and Jurgens all ruled out this week. Bradberry was limited, everyone else full.

Will we finally see Penny play or more Gainwell shoved down our throats?

Zangaro and Roob talking about moving Bradberry into the slot for this game. Apparently CeeDee has 63.7% of snaps from the slot.

I hate this idea. Bradberry is off this year- looks slow and unmotivated. And he never was ideal as a slot CB. Keep him and Slay outside- they match up well against Gallup and Cooks.

Use Byard in the Big Nickel for 1st and 2nd down, then roll Ricks in for 3rd. Even Jobe looked ok against MIA.
Tyreek >>> Lamb

Its OK if we lose the game. We just need to figure out how to play good football. Once we do the winning will be a good by-product.

According to Eskin Eagles will have a game in Germany next season

Really hope they’re the home team 🤞

If they're the home team, do STH get tickets for the game?
Nope! But next year is the “NFC year” for 9 home games. So STHs would only be losing out on the “extra” game, and still have 8 like this year.

As a STH, I would prefer it be “away” so I’m still getting tickets for all 9 games.

as a lifelong Giants fan it pains me to say it but the Eagles look better this year than they did last year. and that's scary. I would be shocked if they're not SB bound once again. and fully expect them to take the kelly green into KC and beat the living snot out of the chiefs. they might have one of the most well rounded teams in history this season. and Cortez the Killer at QB.
how the hell did I become a fan? I mean NYG sucks yeah, but in today's parity NFL it's nice to see a dominant team crushing opponents on a regular basis. Ravens are doing it too, but their QB still has not won a playoff game
go eagles!

Wouldn't we rather be the away team and not lose a home game?
I get to work the game if they’re the home team and I’ve never been to Germany 😊

I'd love that for you, but I think I'd rather the positive of the Eagles having 9 Home, 7 Away vs 8 Home, 8 Away.

Yep I feel we’ve managed a few wins we shouldn’t have had and the other team beat themselves and didn’t execute on chances to beat us. We all love to **** on Dal but they are a team that I’d we mess up won’t mess up taking those chances

Micah vs Sweaty J

Micah Parsons: 43 pressures, 6 sacks, 9 hits, 28 hurries

Josh Sweat: 40 pressures, 5.5 sacks, 9 hits, 25 hurries
Parsons is an absolute stud. Also a good dude

He’s not really his college coach covered up hazing bullying and sexual assault by him and others while in college and made jokes about the Watson investigation. While at Penn State, Parsons was implicated in a controversy involving hazing and acts of a demeaning nature, some with sexual connotations. Yet er Gross Matos CAR De was also involved

I had a neighbor who’s daughter went there and was also at a party he attended with others. Micah was getting handsy with some girls including her friends. Johan Dotson was there it seemed like by himself talking to friends. Thank god he saw her and her friends as he came over and got Micah away. There was some back and forth with Micah acting like he did nothing wrong all while Dotson had his buddies escort my neighbors daughter and her friends home. They went to police the next day but as you can imagine the campus police don’t do a dam when it comes to issues with the football team. My neighbors daughter and her friends transferred shortly after that for the following semester ss they didn’t feel comfortable on campus.

So I don’t know where all this Parsons is a great human comes from

Boston Scott ruled out. Time for Rashaad Penny. Could be a great game to use him in the RZ.

Apparently Scott had a personal matter. Hope he and his family are ok. Usually these things they are gone a day so it must be serious if he’s missed the whole week plus the game.

I hate the over seas games. Was hoping we would never have to go.
I love them personally. Fans are way more into it then most of these teams crowds are. Also when in Germany my cousin said he saw a ton of Eagles fans when he worked over there. My brother went over for a work conference and met quite a few Philly people there.

It’s a good time but the Americans really show what an ignorant bunch of drunks we are. Compared to the Europeans we don’t know how to control our enjoyment of adult beverages

Baltimore defebse has been great again that’s why. Usually when Baltimore has a top defebse they do well despite their QB

Just checked my Hilton Honors account for Munich, Germany in the second week of November 2024. The rooms are already sold out.
Hmmm...

Do we even know it will be Munich? Thought they might try a new German city like Berlin.

And they're talking about Spain next year, and even possibly Australia. Aus is a long *** flight.

Cowboys are 6-6 over their last 12 road games, and 1-7 on grass in those.
That sounds and awful lot like "never won a game below 40°." It's all nonsense.
Really? A team can't have a significantly different road/home split? Or be better built for turf as opposed to grass? The 1-7 does seem a bit fluky, but it's NOT meaningless. This is NOT a coin flip game. It's certainly no gimme, but the Eagles SHOULD be favored here
