I’m curious what kind of heat Dak takes down there. Some of his mistakes are just unforgivable.

Yesterday’s game felt like a “better to be lucky than good” to me. We really need to hope we come out of the bye having learned from the last couple months. I really feel like we’ve been winning in spite of these coordinators. There’s just so many “wtf are you doing!?!?” plays. That 3rd and 3 late in the game still stands out to me. Also, after we went up a couple scores, was there any doubt at all Dallas would go right down the field?

Gigantic plays from the DL late was nice to see.

Agree with the above in that Bradberry is definitely done and Slay has one foot slipping.

Yeah the offensive play calling is still, situational, I want better decisions. There was a series where we started deep in their territory, we get 8 on first down. And next 2 plays were sack, incomplete pass and we just punt it away. Can't keep doing this kind of stuff.

Speaking of punting, Mann is actually punting pretty well. He had one that was not great, but otherwise, he has really been booming the ball. I believe he had 3 that went 55+ last night. Extra 15 yards on a punt compared to Siposs is huge in games like this.

As far as Dak goes, I'm sure the national media that the Cowboys fanbase has been sparring with all season it seems will give him heat, but in Dallas world, the owner, coaches it seems he can do no wrong, despite often melting down as the pressure builds, With that said, I mean, he's who you live and die with so you can't really be trashing him too hard if you are the teammates and coaches. They will shift blame to offensive line play deep and probably the refs. Classis stuff.

I thought Steen played pretty well for his first career start. He did give up a few to Micah (who got his for sure this game), but overall we didn't hear his name too much, aside from the clutch fumble recovery.

Feels good to be 8-1, especially 2 years in a row. KC on MNF is gonna be fun!

I had a neighbor who’s daughter went there and was also at a party he attended with others. Micah was getting handsy with some girls including her friends. Johan Dotson was there it seemed like by himself talking to friends. Thank god he saw her and her friends as he came over and got Micah away. There was some back and forth with Micah acting like he did nothing wrong all while Dotson had his buddies escort my neighbors daughter and her friends home. They went to police the next day but as you can imagine the campus police don’t do a dam when it comes to issues with the football team. My neighbors daughter and her friends transferred shortly after that for the following semester ss they didn’t feel comfortable on campus.

So I don’t know where all this Parsons is a great human comes from

Re-watching the 2nd Half this morning. My biggest impression is that Slay and Bradberry are both cooked. Bradberry looks like he has quit on the team- Offseason we need to trade for a CB and eat $20M in cap.

The Eagles defense seemed to settle down a bit once they took Ricks off Lamb and put Slay on him. They never do that. Normally Slay stays in his spot. Slay has definitely lost a step, but he's the least of the worries in that secondary. Ricks had his lunch handed to him all day. Welcome to the NFL, rookie.

With the buzz that the Eagles were interested in the Chicago corner, I think it's obvious that Howie knows he needs to get younger at the position. You can't fix everything at once. It wouldn't shock me to see Philly go CB early in the draft next year.

ETA: It wouldn't shock me to see the Eagles get a CB and move one of Slay or Bradberry to safety.

With that said, who's brilliant idea was it to put a rookie on CD Lamb with no help?

With that said, the Goedert play he was injured on, maybe its me. But didn't it seem the defender was doing exactly what he wanted the result of the play to be. Wedging his arm to break it? Maybe I'm a little biased/sensitive but it sure seemed to me he was not doing anything other than trying to get his arm in there so he could then come down with full body weight on it in an attempt to injure him.

You have a really unhealthy obsession for other grown men and the Dallas Cowboys.

I’ve been very critical of Dak this season, but I put things in perspective, he played a really tough team, he played pretty well and carried the team on his back most of the night offensively, and they came just a few yards away from winning the game.

It’s an entirely new offensive scheme for them and they’re getting better and better as the season progresses.

It was a good game and a good win for the team you root for.

Oh yeah. They take solace in the fact that "Dak is 8-4 against the Eagles" or that Lamb had a better game than AJ Brown, or the fact Dak's stat sheet looks better.

What doesn't show up on the stat sheet is the lack of situational awareness by the QB and the coach. Stepping out of bounds on the 2 point attempt, taking a delay of game in the most crucial moment of the game, then to only take a back-breaking sack directly after that. I think time and time again we have seen that Dak cracks under the pressure.

Interesting stat I saw at the end of the game:

QB rating when trailing on the scoreboard -

Jalen Hurts 121.4 (1st in the NFL)
Dak Prescott 65.1 (Last in the NFL)

All in all it seems no matter what, we find ways to win and are a real clutch team. We didn't get much pressure on Dak all game long and them bam, when it matter the most sack, sack, sack.

Love this team. 8-1 heading into the bye. 5 games left of the alleged Gauntlet, and I really think we get at least 3 or the next 5. Which would put us at 11 wins going into the anti-Gauntlet of Giants, Cardinals, Giants to finish the season.

Everything we want is right in front of us. Time to rise all the way to the top once again!

Dak is your typical decent QB who can look great for a stretch but he’ll never be consistent enough to win ya the big one. He’ll put up good regular season #s but can never be the guy.

I'm just saying situationally, when he is down and needs to catch up, its not great. 6 2nd half points. Getting the ball to the 6 with 25 seconds left and ending up tossing a prayer from the 26. How did that happen, how can that happen? Taking a sack instead of just airmailing the ball out of bounds. That key sack, he tried to do something instead of doing that, he went to run backwards or make a play or something but he was instantly met by a defender. No timeouts. You just can't take sacks in those moments.

And I'm sure you saw the stat I shared he is the absolute LOWEST QB rating in the entire league when he is down on the scoreboard. Is that just a coincidence or am I reading too much into a stat like that compounded what I saw in those moments last night. Running out of bounds on the 2 point conversion, when it would have just been a FG to tie, but instead being forced to score a touchdown late. It all adds up to me, and he's a 30 year old QB in his 9th season. And we have seen how he performs in the playoffs - 11 total passing TDs in 6 games, but 7 game in to, including the most in a game to the worst team, a Bucs team that had a losing records. I just think this is who he is, much like Romo - a good regular season QB, puts up stats, wins games against the lower level teams, but the bigger the spotlight, the smaller they play. I think there is an argument to be made about that.

And I don't hate the guy, I think he is a really good leader, his teammates love him and he hovers around the top 9-12 QB's each year.

I think they thought they could at least get through this season before both veteran cornerbacks hit the downside of their careers.

We will have Isaiah Rogers off suspension next year, and they’ve been drafting/signing young CBs like lottery tickets hoping at least one turns out to be decent.

Early draft picks are going to be spent on the OLine (Lane replacement) and DLine.

I’d honestly get rid of both guys after the season. Slay is decent right now but it’s like sticking your hand in the piranha tank so many times on a close call. We’re getting to the point where “it’s just a scrap” turns into i just lost two fingers. Both need to be gone after the season. They need to trade for a CB and draft one. Give Rodgers and Ringo playing time and we need to see what Maddox can get us. Great slot guy but doesn’t matter the talent when you got availability issues at this level.

Also losing Zach McPherson who was suppose to be a back up CB hurt too.

Was watching the KC/Mia game and at the end Spags was bringing tons of heat to Tua. I understand wanting to keep things in front of you but that type of play style has been hurting us

I mean, he had to go on the road last season to San Fran. Not putting up big numbers in that situations isn't folding like a lawn chair, thats a damn good team. Previous year, they had to play SF, but Dallas did jack running the ball. Dak put up 'normal' numbers in that game? I mean he put up similar numbers in that game as Aaron Rodgers did against SF in the playoffs the following week. I'd say 'most' QB's put up better regular season numbers then in the playoffs, because every team you're playing then is simply a better then average team with everything on the line.

I’m with you, but I’m coming around. I want Buddy Ryan football from the Eagles- not Fangio. But, as much as I hate watching it and having heart attacks- they’re winning. “Yeah, but” doesn’t matter. They’re winning.

With that Offense, and the Dline, they are making teams go on long drives and string together solid plays- then hope the odds pay off and they can get pressure, or a penalty, or a turnover. It’s working. Yes, better teams (and Sam Howell) look like they are carving them up too easily. But, they are winning.

Now, regular season, I’m starting to be able to hold my nose and watch. But we saw last year in the Super Bowl, with a better D but a way worse Coordinator, how that kinda play can bite you in the keister. Desai has shown to be much better than Gannon (he took the bus to work and has a fire in his belly). He makes good adjustments at half and has done a low-key tremendous job working with the patchwork secondary.

For now, I’ll trust the team. But, in typical Philly fashion, I’ll dly out and riot on Broad St if it costs them again in the playoffs.

He’s not really great at the forgiveness thing. If you did it, you’re done. Sadly there’s many like that these days. Kids make bad decisions but it’s not a lifetime sentence.

This is the stuff we have to get away from. It’s almost like we don’t understand our team and its strength. Those teams HAVE to bring heat because the front 4 does not get it done. We have the best DL in the game. You play to your strength. When you have an asset like that, there’s no sense in sending extra guys a bunch and leaving your weakness on an island. When you finally blitz you catch the opponent off guard. Both Desai and Gannon played to the strength of the defense. Only difference is Desai is not the savior everyone made him to be. He’s just a worse Gannon so far or he’s Gannon from 2 years back.

I had a neighbor who’s daughter went there and was also at a party he attended with others. Micah was getting handsy with some girls including her friends. Johan Dotson was there it seemed like by himself talking to friends. Thank god he saw her and her friends as he came over and got Micah away. There was some back and forth with Micah acting like he did nothing wrong all while Dotson had his buddies escort my neighbors daughter and her friends home. They went to police the next day but as you can imagine the campus police don’t do a dam when it comes to issues with the football team. My neighbors daughter and her friends transferred shortly after that for the following semester ss they didn’t feel comfortable on campus.

Paterno ran a gang up there nothing more. I went to A rival HS when Dan Connor played football and then PSU. People always wondered why he and Paul Pozluzny couldn’t stay healthy. Well Connors was taking PEDs provided by his HS coaches back then. Then in College Paterno found out and found a much “safer way” for dan to acquire them. PP started using too. Unfortunately their bodies broke down from copious amount of riod usage.

These players buy into the cult ********. Look I’m not saying PSU is the only college wrong. I could go into FSU handling of Winston Rape case which was pretty sickening and the dude should be on the street not playing football at all. PSU given how long their issue last is lucky they were death penalty. I will also say we could hire private Investigatiors and the whole NCAA could probably be disbanded from what’s hidden.

If I was coaching I wouldn’t care who you are as a player. You do something like that good bye off the team these players need to be held accountable. Watching swamp Heros about Urban Meyers time at UF you do start to understand the challenges of this, as he had a player he kicked off the team early on who died of an OD. I get it you feel responsible for these kids who many come from a rough up bringing broken homes and communities but enabling that behavior doesn’t help them at all. You can help some of these kids all you want but if they don’t want to change themselves you aren’t at fault. That’s on them. Many UF fans condemned the behavior back then and still do of what happened under Urban. Difference between that and the PSU crowd was it was nothing but excuses for players. Always blaming the non athletes for the situations.

But at the sametime you can’t have your players running around campus like a bunch of wild animals doing whatever they want. I’m all for NCAA and Nfl implementing rules of off the field behavior where suspension can carry over to the nfl level. It also holds these kids accountable and they probably lose money with the fact because of that their draft stock falls. I’d also be for it on college coach’s so scumbags like Pete Carrol and Chip Kelly can’t go to the NFL as a safe haven from being punished for illegal activities and in fact with the Michigan investigation there’s talk if Harbaugh is suspended the NFL may not give him a safe haven and Levi that suspension too.

I haven’t liked the defense in yrs. Way too soft. Can’t stand the Fangio scheme. Not expecting blitz every play but they need to be way more aggressive. Hill dropped an easy 15-20 yds TD and another play as well so I don’t put much in “the defense held them” as much as I do Fins had chances and didn’t execute. That's very possible. I hate Gannon, and always will.

Desai, at least, makes adjustments in game. Gannon NEVER did. And Gannon had a better D, and a healthier D. Desai gets somewhat more of a pass because of all the injuries. And the fact that he's not Gannon.

OUr D-line actually had pressure on him all game long, he just kept flushing out of the pocket and buying time. What was odd was that most of the time once he flushed, he had clear grass to run or another couple of seconds before pressure found him again. Our D-line is terrific at collapsing the pocket....not so great chasing guys down.

Everyone keeps screaming to run the ball more, and in general I agree. BUT....we aren't the team that can line up and get 5 yards at will (at least, not lately). We were ineffective running the ball yesterday. Swift had like 2 ypc. When you're that ineffective, you CAN'T lineup and expect to get a first down running it when the whole world knows you need to burn clock. I was very frustrated with the offensive play calling late in that game. First down, 7 in the box and another creeping towards it...run a dive for 1 yard?! It was the PERFECT time for play action. Instead we went three and out...TWICE. This O line and RB room can dominate against mediocre to bad run Ds, but really struggles against the better ones. I'm not sure why. Jalen Hurts had 35 total touchdowns last year in 15 games played. Currently pacing for 41 total touchdowns, with 28 going through the air. Turnovers are up, and his YPA is down from 8.0 to 7.7, but he also is passing 15 more YPG and somehow just keeps getting more accurate (the biggest knock on him coming out was he wasn't accurate) - up 2.4 points to 68.9.

So in his 4 years this is his comp %

2020 - 52.0%
2021 - 61.3%
2022 - 66.5%
2023 - 68.9 (currently 6th in the NFL)

His passer rating is down to 97.0 (10th in the NFL), but that's to be expected with his 8 INTs.

Just can't say enough with how impressed I am with his development. He keeps grinding and grinding and improving every year.

If feel like Swift could be the lightning to some other running backs thunder. If only the Eagles had a guy sitting on the sideline that could be the thunder. Instead they want to continue to use Gainwell. Running requires commitment. It's like body blows in boxing, you don't see the effects until the 4th quarter (or the later rounds).

ETA: Also, the Eagles have pretty much scrapped the RPO. They are running it 50% less than last season and play action they are using about 40% less.

Look I think he's a really good player. I think if that is Jalen Hurts, he spins, cuts inside and rides the defender to the pylon more than trying to skirt around him. Maybe that's just me.

The Cowboys had 3 possessions inside the Eagles 30 in the 4th quarter. Guess how many points they scored? Zero. It all adds up to something, maybe its Dak isn't clutch/melts down on one end and the other end of the spectrum is "its a game of inches, just came up short, giving his all"

I'm more on the end where he just panics/doesn't execute in the clutch moments. We've seen quite a few examples. The scramble in the playoffs a few years back which lead to the clock running out (and him also trying to spot the ball himself). The back breaking INT's he had last year in the playoffs against SF. The fact he has the lowest passer rating THIS season when trailing. He is his 9th season and making these mistakes, seems to me he is what he is at this point. Romo 2.0 or McNabb without the playoff success. Both guys kinda choked in the big moments in their respective careers. IMHO

I assume the lack of RPO has to do at least somewhat to Hurts' nursing a sore leg. May not run it as often anyway with a new OC

That is fair. Also fair to keep in mind this was his 9th game ever calling plays at the level. I think we were all expecting some sort of bumps in the road. The situational playcalling, mainly, the lack of will or want to actually bleed the clock out late in games is what has been driving me over the edge. But I balance that out with the overall success we are having as an entire offense, the fact that other than turnovers (big number to disregard I acknowledge) Jalen still seems to be progressing. I can just hope they both grow together and keep improving overally. Time wil tell, and these next 5 games are going to big huge tests, especially the next one in Kansas City.

The bolded is where I stand. There are no "elite" teams this year, everyone unsurprisingly is dealing with injuries to their teams and overall of the "very good/not elite teams" we are the best.

Maybe I'm a little b****, maybe I need to "not be emotional" or "get thicker skin" but yeah man, you do that it isn't a fluky/luck/was the easiest schedule type of thing. One thing I think a lot of people do and I guess I get it, but they overlook how great Nick Sirianni is as a head coach, bc ya know "he's got the most punchable face in the NFL" - His career winning % thru 2.5 seasons is 72%. Good for 4th all time (yeah limited sample size etc). We got the perfect Coach/QB combo and perfectly fit for the city of Philadelphia. I'm enjoying the ride for sure.

It’s way more nuanced than that. Hell, Chip’s offense looked great and we could see it had flaws. Than came Doug and Wentz and we could see the flaws. You can see glaring flaws in Johnson’s game so far. That’s the thing…so far.

Him and Desai can both get better. We’ve played a lot of close games that didn’t need to be close because of the coordinators IMO. Our talent overcame their deficiencies and honestly yesterdays game was a perfect example.
