2023 Philadelphia Eagles - Complete waste of a season finally comes to an end. (6 Viewers)

I was so heated I turned the game off at the half, then tuned back in as Kelce fumbled.

I just knew we were gonna implode even more and lose 31-7 or something.

Call it luck or whatever but we keep finding ways to win.

Hurts did not play well, part of it isn’t his fault. However, he has shown to be clutch. He stepped up when he needed to.

Proud of my boys.

Hurts did not play well,
Disagree with this. The offensive line got OWNED in the first half by Jones and the KC defense. Hurts had no time for anything. The pick wasn't really even on him, but a miscommunication between him and Brown

I know we aren't getting the blowouts we were last year, but we're also defending NFC champs getting everyones best shot, while also playing a tougher schedule. What I'm VERY happy/impressed with is how they have been able to make adjustments. Last years team was TERRIBLE at adjusting when things went poorly. After getting schooled in the first half, they came out with a very different offensive mindset, the sacks went away, and they were able to make a couple of good drives to take the lead.

In the end it was a good team win on the road against a terrific opponent. Stats be damned, that was a terrific result and an impressive win

It's not really explainable. But man we have that **** that keeps on winning

just looking at things we do control rather than opponents or refs, the o-line struggled pretty mightily in the first half. Jalen got several good looks in the second half and I thought he played much better because of it.

that play where AJ decided to go upfield instead of running his route. on replay it looks like he had all kinds of grass in front of him even if he had taken the route he was suppose to run. That could have been 14-7 Eagles and a very different game.

our secondary or the scheme, not sure which, is still terrible and way too vulnerable. thank goodness the KC receivers can't catch, at least 2 drops I saw where the receiver was wide open in the middle of the field. feels like zero chance we beat KC or Dallas again if we don't fix this.

Buffalo passing game is much better next week. Good news is their Oline is not. Should get to Allen more than we did Mahomes. Disrupt Allen's timing and he will throw picks.

Boy, NFL schedulers really ****ed us.

Week 12 Thursday night game is SF vs Seattle. We play SF (in one of our biggest games of the year) the following week, week 13.

Week 13 Thursday night game is Seattle at Dallas. We play Dallas (the other biggest game of the year) in week 14.

So in back to back weeks, against our two toughest and most consequential opponents, they both are coming off 10-day long mini bye weeks.

This might be the hardest schedule I’ve ever seen for the eagles.
That's the price you pay when you are coming off the easiest schedule in professional sports history and this year we obviously have the refs paid off to make all the calls go our way.
It makes me feel good that you’ve finally realized these things
I actually paid some refs off personally myself.
Money well spent lol
I think so. Even more money well spent is the investment in the Chiefs WR's.

9-1, what else is there more to say though? Your team hasn't beat a single team with a winning record this year and this is our 4th.

We are not the same.

Good luck in that Commanders game this Thanksgiving though.

Sean Desai coached this defense up to allow zero points in the 2nd half against Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Jonny Boy Gannon allowed 24 2nd half points to Pat Mahomes and the Chiefs.

And we got a lesser defense than last year.

And if you are arguing that the difference is JuJu I'm muting you.

This team is special.

I will say we have some glaring issues in our DB’s and LB’s, however Desai is doing a decent job I’d say. I love the blitzing.

He is attempting to scheme to our strengths, which I can respect.

There are similarities to Gannon, but Desai at least attempts to switch things up.

I got a 7 day ban for asking about the niners thoughts. Just asked what moves they could make after losing 3 straight and maybe picking up Dobbs. But someone didn't like my words. Boo hoo. Made me sad. But I guess speaking your opinion is frowned upon nowadays. We got that something real here. all that said fly eagles fly. 9 and 1 haters

The Bills Oline is good, their problem is with Allen’s brain.

He doesn’t step up in the pocket anymore and doesn’t run. It is like he is thinking “don’t get hit…don’t get hit….don’t get hit”

Whether that is on him or coaching who knows, but not what can be running through your head playing QB in the NFL.

Hurts will have a field day against the Bills D, looks like two more defensive starters were lost last week, it will be a MASH unit on the back end.

I’ve basically been away for three years just returning to fantasy football this season. Please don’t tell me this board is “woke” now 🤣

No but they're very careful about not letting anyone offend anyone else from any angle. It's why the political forum is just gone now and any mention of anything possibly political is warned or deleted.

I can understand if you are directly attacking someone but posting a different opinion is trolling now? Getting close to leaving this board for good.

We might lose vs the bills but they are the most overrated team in the league this year. But who knows. Thanks for your thoughts

This is just going to be a theme all year (not directing it at you specifically) with Desai. People equate criticism of him with “we were better with Gannon” so they can’t say anything negative.

Desai dodged TONS of bullets last night because he “changed it up”. The MVS drop was one of the stupidest calls at that point in the game. Receivers were running open deep constantly last night. The KC WR’s were open constantly for huge gains AND we gave up like 200 yards on the ground too lol. Notice how the KC blitzes got home? Notice ours didn’t?

Him and Johnson after 10 games appear to be liabilities. Neither are anything to cheer about.

It's best to stay out of the 49ers thread. They are thin-skinned and if you point out any flaws in their players, they get upset. All they want is an echo chamber in there.

Eagles aren't losing to the Bills.

Last year's Gannon defense in the Super Bowl allowed Reid and Mahomes to score 24 points in the second half. Last night's Desai led defense gave up exactly 0 points after halftime. I don't see how he is a liability. I'm not super enamored with the constant screen passes behind the line of scrimmage and there were a bunch of weird slow developing draw plays at bad moments, but we're averaging 27.3 pts per game, which is 5th in the league (3 pts per game behind Miami.)

The Chiefs have scored zero points in the second half in the last three games. So that trend falls a bit on the Chiefs I think as much as the Eagles D.

If the Chiefs receivers can actually catch a pass I'm not sure the Eagles win last night.

But still, it's a good win for Philly. But they also have some things to clean up as they get close to the playoffs.

The Chiefs receivers lost the game but Mahomes also had a couple big misses in the 2nd half. The Eagles are a flawed team. Maybe even some major flaws that will eventually catch up to them. But I think every team in the league has major flaws. The one thing I’ll say about both the Eagles and Chiefs is that they have the potential to be great (both have great QBs, good offensive lines and can get pressure on the QB). Just haven’t seen the consistency all year. I wish I was a fan of either one of these 2 teams than the scrub of an organization that my team has turned into.

How many games change from year to year? Without looking I’m sure some team lost to a team this year they beat this year and the score was different. It means nothing.

Assuming we all watched the game we all saw the same ****. When he blitzes (less than Gannon) they don’t get home. Arguably the leagues worst WR’s were running free and open for what would have been big gains. Box score analysis is “he gave up 0 points and he’s awesome” plain and simple.

I think this year is just very different than in years past in that there’s not necessarily any dominant teams. Every team has flaws and the best team (us) has what looks to be big’ish ones.

It's The Andy Reid Special. The Eagles would have won 2-3 Super Bowls in the early 2000's if we ever had any WRs that were a threat. Remember T.O. and us going to the Super Bowl finally? That was the first year McNabb had any sort of decent WR.

Look up Justin Watson's career stats, then wonder "why was this the guy to target the most last night?" He is actually worst than Todd Pinkston...

True, but of course if we play the "if only these players did a better job" game we could do that for the plays the Eagles didnt excel at...

Jalen Hurts is the 4th QB since the 1970 merger to start 9-1 (or better) in B2B seasons.

He joined:

Peyton Manning
John Elway
Jim Kelly

Hurts is the youngest QB to ever do this.
He's pretty good man. Unflappable in the face of adversity. 13 games in a row beating teams with winning records and one of, if not *the* highest passer rating in the league when the team is trailing.

He also looked a little more spry with the legs last night too. Nice to see him get a bit healthier.

For the criticism that the Eagles coordinators get in here, why not praise for how prepared the team appears to be in the 2nd half of games? They keep pulling these wins out so I assume the coaches are making good adjustments at halftime.
Excellent 2nd half adjustments as well as in-game.

I just wish he could see the field like Mahomes.

Last night's 4th and 25 play gave me flashbacks to our 4th and 26. And they would have converted if Watson had held on to the ball.
