Holy crap, just saw the end to the Rockets/Nets game. Brutal ending for Houston. Up 4 with 7 seconds left a they lose.
Thought I saw this already in here, but couldn't find the post. Maybe I read it on ESPN?Breaking: The Milwaukee Bucks are trading Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson and a pick swap to the Washington Wizards for Kyle Kuzma, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and second-round draft compensation, sources tell ESPN.
For what? To do podcasts?Apparently the Warriors and Hawks have contacted the Sixers about Paul George.

I was just about to post the highlights. That really hurt to watch live. Great comeback by the Rockets with Sengun just dominating the Nets late (24 and 20) but then they just fell apart. I still don't know what Sheppard (he is a rookie and was on a roll tonight) but especially Jalen Green is thinking when you just have to burn clock there and you're a 30% shooter from deep. I really wish they would find a taker for Green. Such a frustrating player to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cZkzKocMSg

Just watched your link. Jacking up 3s in transition while up 5 and 35 seconds remaining. Classic modern NBA. So poor.
I was a bit off. They were up 4 with 1:02 min to go when I think Sheppard jacks it from 3 in transition. They were in a 4 on 1. Just a dumb shot. ETA ... then Green ariballs it from 3 with 55 seconds left. Another PoS shot. Are you sure you watched the link?Holy crap, just saw the end to the Rockets/Nets game. Brutal ending for Houston. Houston didn't go up 5 until there were 18 seconds left in the game and they did so by Sengun making 2 free throws
Congrats on getting the 9th pick in the 2025 draft!Portland didn't just win last night, they beat the BRAKES off Indy.
What is happening? This wasn't how it was supposed to go. At all. And yet, I like it. I'm so confused.

I'm trying to come up with a bet. I'm looking for an excuse to drink some of those IPAs you've been touting!Congrats on getting the 9th pick in the 2025 draft!Portland didn't just win last night, they beat the BRAKES off Indy.

Wait, no!

Celtics traded Jaden Springer and a 2030 2nd to HOU for a 2nd. Saves BOS over $15M in tax.
Want to explain this a little more? The NBA is starting to lose me much in the same way college football did with NIL money.
Middleton doesn't really seem to have a lot left in the tank. Good move for the Bucks to add a former (Rising Stars) MVP.Breaking: The Milwaukee Bucks are trading Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson and a pick swap to the Washington Wizards for Kyle Kuzma, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and second-round draft compensation, sources tell ESPN.
Kuz was actually a pretty good guy in the community here, but he certainly doesn't fit into WAS plans. Not sure Middleton does either. At least he went to UVA so there's a chance he will want to show up and play. I assume we really made this move to get AJ Johnson. (and to ensure we suck enough to maybe get Cooper Flagg)
I'm surpirsed nobody is asking about Kispert. The guy is an underrated player overall. Not just for shooting. 25 years old. Feel bad for him being stuck in this mess. Could be a good 7th man elsewhere
Damn we suck.![]()

Because of:
One of those new [CBA] rules is the “freezing” of a first-round pick seven years in the future if a team ends any season over the second apron. The freezing of a pick means a team cannot trade that pick and the freezing event starts a four-year clock. To unfreeze (thaw?) that pick, the team with the frozen pick needs to finish at least three of the next four seasons below the second apron. If that team finishes any two of those four seasons over the second apron, the pick becomes permanently frozen, which means it can never be traded and drops to No. 30 in that season’s draft.
If the Bucks fail to chop that $6.5-ish million from their salary-cap table by the end of the season, their 2032 first-round pick would be frozen until at least the end of the 2027-28 season. And it would only
become unfrozen at that point if the Bucks manage to stay below the second apron in the next three seasons.
. . .
Much has been made of the Bucks’ inability to aggregate contracts to obtain a player with a larger salary than one of their own players, but that is only a portion of the rules surrounding aggregating salaries in the new CBA. While in many cases aggregating salaries or trading multiple players in the same deal could be illegal, the Bucks would be allowed to make such a deal if the result of that trade brought them under the second apron.
But even that “loophole” is more complicated than it initially appears. If the Bucks were to aggregate salaries to get a deal done this trade deadline, they also need to be able to legally fill a roster for the rest of the season.
For example, if the Bucks were to put together a three-for-one deal, they would need to make sure they got far enough below the second apron to add at least one player on a minimum contract for the remainder of the season to satisfy NBA rules regarding roster size. The NBA requires teams to have at least 14 players on their active roster, with only a two-week grace period to field 13 players.
Therefore, it is not impossible for the Bucks to trade for a player with a salary over $40 million, but it will be complicated. Realistically, the only way to construct a legal deal that accomplishes that goal is by including two of Middleton ($34,000,001), Lopez ($23,000,000) or Portis ($12,578,286) in a larger package.
(Note: Middleton’s salary figure in trades will be his apron salary of $34,000,001 rather than what will end up being his cap hit ($31,666,667) at the end of the season. Because of the games Middleton has missed, he will not capture many of his bonuses this season, but his apron salary still accounts for those bonuses, likely and unlikely, in a midseason trade.)
I think it's a feature, not a bug, that a team that has $150m/year tied up in 3 players has to make some really difficult roster building decisions. Some excerpts from a really neat article in the Athletic about the Bucks situation. The NBA, its FANtastic!

We aren't talking good vs bad, we are talking GOAT. The #1.Decision didn't really bother me, but I made some good $$$ on that one when off-shore books were taking bets on where he would land.....sure seems petty to hold that against a man.
He reached the NBA finals at age 22 with garbage around him. Took Jordan until age 27 and he had one of the NBAs best side-men next to him in Pippen.
He could be the NBA MVP every year, but whatever.
Sucks that he's the only player in NBA history that has ever flopped. Got us there.
It's a joke. Lighten up, Francis"societal harm" huh.....Goodness.
Or the trade for him anyway.Shams just said Durant doesn’t want to go to GS. I guess that dream is dead.

He's waiting to make his way to the Wolves this offseason.Shams just said Durant doesn’t want to go to GS. I guess that dream is dead.
In addition to all that, he played pretty well on defense too last night.
If you're right, you'd win a prospective bet against me easily. Maybe I should withdraw my offer.I think the Blazers are trading for KD since he likes winners and they're the hottest team in basketball right now. Chasing Chips here in Portland.

Also Bron’s kid hit an NBA 3-pointer the same day yellow eye’s kid got busted for coke. Not the same.
He 100% has his burner Twitter account fired up this week.Durant was probably on Twitter and reading all the bad comments about him possibly going back and changed his mind.
I guess his contract is too big to be bought out, but it'd be nice to see him be able to try and contribute off of someone's bench rather than wasting away the rest of his career in Washington.Middleton going to Washington is a sad ending for him, imo
