2024-25 NBA Thread: Stephen A leading ESPN’s draft coverage by yelling about players he’s never heard of until now (144 Viewers)

Not a lot of defense tonight so far

This pace favors the Pacers and their depth. (See what I did there!)
The Knicks can score - more worried about their defense with Brunson and Towns. I don’t mind the pace.

It isn't they can't score. They only go seven deep. This pace game after game will wear them down more than the Pacers.
I understand but I am happy with a shoot out.

Pacers +700 to win it all......yes please.

Best player?

Yup, I don't give 2 poops what you, voters, writers or anybody else says, the best player remaining in the NBA playoffs is Tyrese Haliburton. I'd take him 1.01 over all the rest.

He's going to take over H2 and win this. Playoff Tyrese is about to launch.

Hello, exactly!

Carlisle >>>>> Thibs.

It's not even debatable.

I agree, but Thibs did rest Brunson a lot that second quarter. Pretty crazy for Thibs

Plus KAT got some rest on the bench. He isn't able to get stupid fouls from there

He might try.

Best player who's been voted most overrated by his peers.

Best coach. Probably
Best player? 4th at best SGA, Brunson and Ant are all ahead of Haliburton and I really like him.
Best team is still OKC

I am rooting for the Pacers and even if they play OKC I think they have a chance.

SGA’s free throw rate is not even that high, it’s not even top 10 for MVP seasons this century. He gets a lot of hate because the Reddit/twitter hive mind is a bunch of moronic teenagers cosplaying as experts and because the Thunder are so aggressive on defense it feels inconsistent. I happen to think the Thunder do a great job of playing aggressive defense without fouling a ton but I get where that frustration comes from. Then you have Dort out there who is a true flopper (on defense) and it takes teams above the boiling point. I hope they trade Dort this offseason, I am done with him.
I’m sorry I don’t care who wins this series at all but he is absolutely flopping out there. I don’t even go on twitter that much anymore, I watched that game with my own two eyes.
For sure, and I said as much, I’m just saying he’s far from the only one and the rate at which he shoots free throws is much lower than you’d think. Some of the calls from last night are squarely on the refs imo. The really soft call on Ant where Shai hit the bank shot - it didn’t even look like he was trying to sell contact on that one, he just jumped away from Ant to get space to shoot. The refs need to be better as well and I’m sure they’ll let Minnesota be more physical next game.

If you ever want to feel good about the discourse in this thread go read some nba content on reddit, it’s wild.

Am I the only person that thinks Reggie Miller over exaggerates every foul?

That is the fourth foul on KAT and we only have two minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Can I interest you in a Michael Porter Jr?

SGA and Jokic swept the 1st/2nd place votes, only the 2nd time that's happened (2019). 71/29 split, so it ended up not being very close. Giannis was 3rd on 88/100 ballots.
