2024-25 NBA Thread: Jimmy Butler demands trade to team with good culture (8 Viewers)

Nice W for CLE. I did not have them at the beginning of the season as the best team in the NBA but here we are. Would love to see these two play in the Finals with a healthy Chet.

I think the Cavs had to win this one because they play again next week and I think it will be almost impossible for them to beat them in OKC.

Cavs win 129-122 vs #1 D in the league and that is with Mitchell going 3/16 from the field. Go figure. I remember Stephen A kept saying how Mitchell would never sign an extension with Cleveland he was spewing that for years.

OKC-Cleveland lived up to the billing last night, that was incredible. Cavs are so good on offense and have so much versatility. Since the return date is so soon we're not going to see Chet against the Cavs which is a bummer.

I am putting the cart about 20 miles in front of the horse on this one but if I am the Thunder and thinking about potential finals matchups, I'd much rather see Boston than Cleveland or Milwaukee.

I'm envious - it'd be so much fun to be a Thunder fan right now. Hope you guys are enjoying it.

Yeah it’s been a fun season. I’m not a title or bust type of fan, but the Thunder have kinda been here before and nothing came of it, so I hope Presti goes all-in this year and next and cashes in some of those draft assets.

Boston has another gear than what they are showing now and are absolutely coasting through the regular season.

For some games sure. I just like the matchup better for the Thunder, the size of those other two teams is a real problem. Defending wings is not an issue for the Thunder, Dort took Brown completely out of that game in the second half last week.

Also love their depth versus a top heavy team like Boston.

Wemby demanding attention in the first quarter.

Turrible effort tonight.

I think Giannis defense had something to do with Wembys effort. Giannis was extremely energized in that matchup and Wemby seemed worn down in the second half.
Wemby seemed a little disinterested too. A little (not a lot) of bulk will serve him well.

Playoffs are different. Boston got it done with this exact team and we aren't even halfway through the regular season.
BOS has only had their starting 5 play together in 12 games for a total of 206 minutes. Their net rating when playing together this year is +22.7. They just need to work on staying healthy.

Turrible effort toniYes no?
Is this what the Spurs are wearing now? Turrible.
Those are their ####ty edition unis. League's worst.

Hadn't seen much of the Spurs in years, so was a little taken aback by what they were wearing considering their traditional unis are some of the best in the Association (IMO). Classic.

OKC destroying the Knicks in their own house. It wasn't long ago the Knicks odds to win the title were better than the Cavs and I am only talking a few weeks ago. Cavs are barely favored over them right now.

Celtics going through the motions at home this year or what ? They are about to lose their 7th home game and this one to the Kings ?

Didn't see the game but the recap said they were outhustled to loose balls all night. Sabonis set a career high in rebounds and Tatum had 8 turnovers. Sounded like an effort issue.

early returns on firing Mike Brown have been shockingly good (Keon Ellis started and they won a tough game? who could have seen this coming??). hopefully this isn't just short-term new coach energy they are playing with.

It was an execution issue and a bit of bad bounces. Boston couldn’t make a shot. The rebounds kept coming off right to the Kings. They played decently defensively, and per the norm, forced past second heaves at the end of the clock. But they couldn’t get a rebound, and the Kings would end up scoring anyway.

Of definite concern was they had big issues in the paint on both sides of the ball. When things didn’t work out as schemed, JT and JB would play hero ball and turn the ball over. They also had big issues with Monk one on one with a big. He would drive to the basket, and either get a basket, an and one, or an easy put back.

They really get in trouble when they can’t make threes. They are long overdue to have stretch where they start clicking and go back to scoring 130 points. For now, they are getting open looks and aren’t making many.

No thank you we have enough good teams in the West please go away.

Ideally move him before deadline or release him this offseason.

Toxic. You can't rebuild with that in the room. They've got a whole 191 games in 6 years in his physical prime. Someone else will take a shot.

Pellies are staring at a franchise player in a loaded draft. Grab some complimentary parts around that.

They absolutely should blow it up. I'd have paid Ingram before Zion but whatever. They were smart enough to structure Zions deal with those outs so they've got that going for them I guess.

I think a contender might jump in the fray after Zion misses enough games this season to where they can get out after this season. I think Zion needs to be viewed as a year to year rental at this point.

Herb Jones out too. What a nightmare season.

Frost - if memory serves you are a Wolves fan correct?

I’m headed to the Wolves / Warriors game this coming Wednesday. Neither team looks great right now, but hoping for a good game.

Never thought I would say it but Russell Westbrook was a great signing. As a starter, he's averaging 15/7/8 on .596 TS% in 16 games. He hasnt been able to carry the bench independently but he has been a legitimate difference maker otherwise.
He’s been great for them. One thing that I really like about him is that even when he’s having a “bad” game—he’s still bringing consistent maximum energy regardless. I think the Nuggets need his energy and pace. I think that Murray is a really good player but I find him to be very hot or cold both in regards to his streakiness and his energy. I think the addition of Russ really helps neutralize those games where Murray isn’t one of his hot streaks.

Should be a good and fun game. Wolves have been playing well recently. Usually these two teams play fun games.

Anthony Edwards got called for a technical tonight for flexing after a dunk.

It was a Rudy Gobert dunk.

Ant was on the bench.

What.

I hate the overreaction of refs the past few years. Let these guys show some emotion and celebrate/talk smack a little. It's like the NBA is trying to cut off any entertaining elements of the game.
