Jake Burnstwo more DTs, these two sound like dart throws, but Berry does occasionally hit on these signings
I am hopeful that Winfrey turns out to be that guy. He seems to fit Schwartz's attacking scheme.Jake Burnstwo more DTs, these two sound like dart throws, but Berry does occasionally hit on these signings

I am not moved by either Maurice Hurst or Trysten Hill. Both have had massive injury issues. Fine to create some camp competition. At best they are guys who fight to be the one who ends up getting 150 snaps for the year. They still need another serious DT of some kind.
i think they have done a nice job so far this off season, but here's a few things i hear a lot of people still have concerns about on this team:Okay. So, last year the defense was overly complicated on the back end & unable to stop the run. In theory, changes have been made to fix those problems. O-line looks great. The running game should continue to excel. The passing game should improve. What is it that my rose-colored glasses are obscuring?
nice! i'm sure both Stefanski and Watson are happy with this signing, and it was pretty cheap to boot.Browns sign Watson’s former tight end according to his agent
NFL free agency continues for the Browns with the addition of Jordan Akins
...provides Cleveland with a redzone threat at 6’4” and over 240 pounds.
All while catching passes from D. Mills, who ranked 30th in EPA/dropback. Familiarity with Deshaun Watson a plus.
In the 2023 NFL if your biggest problem is depth then you're in good shape.i think they have done a nice job so far this off season, but here's a few things i hear a lot of people still have concerns about on this team:Okay. depth - i actually agree with this one. i think on paper, the Browns have a nice team, but they appear pretty shallow
WR - general feeling is that they need at least one more WR, preferably someone with deep speed to open up defenses.
LB - lot's of guys (if they bring them back) coming back from injury
S - depth?
CB - do they have a true nickel corner?
DE - do they have a true bookend to Garrett?
DT - do they have enough players to stop the run?
RB - is Ford good enough to back up Chubb? they went from having a lot of RB depth to not much at all.
QB - who's the backup?
no team is perfect, but they do have plenty of holes. hopefully they do better than last year, and they can keep adding pieces next off season.
Some think we're fine, others think we're not doing enough.WR - general feeling is that they need at least one more WR
Brandin Cooks Acquired by Cowboys in Trade DealI've never been on board with Cooks. Been with a slew of teams and its never worked out. Not a fan.
I was listening to that and it's amazing how they can slam this line up out of one side of their mouth and then say this with confidence in the WR room out of the other. There is nothing about that line up that strikes any kind of fear into me if I'm going up against the Browns. They're serviceable but they won't all stay healthy this year so if Cooper is out significant time, how confident are you on someone from that roster is stepping up to WR1? I can tell you my level is a little above zero. Depth in the draft is fine but how many WR's make that first year jump into a serviceable WR? Bell didn't. Think we could use another veteran in the room but I don't know where he's coming from.Cooper - WR1 Safe
DPJ - slots as WR2 right now, getting better every year, Safe
Bell - would've liked more out of him his rookie year, but showed some signs of life, Safe
Jakeem Grant - Injured for 2022, they're bringing him back to be the return guy, Safe

We 'can' afford Mecole.https://dawgpounddaily.com/posts/mecole-hardman-good-fit-cleveland-browns
my guess is that he's going to end up costing too much for the Browns to get him.

That's fair and I expect Watson to be more of what we expected we were getting than what we saw last year.i will add though, when you construct a roster, unless you're really good at drafting, you just can't be strong in every position group.
imo, the point of having a franchise QB is that he is able to elevate the play of the WRs.
so i'm not really going to pound the table and demand they spend more resources on receivers, even if i'm not completely sold on the guys they have.
No.is there room for a true #2?
Yes.or a guy to fill the role Schwartz was drafted for?
I expect them to conduct their due diligence at tackle and versatility will be a priority.I'm starting to sour on Jed Wills. Anybody think they should use resources to draft a replacement?
i expect them to pick up the 5th year option and draft a replacement in the first round next year.I'm starting to sour on Jed Wills. Anybody think they should use resources to draft a replacement?
Big fan of his pre-season play, not so much his in season play but if we need him for than a series, we're screwed anyhow so come on down!
other than a few nice scrambles, i don't remember much about his play last year.Big fan of his pre-season play, not so much his in season play but if we need him for than a series, we're screwed anyhow so come on down!

Nice add. He is someone I really like and wanted the Steelers to trade for him.Welcome to Cleveland Elijah Moore!!!!
Great!Welcome to Cleveland Elijah Moore!!!!
You can scrap everyone after Amari Cooperthey were running down the WRs this morning on 92.3
Cooper - WR1 Safe
DPJ - slots as WR2 right now, getting better every year, Safe
Bell - would've liked more out of him his rookie year, but showed some signs of life, Safe
Jakeem Grant - Injured for 2022, they're bringing him back to be the return guy, Safe
that's 4 slots, leaving probably two left?
Woods - drafted in the 6th round last year, they probably want to see what they have in him
Schwartz - i would have to assume they're pulling the plug on this experiment, just can't seem to catch a football
there's a couple other guys on the roster i don't know much about.
is there room for a true #2, or a guy to fill the role Schwartz was drafted for?
sure there is, but i don't know if the Browns have the inclination or money to make a whole lot happen here.

Elijah Moore just ascended to WR 2 on this team and I expect him to elevate past Cooper quickly.
#34 overall pick, was being held back in New York
2nd chances on rookie deals to prove themselves, doesn't happen often and he's landed into an ideal spot for where he's at right now.
And he has the next 5 months to get the timing down with Watson, excellent move for Cleveland
Moore was the #1 trade target in this article from a few days ago.
I would say crappy QB, and a superior talent in Wilson pushed him down the pecking order. He needed a new start and got it.You can scrap everyone after Amari Cooperthey were running down the WRs this morning on 92.3

after hearing all the Jerry Jeudy talk around town the last few days, i'm a bit relieved to hear they went with Moore.
the price certainly seems more reasonable, and they have him on rookie salary for two years.
what really happened with Moore in New York anyway?
Good move for all involved. Seemed to me like he might have been holding himself back a bit, but he gets a fresh start.#34 overall pick, was being held back in New York

He wins where DPJ doesn't. They'll compliment each other well.heard a quick snippet today that the Browns were trying to get Moore at the trade deadline last season.
they must really like Moore and/or really think the Jets don't know what they're doing.
i know some people have been complaining about giving up the 42nd pick, but this has the potential to be a very good trade.
5th wr with a wildly different skill set than Bell and can serve as the #4 if Bell doesn't develop.https://brownswire.usatoday.com/2023/03/24/nfl-free-agency-browns-sign-marquise-goodwin/
what do you guys think of this signing?
no contract terms yet that I’ve seen.
