****2024 Kansas City Chiefs Thread - Two Time Defending Super Bowl Champs**** (1 Viewer)

Harrison Butker was perfect as usual. Dude hit all 15 of his 40+ FGs this year including the longest SB FG ever of 57. 44/46 on the year while making all 46/46 XPs. He’s on a HOF trajectory who doesn’t make the pro bowl ever because Tucker GOAT is the AFC kicker every year.

From what I saw, Tucker looks like he's losing it a bit.

Still looks like just a dispute between a few people at the parade and not a calculated and planned thing. The good thing is the suspects are in custody so maybe we can get some answers here. Thanks to all who kept the other thread civil and I'm sad for those who did not.

Just wanted to post an update.
 
So, when all of this went down a lot of people rushed into Union Station, which was where the players and their families were hanging out as kind of a secure area. There are many stories coming out now how Chiefs players, coaches, and personnel were helping get people to safety and consoling them.

I am kind of feeling T. Boyd.....visions of him manning the slot with solid hands and helping to move the chains and take some heat of Kelce in the middle.....with maybe Rice and a rookie or someone like Samuel out wide...

Yeah, maybe he should be farther up that list ahead of Brown.

wonder what Samuel and Boyd want.....with Brown in tow can we afford one of them too...?......Rice/Brown/Samuel.....or Rice/Brown/Boyd sounds pretty solid.....then they could go BPA in the draft.....Watson and Moore as WR4 and 5 is fine with me....

Samuel went to the Bills yesterday.
 
Not many people know this, but that one time the Chiefs didn’t make the Super Bowl was when that Aaron Donald guy won his ring. That was a rough patch for us guys.
 
How serious is this Rashee Rice situation for the Chiefs this year? He's definitely gonna miss some games. Would they release him? This was a very bad look. Are they gonna draft a WR at 32?

Chiefs DE Isaiah Buggs is facing two misdemeanor warrants issued by Tuscaloosa police for second-degree cruelty to dogs. Buggs is accused of leaving two dogs locked on his property with no access to food or water.
 
"The petition goes on to say that when TPD and the City of Tuscaloosa's Animal Control officers arrived, they found a grey and white pitbull on the screened-in back porch surrounded in feces, with no access to food or water.

Those responding reported finding a black Rottweiler mix locked in a metal cage in direct sunlight with no access to food or water.

The petition said the dogs were seized on March 28 due to both being severely "malnourished, emaciated and neglected."

The residence also appeared to be abandoned at the time of the initial call, the petition said.

A neighbor also told police that the dogs had been on the back porch for at least 10 days.

Investigators found that the house, which is owned by Omega Reality Group, was being rented to Buggs, who reportedly owns Kings Hookah Lounge on Greensboro Avenue in Tuscaloosa.

Police reported that his lease was terminated on April 15 due to owing $3,116.90 in back rent, with witnesses saying that Buggs had moved out of the house on or about March 19.

The pitbull was euthanized in April by Tuscaloosa County Metro Animal Shelter after becoming increasingly aggressive and failing heartworm treatment at the shelter.

The civil petition against Buggs says the black Rottweiler mix tested positive for Parvo and only weighed 52 pounds when it arrived at the shelter — a dangerously low weight for that kind of dog breed."

Projected returning starter, he was told he'd be a healthy scratch Opening Night v the Chiefs

Eventually he played 10 g as a rotational player, much less effective than the prior year, cut in December

Chiefs signed him to the Practice Squad Week 18, he was inactive for both playoff games, active for the Super Bowl but never played a snap (IIRC he only suited up bc Toney was out)

Chiefs DL Isaiah Buggs was arrested and booked earlier today on charges of second-degree domestic violence with a burglary designation, according to

This is the second off-the-field incident for Buggs, who is also facing two misdemeanor warrants for second-degree cruelty to dogs.

Is this a good time to point out that despite all these crazy off season distractions that the Chiefs are likely on the upswing?
B2B Championships after they traded their star skill man at WR, Tyreek Hill.

I could argue the Chiefs are likely getting better and they have invested heavily into the defense the last couple off seasons and Drafts, Spags is working miracles on the defensive side
My larger point is I don't see the Chiefs in any way weaker than last season, if nothing else they might be even stronger when they get to Dec/Jan and isn't that all that really matters for Patrick Mahomes and that Dad Bod he likes to sport around the beach?

So go ahead and kick them and call them...actually I'm kind of offended by the term "POS Franchise", think that's a pretty low blow for what they have put together over the last 5-6 years.
This is a Dynasty that isn't quite finished yet, in fact we might be right in the middle of it with their ability to reload as a franchise and keep squeezing out Lombardi Trophies

This is a good first step, but lets be honest, he wasn't very good, so that played into it.. Why don't they cut Rice, or almost killed someone, got arrested, and then assaulted someone a few days later.

Yep, my thought's exactly. Basically, if you're any good you get a pass and if you're not then out the door you go unless the infraction is so egregious (i.e. murder, rape, etc...) they would be forced to let him go due to public outcry. The Chiefs - and any team for that matter - need to be consistent in their stance. I think Rice's actions were just as egregious as Buggs'.

all other 31 teams would be handling the Rice thing the exact same way right now....

many posters let their hate for a team come out in their posts....sometimes passive aggressively, sometimes not so much....when you are on the top, people will jump on every opportunity and any little crumb of bad press and try to exaggerate it to make themselves feel better (or better about their crappy team) ......and try to throw as much shade as possible on that top team....it's easy to see when that is happening and often not worth the effort to respond to....
