DJ Glaze didn't have a bad rep till they moved him to LT later. Can't wait to see his next game.
Byron Young looks like a UDFA. He is quicker off the ball than Tyree
Tyree is absolutely faster off the ball than last year, and he's so strong he doesn't really go anywhere he doesn't want to go. But there's no pass rush plan. No urgency

But the reason why non-Raiders fans are projecting the Raiders to finish at or below .500 looks to be odds on favorite: the Raiders have a QB battle happening between 2 backup-level QBs.
I hope I’m pleasantly surprised this year, but once again setting my expectations to the appropriate gut wrenching “close but not good enough” level for the season.

The Raiders don’t have a true starting QB. The playoffs are not happening until that huge issue is fixed. The D should keep them in games but the defense will be on the field a lot. Once the D is gassed, games are going to get away from LV.
The big decision for LV is Adams. It is the correct decision to move to obtain draft capital to build a team.

Ye of Been There, Done That…too many times in the past 2 decades.
My fingers and toes are crossed either way, and I’m along for the ride for better or worse.
We are building a top third D, and we have offensive weapons that are top 3rd as well imho.
But we’re bottom 5 in the most important position on the field. Wasting the Adams/Meyers/Bowers/Mayer/Turner combo. Especially Adams.

It’s a process. Wasting early draft picks for decades (and most draft picks many years) has set the Raiders back year after year. 2024 looks the first solid draft in years and if they can stay on course, playoffs will happen.
As you pointed out, most pieces are in place, except for QB. Unfortunately, finding a playoff-caliber QB is quite challenging.

No doubt. However one of the main pieces in Adams is likely on his way out after this year (If not mid-season) if we are only at 2/3 wins imo.
It's so disappointing hearing all the rumors of ZIegler having a package to move up to #2 for Stroud, but JMD axed it beforehand. It's ironic how if Josh allowed the trade to happen, we have our QBOTF secured and Josh/ZIegler are likely still here.

That decision perfectly encapsulates Mork’s tenure as the owner of the team. If there is an opportunity to make a poor decision, he will seize it.
I know there is a lot of optimism in this thread (hey, we are undefeated), but I think it is going to be a long season.
Sure the defense looks to be very good, but if the offense flounders exhaustion will get the better of the defense. Then the team is dependent on Minshew.

As an outsider Minshew at least is a guy who will (and probably has) embraced that old Raiders mystique. It's pretty clear that Antonio Pierce is all about that, and now his quarterback will exude that confidence and swagger for the offense that the defense clearly has done already.
As a Chiefs fan Minshew scares me way more than AOC. Minshew can get that team to believe and actually give a damn about being a Raider again. Plus he can play loose and free. A dangerous combo in my opinion.

The Sea of Hands game is 50 years old this year. Watched it on a black and white TV set in my bedroom in Nebraska. Still the best game I've ever seen considering the stakes (the winner was going to the Super Bowl of course 
) and the opponent.

Jack Jones looks like he is established. I was a little concerned he just got on a run late last year, but he looks like a good starter.
Tyree Wilson's get off matches his teammates. He embarrassed himself on that bootleg, but I think he is improved. Right now, all he is, is really strong. Has no moves.
Getsy called more bootleg than anyone last year, and 10th most play action. Looking forward to the two TE sets.

a guy I knew, that had a suite in Oakland for ever, was good friends with Cliff. Every game I went to in Oakland I’d end up in my boys suite at some point during the game. Cliff was often there. Dude could not have been nicer. I have a raider hat that he signed on one of those days. It’s the one I wear to games.

If I tell the Mrs I have Yet Another fantasy draft next week, we might need to start a “anyone have a couch I can sleep on?” Thread in the SharkPool.
