Ian Rapoport
@RapSheet

"#Giants QB Drew Lock is dealing with a bad bone contusion and strained oblique from last night’s preseason game, sources say. He’s expected to miss some time, but no surgery is required.

Coach Brian Daboll said NYG could potentially add another QB with Lock sidelined a bit."
Tom Brady
Ryan Tannehill is available
Boomer ,Eli and Phil are already in New York

Nobody got seriously hurt yesterday,

Cheers.

Not playing Daniel Jones was a stupid decision that apparently they didn't learn from 2-3 preseasons ago.

They didnt play any of their Starting Oline and jones is only 9 months removed from ACL Surgery.
Plus they just had 2 pretty intense Team practices with Detroit and Jones took every 1st team rep
I dont think this is the same situation as previos years

Giants' Evan Neal activated from PUP, returns to practice

@JordanRaanan

Rookie RB Tyrone Tracy just went down untouched on a kickoff return. Cart is out and they are putting on an air cast.

WTF !!!! Giants are taking on tons of injuries all of a sudden
  • Nabers - Ankle expects to be ready week 1
  • Tracy Jr - Major Injury
  • Runyan - leaves with a shoulder injury
  • Kubas - left practice sidelined similar to Runyan
  • Cager - Groin
  • Dante “Turbo” Miller - Hamstring tightness
  • Tyree Jackson (back),
  • Dru Phillips - has been out of practice the last two days
  • Dyontae Johnson - Sprained Ankle
  • Gervarrius Owens missed practice Sunday due to a knee injury
  • Flott - Quad Injury
  • Drew Lock - Hip

How is Daniel Jones one of their healthiest guys?

Nabers is going to be a stud. Looks pretty good even though Jones is kind of raggedy today. Really nice catch a long the sideline going up and over Kris Boyd and keeping his feet in. Also made a nice grab going toward the sideline earlier on a throw up and behind him. Thought he had a step on Derek Stingley on a go route, took a pop from Jimmie Ward coming over to help as he tried to corral the throw.

Singletary may be a nice value for zero-RB drafters. Judging by this game, it seemed like he dominated work with the first team. Scored a short TD after a completion to Hyatt inside the 5.

So the preseason games are over, the cuts have been made.
I'm a glass half full kinda guy.
What do you think are the POSITIVES you got from the last few weeks?
If you have NEGATIVES please save them for another post.

I'll start with an obvious one,at least to me....Malik Nabors is a stud

  • RBs look good
  • Oline looks better and deeper
  • Brian Burns
  • WRs look deeper

I would think it's a huge improvement over what they have now ... until he get's injured

Week 1 defense leads the way:

Giants- 23
Vikings- 16

Boyz lose in Cleveland
Pheagles lose in Brazil
Commies lose in Tampa

Sunday Night NFC East: Giants 1-0
Pheagles 0-1
Boyz 0-1
Commies 0-1

Let’s shock the world. The D should be better, right?
The D will be better
The O line is better, not saying they're great, but they will be better
No Barkley,ok bye-bye,fwiw Singletary's numbers aren't horrible.
No Waller,ok bye-bye put the rookie in and let's see what he's got
Malik? No more needs to be said. He'll command attention which should give Slayton,Hyatt and Robinson more room to run.
Daniel? Well it looks like he's healthy,so there's that.Obviously he needs to deliver this year.
If he flops? Drew?
I see more posititves with this season about o begin than what we saw when last season ended.

First half observation
  • Giants might actually be worse then ever
  • Jones is shell shocked ... Cant throw beyond the line of scrimmage and it's safe to say his Giants career is over
  • Oline still sux ... patially because of jones
  • Haven't solved the Punt returner issues in 3 years
  • Banks is overatted as hell ...in fact he kinda sux
  • Theo Johnson - Is terrible and wont be on the field much longer ... he has the catch agility of an Olineman
  • Malik Nabers adjusted numbers - 700 yds 2 Tds for the season
  • Hopefully Daboll already realizes that it's not Kafka it's him ... may as well give the job back and stop taking stupid delay of game and too many men on the field penalties
And finally ... Darnald may very well be the greatest QB ive ever seen

  • Haven't solved the Punt returner issues in 3 years - But they no longer return punts ... only kickoffs

Nope. Not worth watching. Nothing has changed. Annoyed I wasted the time. Any good feelings from a great opening defensive series were erased with that 99 yard drive.

QB - F
Oline - D-
RB -D
TE - D
WR - D
CB - D
D - D-
Coaching - F

Darnald was 13-13 at one point
Giants had at least 5 dropped passes

Yep this ! I was pissed that I wasted my time and got in a really bad mood and stayed in on a beautiful day
And then I read that Daboll never even considered benching Jones which pissed me off even more

Jones will get a season ending injury at some point ensuring that the Giants will have to pay his salary in 2025
And the Giants will win just enough games 3-4 to make sure that they do not get the top draft pick

Daboll , Schoen and Jones should be gone next year

Have to say, daboll taking over the play calling was supposed to open up the offense… if anything I thought it was even more conservative than last year.

ETA: and they are on track for another 85 sack year.

Not only that but they had a delay of game and a 12 (13) men in the huddle which is 100% on Daboll

O.K.
I gave Schoen a few mulligans since he was hired,
But I'm done
This team doesn't look any different than the last few years
The play today was disgusting
Wake me up when this regime is gone
Fire them all
Bring Darth Bill home

I'm tired. I'm tired of being one of the only ones who realize maybe signing Jones and letting all those other guys go because they signed Jones has killed this team's future. Daboll with the lifeless mechanical press conference after the game; he wanted to call the plays and emasculate Mike Kakfa, good luck out there. Almost the exact lifeless comments Daniel Jones postgame: Monotone. No substance. The same old “I gotta play better. Gotta watch the tape. See what I can do better.”

Jesus tapdancing mother of GOD, it's Year 6 of the Daniel Jones Experience. YEAR 6! Get the f*ck out of here with these rookie comments. The same guy he was 2-3 years runnign the same popgun, hold-my-hand offense. The only difference is the D is younger and not as good, and though the O-Line is better he doesn't have an elite RB out there to bail him out.

They got blown out by one of the worst teams they'll face in the 1st half of the year. The other "worst team" they'll face next week, and they got a rookie QB who looked a hell of a lot better than Jones did today.

I’ll disagree. But only in degrees. The rot on this team started long ago. It pre-dates Jones even being on the team. Not that he has done anything to fix it, or live up to his draft position. He is just yet another failed pick/roster decision on stack of failed decisions that is a mile high now. I’ve always held they got rid of the wrong guy when they fired coughlin. Nobody can polish a turd. Fire the dude you dropped the turd in the first place. It wasn’t coughlin.

I’d be ok with them just forfeiting the year. Firing everyone in the front office, everyone, every last one of them. Drop 99% of the team. Keep nabers, dexy. Everybody else? See ya.

Bah.
